Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Dragon Envy

A photo of Luna and Aerodactyl spread quickly.

In the picture, Luna wore a sweet smile, her face pure and gentle.

But did anyone care about that?

No.

Absolutely not.

Everyone's attention was locked onto the domineering, ferocious flying dragon standing beside her.

That overwhelming presence was impossible to ignore.

---

Western Suburbs Police Station

"This is too much! Why is this happening?!"

Inside the station, Lily pouted with a sour expression, staring at the photo of Aerodactyl on her phone. Her entire mood had collapsed.

It wasn't fair.

How could Luna draw something like that?

A pseudo-legendary-looking flying dragon!

Meanwhile she…

It hurt.

It physically hurt.

"It's Rock and Flying type. Not Dragon type. What are you upset about?"

Emma sat beside her, completely speechless.

They had already taken a picture of Aerodactyl's Pokédex entry and confirmed its typing.

Didn't Lily insist she only wanted Dragon types?

"But it looks like a dragon! And it can fly! And it can carry people!"

Lily clutched her phone dramatically.

"So what if it's not Dragon type? It has dragon vibes!"

Jealousy was tearing her apart.

"You're more dramatic than me," Emma said dryly.

"Excuse me? Who are you calling dramatic?"

"You stole my Lapras!"

Emma almost laughed.

"You couldn't draw it in five tries. I got it in one. How is that my fault?"

"That's because I warmed up the pool first!"

"If you're unlucky, you're unlucky. Don't try to rewrite history."

"Open your eyes! I'm clearly luckier than you!"

The teacher and the surrounding students stared at the two wealthy young ladies arguing like children.

What just happened?

At that moment, two police officers walked in.

"Alright, alright. Young ladies shouldn't be this angry."

The older officer coughed awkwardly. The argument had somehow escalated to comparing who wet the bed more as children.

It needed to end.

"We sincerely apologize for today's incident."

The middle-aged officer bowed.

"Our misjudgment nearly put you in danger."

The escaped tiger could have caused disaster. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Otherwise, the entire Western Suburbs department would be finished.

"It's fine. Can we leave now?" the teacher asked.

"Yes. Everything has been recorded."

As the students left, the officer couldn't help but glance at Emma and Lily strangely.

Frozen tiger.

Fire-breathing lizard.

Ice-blasting plesiosaur.

What kind of world was this?

After everyone left, the younger officer couldn't hold it in.

"Brother… those Pokémon… that Lapras froze a tiger solid."

The middle-aged officer lit a cigarette.

"I've worked thirty years. Never seen anything like this."

"Charmander. Squirtle. Lapras…"

"These creatures don't seem like animals from this world."

He exhaled smoke slowly.

"Forget it. The higher-ups will handle it. We just worry about our bonuses."

At least no one died.

That was enough.

---

Pokémon House

"Boss! I want to draw again!"

Lucy stood in front of Ren with determined eyes.

Ren smiled and handed her the Pokédex.

"Of course."

"Come on, Lucy!" Luna cheered.

Lucy took a deep breath.

"I can do this."

Snivy gently called out beside her, offering encouragement.

Lucy smiled softly.

Then she tapped the screen.

Silhouettes flashed rapidly.

Finally—

The image stopped.

"Huh? A little green dinosaur?" Luna blinked.

Ren raised an eyebrow.

"Axew."

"Dragon type."

Lucy's eyes widened.

"Dragon?!"

"Pure Dragon type. And its final evolution is very strong."

Ren nodded calmly.

Haxorus was no joke.

Without hesitation, Lucy spoke.

"I want it."

There was absolutely no reason to refuse a dragon.

"270,000," Ren said after brief thought.

Lucy swiped her card immediately.

"And ten boxes of Dragon and Grass energy cubes."

"Certainly."

Moments later, a small green Pokémon ran out energetically.

Light green body.

Dark green markings.

Large tusk-like teeth.

Curious eyes.

"gei-ba~!"

"It's lively," Lucy murmured.

The Pokédex chimed:

Axew — Dragon Type. The Tusk Pokémon.

Abilities: Rivalry / Mold Breaker

Moves: Scratch, Leer, Bite, Night Slash

Uses its tusks to mark territory. If broken, they regrow stronger.

Lucy stared at its tusks thoughtfully.

"So they grow back…"

"Axew has a gentle temperament," Ren added. "Very suitable for beginners. And Night Slash is a good move to inherit."

Lucy looked completely satisfied.

The Return

The door chime rang again.

"Boss! Today was terrifying!"

Emma walked in.

Ren didn't even need to look up.

"You don't have class?"

"School gave us a day off."

Emma's eyes immediately locked onto Aerodactyl.

That overwhelming presence.

Too handsome.

Too imposing.

"Wow… you're that lucky girl, right?" Lily rushed toward Luna.

Luna blinked.

"Just call me Luna."

"Teach me how you're so lucky!"

Lily leaned forward earnestly.

Ever since drawing Trapinch, she felt like her luck was collapsing.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

And she needed answers.
