Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: The Terrifying Pyramid Head

[Chapter 222: The Terrifying Pyramid Head]

Daniel immediately checked the "Bell of Celestial Dominion" and found that, like the "Spirit Binding Rope," it was also a Spell. This Spell used mana to condense a Bell that blocked attacks from all directions. As long as the Bell remained intact, no harm could come through its protection.

However, for Daniel, who had mastered the Fourth Tier Body Enhancement technique, this Spell didn't seem to have much of a significant effect at the moment. His current physical defense was already incredibly formidable.

Before Daniel could react further, more footsteps echoed from deep within the corridor. Nurses kept emerging from the stairwell and pharmacy, their movements quick and relentless. Daniel held his Judgement Blade horizontally across his chest, preparing for the onslaught.

Suddenly, one nurse leapt onto the ceiling, crawling like a spider before dropping straight down, her blade aimed at the crown of Daniel's head. Without even looking up, Daniel thrust his left hand upward.

Boom!

A bolt of lightning shot from his palm, striking the nurse squarely.

"Bang!"

Charred black by the lightning, she fell from the ceiling.

Daniel moved with lightning speed, sweeping his Judgment Blade in a wide arc. The devastating horizontal strike carried overwhelming force, cleaving the three nurses charging side by side cleanly in half at the waist. The dull sound of cutting through rotting flesh and bone echoed ominously within the enclosed corridor, the scene dripping with blood.

"Who's there? Daniel! Is that you?"

Suddenly, a frantic voice rang out from deep within the hallway.

It was Megan.

Daniel's eyes sharpened. No longer caring about the nurses throwing themselves at him one after another, he planted his feet and charged forward like a raging bull.

"Get lost! I'm done playing with you!"

With every step, the floor beneath him cracked, unable to bear the tremendous force. The nurses blocking his path were slammed aside by his shoulders, their bodies shattering midair from the mana backlash.

Suddenly, Daniel's steps faltered as alarm bells rang in his Spiritual Sense. A powerful pressure came from behind.

He turned his head and saw a massive shadow looming around the corner.

"Thump-- Thump--"

Heavy, dragging footsteps accompanied the sound of metal scraping along the floor.

Daniel's gaze sharpened as a massive triangular metal helmet came into view. The creature's upper body was bare, muscles knotted tightly like twisted roots of an ancient tree. Around its waist hung a blood-stained butcher's apron.

Most striking of all was the Executioner's Blade -- it was nearly seven feet long, rusted, and dragged heavily across the floor, sending up a shower of sparks with each scrape.

As the towering triangular iron head fully rounded the corner, the Bubble Head Nurses -- who had been frantically screaming and writhing as they crawled -- froze in unison. It was as if they had encountered their natural predator.

A terrified hiss escaped them, like air leaking out, and one by one, they retreated into the shadows, vanishing instantly into the writhing flesh that covered the walls.

Only the piercing sound of metal scraping against the floor remained.

"Screeech--"

The giant Executioner's Blade carved a deep groove into the rusted wire mesh beneath it.

Daniel stared hard at the giant monster slowly advancing toward him. His eyes darkened with intensity.

Pyramid Head.

The executioner and judge of the Silent Hill world.

He spoke no words, showed no expression, and did not even breathe. He was the manifestation of the prey's deep-rooted guilt and masochistic desires.

In the original film, he was nearly invincible.

That massive blade could easily tear a person in half.

And his almost immortal body shrugged off the vast majority of physical attacks.

Daniel looked at the mountain-like brute blocking the corridor's center. His grip on the Judgement Blade tightened slightly.

"Scared off the little ones and brought in the big guy to hold down the fort, huh?"

Daniel sneered and stepped forward confidently.

Pyramid Head tilted his heavy triangular helmet slightly, as if studying his prey.

Then, without warning, he swung his seven-feet-long Executioner's Blade upward in a massive arc, the nauseating stench of rust and decay filling the air.

"Clang--!"

Sparks exploded as Daniel parried with his Judgement Blade.

Crack!

The Judgement Blade snapped clean in two, and Daniel's hand shook violently from the impact.

"This piece of junk," Daniel muttered, casually tossing the broken blade aside.

"You've got some serious strength. Did you grow up eating iron weights?"

He quipped as he used the momentum to leap back. His left hand instantly formed a hand seal.

"Spirit Binding Rope, rise!"

In the air, three orange-red ropes of mana sprang to life. Like pythons, they coiled tightly around Pyramid Head's arms and waist.

"Roar--"

A muffled guttural sound rumbled beneath the iron helmet. The creature's muscles writhed violently.

The Spirit Binding Ropes -- enough to snare the Bubble Head Nurses -- were pulled taut and strained as Pyramid Head fought back, emitting a harsh grinding noise.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

With a powerful roar, Pyramid Head snapped the three ropes with brute force. They shattered into sparks of orange-red light and dissipated into the air.

"His Spell resistance is pretty high," Daniel observed, eyes narrowing.

He could feel the monster was shrouded in a dense Aura of Blood and Resentment; ordinary Spells barely left a mark.

The Executioner's Blade swung again, smashing directly through rusted iron lockers on one side of the corridor, sending shards of metal flying.

"Five Thunder Doctrine, descend!"

Boom!

A bolt of lightning crashed down, striking Pyramid Head directly.

The giant monster shuddered, its massive frame swaying as black smoke drifted from its body.

Thud!

The Executioner's Blade clattered to the ground, having missed Daniel entirely. It slammed hard against the rusted wire mesh floor, kicking up a dark ring of rust dust.

Pyramid Head's heavy helmet drooped briefly, then swung back upright. A muffled roar, like an old bellows wheezing, came from deep within its throat. Its flesh, charred black from the lightning, writhed and began healing visibly, smoke rising in nauseating black tendrils beneath the dense Aura of Blood and Resentment.

"As long as you're afraid of lightning, that's fine." Daniel cracked his neck and popped his knuckles -- a sound like beans popping. "Since you like close-quarters combat, I'll give you what you want."

He took a deep breath, and his body began to swell violently.

"Riiiip--!"

The clothes on Daniel's upper body burst apart, shredded into fluttering rags.

In seconds, his height surged to nearly seven feet. His sleek muscles bulged massively, sculpted like an explosive statue of strength.

"Sizzle-- Crackle!"

Countless fine streaks of blue lightning leapt into the air, wrapping wildly around his arms and chest. They formed a shimmering Lightning Robe, illuminating his face with a divine majesty.

At that moment, Daniel's aura completely overshadowed the decay and despair that clung to Pyramid Head.

Sensing the threat, Pyramid Head reached down with his scarred giant hand and grabbed the Executioner's Blade from the floor.

"Screeech--!"

He lifted the massive blade high above his head and, with a overwhelming force, slashed down violently toward the crown of Daniel's head!
