"Stew it?"

"…No!"

Liam blurted it out almost instinctively.

He paid fifty thousand for that Magikarp!

It was not purchased to become fish soup!

He was waiting for it to evolve into Gyarados and become his main Water-type!

Ruan Jianrong slowly turned his head.

"Hmm?"

His calm gaze landed on Liam.

Liam's scalp went numb.

…He just shouted at his father?

He was finished.

Ava stared at him in shock.

Impressive.

Challenging the old man directly.

Liam didn't dare look up.

"Repeat what you just said," Ruan Jianrong said mildly.

"…I…"

"Speak louder. Haven't you eaten?"

I literally haven't…

"We were waiting for you," Liam muttered inside.

"Speak."

The single word made Liam's shoulders tremble.

He gritted his teeth.

"I want to keep it."

Silence filled the room.

Ava held her breath.

A few seconds later—

"You can keep it," Ruan Jianrong said coldly.

"But throw it into the backyard pond."

"Don't put that ugly thing in my goldfish tank."

Liam froze.

"…Huh?"

"Was I unclear?" Ruan Jianrong narrowed his eyes. "Move it. Or I'll make fish soup."

"Yes! I'll move it right now!"

Liam grabbed the net so fast he nearly tripped.

He bowed exaggeratedly.

"Thank you, Dad!"

Watching his son practically skip toward the backyard, Ruan Jianrong snorted.

"Idiot. What's so exciting about that fish?"

Then—

"Dad~"

A tired voice came from behind him.

Ruan Jianrong's expression hardened instantly.

"Speak properly. What nonsense are you learning online? Didn't your mother teach you how to behave like a lady?"

Ava's smile twitched.

Deep breath.

"Father," she said sweetly, posture straightened perfectly. "May I request something?"

Ruan Jianrong nodded with satisfaction.

"Go on."

"I want to raise a pet too."

He frowned slightly.

"What kind?"

Ava hesitated.

How did she describe Bulbasaur?

"…A frog?"

"…Say that again."

The temperature dropped several degrees.

Ava swallowed.

"Or… maybe a toad?"

Silence.

Then—

"Open this door."

"No!"

"You rebellious girl!"

"I'm not opening it unless you promise not to hit me!"

"Fine! I won't hit you!"

"Swear it!"

"AVA!"

Liam stood in the backyard clutching Magikarp and stared toward the house.

He quietly took a step farther away.

Today's house atmosphere—

Very dangerous.

The Next Morning

Ren opened the shop at exactly ten.

"Another beautiful day."

"Mana~"

"Lalu~"

Manaphy yawned on his shoulder.

Ralts tugged gently at his pant leg.

Ren picked the tiny Shiny Ralts up.

"Alright, alright. Breakfast first."

Milk mixed with crushed energy cubes for Ralts.

Milk bread filling for Manaphy and Diancie.

After feeding them, Ren sat at the counter and opened his laptop.

He had an appointment with Lucas.

Tonight at six, he would meet Secretary Ruan Jianrong.

Before that—

He opened the newly finished website.

Pokémon House – Official Website

"Wow… impressive."

The homepage was clean and elegant.

A stylized logo.

A soft background featuring Diancie and Manaphy.

Sections included:

Basic Information

Pokédex

Beginner's Guide

Community Forum

"Professional work," Ren nodded.

He double-checked for bugs.

None.

Five-star review sent.

After negotiating the tree-planting project, advertising could begin.

He didn't lack funds.

Even if he did—

Diancie could literally create diamonds.

Money was not the issue.

Momentum was.

"The Magic City Tournament…"

Ren's eyes gleamed.

City-level.

National.

World Championship.

Step by step.

He opened the New Trainer Prize Pool.

Then calmly added three new entries.

Ultra Beasts:

Pheromosa

Nihilego

Guzzlord

Drop rate: 0.005%

Even lower than Phione.

Ren stared at the probability.

"…You'd need three lifetimes of luck."

The system was ruthless.

Jingle—

The door chime rang.

"Welcome."

"Good morning, boss."

Ren looked up.

"Miss Luna?"

She was back in Magic City.

Last he heard, she had returned to Hangzhou after purchasing Dreepy.

Now she stood at the entrance again—

And beside her—

A cool, elegant girl dressed in fitted black.

Beautiful.

Refined.

"Couldn't stay away," Luna smiled. "And I brought my sister."

She released Dreepy.

"Dree~"

Dreepy immediately floated toward Ren happily.

"Looks well taken care of," Ren nodded approvingly.

"This is my sister, Lucy," Luna introduced.

Lucy gave a polite nod.

"Hello."

Though her gaze kept drifting—

Toward Diancie.

Manaphy.

And the tiny Shiny Ralts.

Her eyes sparkled.

They were ridiculously cute.

Ren gestured toward the seating area.

"Please."

They sat down.

"I've read the Beginner's Guide," Lucy said calmly. "Honestly, I thought Luna was watching special effects videos."

Her expression stiffened slightly.

"I'm a materialist."

Ren smiled.

"And now?"

"My worldview… is adjusting."

Manaphy giggled.

Ralts tilted its head.

"Lalu~"

Lucy pressed her lips together.

"…I want one."

Ren folded his hands on the table.

"Welcome to Pokémon House."
