Chapter 14 - 14. Deception

Daisy felt that her vibration-based radar was still lacking; when running long distances like this, too many objects made it difficult to distinguish, and her sight, hearing, and vibration sense often became muddled.

From a reconnaissance perspective, it was far inferior to Daredevil's super senses.

"Hurry, go search over there!" Before she could study it carefully, a noisy sound reached her ears.

She threw the unconscious tattooed man into the shadows of a corner, planning to interrogate him thoroughly later.

Daisy glanced at her surroundings; there was an ordinary apartment building to her left.

She took two steps, leaped high, grabbed the eaves, and then flipped onto the rooftop.

She pulled out her pistol and aimed at the street corner.

Before long, a man with a mohawk appeared in her line of sight.

Ordinary people would only pay attention to their front, back, left, and right, and few would look up for enemies.

The distance wasn't too far, only about twenty meters in a straight line, but one was hidden in the dark, and the other stood in the open.

Daisy used this time difference to activate a small burst of her ability on her wrist.

For accuracy, she held the gun with both hands, aimed at the man's head, and fired decisively.

After the gunshot, the man instinctively made a slight upward movement, but it was too late.

With a muffled "bang," the bullet pierced his left eye and exited his brainstem.

The mohawk man twitched his hands and feet twice, then became completely still.

Daisy quickly jumped to another rooftop; her senses indicated there were still two enemies.

The two men who had been chasing her earlier reunited, looking panicked at their companion who had been killed with a single shot.

They quickly retreated, pulling out their pistols and cautiously scanning their surroundings.

Daisy watched them from afar, aiming several times, but her grip wasn't steady.

The effective range of a pistol is fifty meters, and the accuracy against moving targets is halved.

She relied purely on her physical fitness and ability to assist her shooting, still a long way from being a sharpshooter.

She remained hidden and still, while the other party continuously fired in all directions, trying to find her whereabouts.

Realizing things were spiraling out of control, the bald man hastily pulled out his phone.

Before the call connected, he heard a "bang" and felt a warm liquid flow over his phone-holding hand.

Realizing something was wrong, he immediately lunged to the side like a dog, dodging the enemy's line of fire.

Only then did he have time to look back and saw a large hole in his companion's forehead, his blood splattering all over his hand.

His reaction was also lightning-fast.

He stood up and fired several shots, "bang, bang—" in the direction the bullet had come from.

Daisy returned fire, but the other party was prepared, and the distance was indeed very far.

Luck didn't favor her this time; the bullet grazed the bald man's left arm and flew past.

At this moment, the bald man also saw her position—she was on the rooftop!

When did she get up there?

He hid behind a corner, holding the blood-soaked phone, and tried it twice, but it wouldn't turn on.

He angrily threw the phone away and cautiously looked towards the rooftop.

"We mean no harm, Madam only admires you and wants to talk," he shouted.

Daisy almost burst out laughing.

Am I that idiotic? Do they think I don't see their blatant malice?

"Your marksmanship is really good.

Is there some misunderstanding between us?" The bald man was a little afraid of her marksmanship.

While talking nonsense, he surveyed the surrounding terrain, preparing to find a shortcut to rush in and engage Daisy in close combat.

Little did he know, Daisy had the same plan.

Her physique couldn't compare to Captain America's; could she get shot and get up on her own after ten seconds?

She didn't have that physique.

Luck was hard to predict; if the other party closed their eyes and shot her, it would be too unfair.

Sensing the bald man's position, she also slipped down and waited for him in the corner.

The bald man held a dagger in his left hand and a pistol in his right, hugging the wall, his eyes darting around, but his breathing was a little heavy.

Daisy placed her left hand on the floor and activated her ability.

What was under the ground?

The bald man only felt the ground shaking beneath his feet.

The floor creaked, and his attention was instantly drawn.

An earthquake?

This thought had just surfaced when it was extinguished by a gunshot, leading him to death.

Daisy dealt with the enemy, throwing the empty gun in her hand towards the bald man.

He remained motionless, indeed dead.

She hadn't felt it before, but now, looking at the bloody scene up close, she still felt a little trepidation.

She tried to imagine the bald man as a monster from a game, forcing herself to suppress her nausea and search the body.

This guy was relatively wealthy, carrying two hundred dollars, a Beretta 92F, and two magazines.

Daisy unceremoniously stuffed them into her pocket.

Madam Gao, that old hag, was targeting her, and having a gun would make her much safer.

She then searched the other two bodies outside.

One pistol was out of bullets, and the other guy didn't even have a gun.

She discarded the empty guns and ransacked their wallets.

Daisy's total assets had recovered to eight thousand dollars!

She picked up a piece of wood from the ground and started hitting the tattooed man who had been unconscious earlier.

He was beaten to a bloody pulp before he finally woke up.

Seeing the gleaming pistol in front of him, he was stunned.

Daisy asked, "Who sent you? Why are you following me?"

The tattooed man's eyes flickered, seemingly searching for a weapon.

Daisy was a little annoyed.

I'm pointing a gun at you!

Is a woman's threat level so low in your eyes?

"Bang!" She shot through his foot.

"Speak!"

The tattooed man's face was filled with ferocity.

He endured the pain, seemingly trying to stand up.

Daisy fired again, and his other foot was shot through.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!"

The tattooed man rolled on the ground, clutching his feet.

When Daisy pointed the gun at his head, he finally gave up resisting.

"It...it was Madam Gao's order!"

"That old lady? I don't know her."

The tattooed man glanced at her, then quickly lowered his head.

"If I were caught by you, what would that old lady do to me?" Daisy continued to ask.

The tattooed man's face changed dramatically, and he shivered like a sieve.

Daisy pointed the gun at his forehead, the meaning self-evident.

"If I tell you, you can't kill me!"

"I won't kill you, speak."

"Madam Gao would most likely sell you to those rich people...or send you to her factory to work..."

Daisy understood most of it, her eyes turning red with anger.

That old bastard!

The whole thing had nothing to do with those Japanese people; it was just a chance encounter.

"Where does that old hag usually stay?"

The tattooed man softly recited an address.

"You said you wouldn't kill me..." The tattooed man was afraid she'd shoot him in a fit of emotion.

"I won't kill you."

Daisy's words sounded like heavenly music to the tattooed man's ears.

Before his joy could fully show, he heard a "bang" and his vision turned black.

"Next life, remember, never trust a pretty woman's words."

Daisy had no qualms about breaking her word.

She put the pistol back in her backpack, leaving four bodies behind, and swiftly left the crime scene
