Chapter 58 - cuddling

After Serina left the room, the door clicked softly behind her.

Jay lifted her head just enough to peek at the clock.

"Keifer…" she murmured, her voice still thick with sleep.

"It's too early to be a real day."

He smiled, eyes still closed, and pulled her back against his chest.

"Then let's not make it a real day."

Jay laughed quietly and tucked her face into his shoulder.

The sunlight kept shifting across the bed…

the room growing warmer…

the world moving on without them.

Neither of them cared.

No alarms.

No footsteps.

No voices calling their names again.

Only slow breathing.

Soft fingers lazily drawing lines on each other's arms.

And the quiet comfort of being held exactly where they wanted to be.

Jay whispered sleepily,

"Can we stay like this… just a little longer?"

Keifer kissed her hair.

"As long as you want."

So they didn't get up.

They didn't rush.

They didn't answer the day.

They slept again—curled into each other, safe and stubborn—

and when they finally woke up…

the sun was already standing high in the sky.

It was almost noon.

In the dining room, Keizer glanced at the clock for the third time.

He frowned slightly.

"Serina… aren't Jay and Keifer coming down?"

Serina calmly poured herself some tea.

"They didn't want to wake up," she said simply.

Keizer looked up.

"Didn't… want to?"

She smiled to herself.

"I went to wake them. They were wrapped around each other like two sleepy kittens. Jay wouldn't even open her eyes properly, and Keifer was holding her like she might disappear if he let go."

Keizer raised an eyebrow.

"…And?"

Serina took a small sip of her tea.

"So I didn't force them."

Keizer chuckled softly.

"They were cuddling?"

"Very cutely," Serina replied, her eyes warm.

"Completely unaware of the world. Honestly… it was too sweet to disturb."

Keizer leaned back in his chair, smiling.

"Good."

Serina glanced at him.

"Good?"

"Yes," he said quietly.

"They've both been through enough. If one morning of peace and comfort is what they want… then they deserve it."

Serina nodded gently.

"They finally feel safe here," she whispered.

"Let them enjoy it."

Keizer smiled again, softer this time.

"Let them sleep, Serina."

And in the quiet of the Watsons' mansion,

two parents chose not to interrupt love—

but to protect it.
