"MAIA?!" Xanthe screamed at the top of her voice.
Maia recoiled, looking just as shocked as she was. "What?"
Xanthe's mouth hung loose as her eyes swept over the other woman's body.
She looked totally different.
Her chaotic bat's-nest hairstyle had been tamed into soft, sleek waves that fell neatly past her shoulders. And her V-shaped bangs were now sweeping partly to one side. The silver streak was still there, but instead of making her look rebellious, it somehow made her look elegant.
Then there was the makeup. Usually, Maia would wear dark eyeliner and shadows bold enough to terrify small children and people with weak hearts. But today, her makeup was more... delicate, highlighting her face instead of announcing it from across the room.
Who would have thought she owned a nude color lipstick?
Even her piercings were gone. Well, mostly. The lip, nose, and brow rings were all missing. Only a couple of earrings remained.
