Wyatt Hawthorne looked up, his brow furrowed. "What happened?"
Faye Vaughn showed him her injured arm. "My brother was blackmailing me. When I couldn't get enough money for him, he flew into a rage and hurt me."
Faye lowered her gaze sadly. "He's my full-blooded brother. We were so close when we were little."
Anger flashed across Wyatt Hawthorne's handsome face. He acted swiftly, immediately helping her out of the car.
He had driven himself today. Once she was settled in the passenger seat, he stepped on the gas and headed toward the police station.
On the way, he made a call. "Director Lockwood, I need you to come down in person."
Hearing him use his connections, Faye quickly thanked him. "You really don't have to do this. A normal police report would be enough. I have security footage as evidence."
Wyatt Hawthorne didn't respond.
His expression was dark, simmering with anger.
'This is strange,' Faye thought. 'What's he so angry about?'
