At the sound of this voice, Javier Sinclair's clenched fist finally relaxed.
"Mm."
He lifted his gaze slightly, his eyes falling on the child in Nerida's arms before shifting to the room. "How is she?"
Nerida had to suppress a smile.
'Men. They're all so obsessed with their pride.'
'The Exalted One was clearly worried sick about her.'
"Madam is fine, just exhausted from giving birth. She was trembling and incredibly tense earlier, so I let her get some rest. The Exalted One can go in to see her shortly."
Nerida gestured to him.
"Exalted One, would you like to hold the Young Master?"
"No need."
He had never held such a small child before; he couldn't even bring himself to extend his hands.
Nerida stepped forward and carefully offered the child to him. "Just hold him. If you don't know how, you can learn. You're his father. You'll be holding him a lot in the future. This is your son."
Javier Sinclair stiffly extended his arms and took the baby.
