Tori's POV
For a moment, I just stood there staring at the blood coating my fingers, my mind struggling to process what had just happened. The sting spreading through the side of my head grew sharper by the second, but somehow, it still wasn't enough to distract me from the sound of their laughter.
They were laughing.
Like this was funny.
Like hurting someone for no reason suddenly made them stronger.
One of the girls folded her arms underneath her chest while the other two stood beside her with expressions filled with satisfaction. They looked proud of themselves, almost relieved that they finally got a reaction out of me.
I slowly lifted my gaze toward them.
"You missed," I said calmly, even though my head was throbbing badly.
Their laughter stopped immediately.
Good.
The girl holding the second stone tilted her head slightly, clearly not expecting that response from me.
