Chapter 221 - Chapter 221: Sexy Bubble Head Nurses

[Chapter 221: Sexy Bubble Head Nurses]

Puff, puff, puff... Powerful Geomantic Energy surged, and the people in skin-tight suits were blown apart before they could even scream.

[Ding! Killed a G-grade monster, obtained 500 merit points.]

[Ding! Killed a G-grade monster, obtained 500 merit points.] ...

The system notifications sounded one after another.

However, only the first rewarded the Edict of Soul Suppression; the rest gave merit points alone. After killing more than thirty of them, Daniel had gained just over 10,000 points. There really wasn't much to squeeze out of these Lying Figures.

...

Daniel hurried toward the location his Spiritual Sense had detected.

Not far ahead, a new kind of monster poured onto the street.

They were a group of short, grayish-white little creatures, faceless and hunched, clutching sharp knives and letting out piercing, shrill laughter.

In Silent Hill, these were called Grey Children. They symbolized school violence and ostracism. Moving with extreme speed and skilled at group attacks, once caught by them, victims were quickly hacked to pieces.

Dozens of Grey Children flooded out like a tide from a school-like building, blocking Daniel's path.

"Get lost!"

Daniel took a deep breath, his chest swelling.

"Suppress!"

With a thunderous shout, an invisible sound wave burst from his mouth.

It was the technique he'd just acquired -- the Edict of Soul Suppression!

The grand sound exploded like a muffled clap of thunder.

The Grey Children, moving at lightning speed, suddenly froze as if hit by an invisible pause button.

They clutched their nonexistent ears in agony, their knives clattering to the ground as their bodies trembled uncontrollably.

Seizing the moment, Daniel thrust his Judgement Blade forward and transformed into a streak of black lightning.

Swish, swish, swish--

The blade swept through them like a scythe harvesting wheat.

A force as powerful as thunder erupted among the monsters.

The Grey Children were slammed into a cloud of ash.

[Ding! Killed an F-grade monster, obtained 1,000 merit points.]

[Ding! Killed an F-grade monster, obtained Spirit Binding Rope.]

[Ding! Killed an F-grade monster, obtained 1,000 merit points."] ...

The series of sounds rang out again.

Hearing "Spirit Binding Rope," Daniel immediately checked.

He'd thought it was a physical magical artifact but found it was actually a spell. By condensing energy into a rope, it could bind all kinds of sinister entities.

Whether they had physical bodies or not, it was effective. How strong a creature it could restrain depended on Daniel's own power.

"The merit points aren't much, but I suddenly picked up two new spells," Daniel muttered as he pressed onward.

...

Finally, he arrived at the source of the Spiritual Sense mark -- it was a hospital. The building was covered in char marks from a devastating fire, with parts collapsed.

Blade in hand, Daniel stepped inside, greeted by the acrid odor of smoke and rot.

The main entrance had long rotted away, leaving only a gaping frame that looked like the mouth of a giant beast.

Inside, the stench of decay mixed with disinfectant was overwhelming.

Walls were stained with mottled dark reds, and writhing, blood-vessel-like tendrils twitched between rusty bricks.

"This place has one consistent theme: rust and rotten flesh," Daniel whispered in disdain.

His Spiritual Sense prickled anew -- Megan was inside.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

From the far end of the dark, deathly silent corridor, the sharp sound of heels on rusty wire mesh echoed.

The rhythm was erratic but piercing.

As the sound approached, several twisted but graceful figures emerged from the mist.

They were monsters dressed in short, low-cut nurse uniforms.

From the neck down, their bodies were hot and shapely enough to envy supermodels. Their long legs were wrapped in soiled stockings, their every step oddly mesmerizing.

But above the neck, horror exploded.

Their heads looked like balls of raw flesh -- twisted off and crudely sewn back on. No faces, just swollen, twitching tissue.

Bubble Head Nurses -- Nurse Monsters -- the iconic horror creatures of the Silent Hill series.

They represented morbid repression and hospital fears.

Usually static or stiff, these monsters were hyper-sensitive to sound and light. Once they sensed prey, their attacks came with ferocious speed and frequency, belying their rigid forms. Their scalpels and iron pipes sliced enemies in pieces instantly.

"Their bodies seem better-made than before, but their heads were designed in total chaos," Daniel noted, gripping his Judgement Blade as the nurses violently twisted their necks.

Sensing him, the nurses suddenly froze, then spun their heads 180 degrees with an unholy snap.

Swish!

One nurse from the corridor's end lunged with a bizarre shuffling step. Her long-handled scalpel gleamed coldly in the air.

Daniel tilted his head slightly; the blade skimmed the tip of his nose, carrying a faint sickly scent of rotten perfume.

"Not bad strength," he murmured.

Gripping the hilt in reverse, he flicked the blade upward like a bolt of black lightning.

Puchi!

The nurse didn't get to strike again.

Her whole arm, knife and shoulder intact, flew off.

Black blood splattered the wall.

The blood-vessel-like meat clusters greedily writhed, sucking up the spilled blood.

Hissing and panting, the other nurses seemed enraged by their comrade's fall.

They no longer tested Daniel one by one.

Instead, they moved with jerky, stuttering steps like a malfunctioning film and closed in from all sides.

A dozen rusty scalpels intertwined, cutting off all escape routes.

"How annoying; they don't even give me a chance to say hello," Daniel snorted coldly.

His left hand shaped a seal as energy gathered at his fingertips.

"Spirit Binding Rope, rise!"

From the void, several glowing orange-red ropes condensed out of thin air.

Like serpents swimming through water, they darted into the nurses' midst.

This spell excelled against groups of physical monsters.

In moments, the four front nurses were tightly bound.

No matter how they twisted or cracked their bones, they couldn't break free.

"Suppress!"

Daniel spat the command again.

The ropes glowed brighter, and the nurses stiffened.

Under mounting pressure, they exploded with a thunderous bang, scattering severed limbs and torn fabric across the floor.

[Ding! Killed a Bubble Head Nurse, obtained 5,000 merit points.]

[Ding! Killed a Bubble Head Nurse, obtained Bell of Celestial Dominion.]

[Ding! Killed a Bubble Head Nurse, obtained 5,000 merit points."] ...

The system notifications sounded again precisely and relentlessly.
