Faye Vaughn said playfully, "How much are you willing to give me? Half of your fortune, perhaps?"
Wyatt Hawthorne's eyes narrowed. "Not even married yet, and you're already trying to divide up the family fortune."
Faye Vaughn looked at him, feigning surprise. "Mr. Hawthorne, are you saying you want to marry me?"
'She knew it was completely impossible. She was just saying it to provoke him.'
But Wyatt Hawthorne was unruffled. He said slowly, "If you marry me, you'll have to sign a prenup. You might not get a single penny. Would you still be willing then?"
Faye Vaughn shook her head and admitted frankly, "No, I wouldn't."
Wyatt Hawthorne scoffed under his breath. "Pragmatic."
The corners of Faye Vaughn's lips curved into a smile. "If I were to get married, it wouldn't be with the goal of getting alimony from a divorce. So a prenup would be irrelevant."
Wyatt Hawthorne eyed her. "Then why wouldn't you?"
