ANNIE'S POV:
I was walking to class when, in the hallway, I saw Sevi hiding behind old chairs and desks in the corner. I raised an eyebrow and walked over to him.
"What are you doing?"
"Shh… I'm not here. Just go away…"
"But what happened?"
"Shhh… I'll tell you later. But if someone asks about me, say you don't know, okay?"
I raised an eyebrow and turned at the sound of noise.
Some students came running. I stepped away as he hid again and walked toward them.
"What are you all doing here? Huh?!"
"Sevi! Where's that punk, huh?!"
"Why? What did he do now?"
"That piece of shit took money from Gangster Eric and didn't give it back!"
"Gangster what?"
"Gangster Eric! The most powerful student in the school!"
I rolled my eyes.
Like they don't know about KATS.
"I saw him on the right. He was running that way!"
The students ran in the direction I pointed, and I went back to Sevi's hiding place.
"Are they gone?"
"Yes… Who is this 'Gangster Eric,' and why did you take his money?"
"You know, after KATS were formed, everyone in school started acting like their own gangster and copying us. He's one of them but he's too powerful and looks like a giant…"
"Giant?"
"Yeah, he's 8 feet tall and fat. He doesn't even look like a high school student, more like a Japanese wrestler…"
"Weird… but why did you take his money?"
"Actually, I manipulated him. I told him that if he wants to be powerful, he should start lending people money so no one would dare talk back because they'd owe him. But it turns out the students he lent money to, ran away with it… even me. So now he wants it back from me, knowing I fooled him…"
"You're fucking pathetic, you know that?"
"I know… but please help me…" He bent down and grabbed my leg. "Please, I beg you to help me…"
"Ask Theo. Maybe he'll help you with the money thing…"
He stood up straight and fixed his posture. "Good idea! Thank you so much!"
He hugged me tightly for a moment and ran away.
"Oh, gross!" I fixed my uniform and hair. "Weirdo."
Then I went to class.
