Officer B glanced at where Henry Marshall was sitting, near the restaurant's main entrance.
If they rushed him directly, they might tip him off and he could escape through the main door.
But if they approached from both sides, it would be a different story. It would significantly reduce his chances of escape.
"I can take this officer over. The restaurant's back door is in a bit of an obscure spot. Someone unfamiliar with the layout could easily get turned around," the manager said quickly, seeming to have finally figured out how he could help.
Officer B didn't refuse. After confirming their communication devices were working properly, the two went their separate ways.
Officer A stood behind a wall, observing Henry Marshall in a nearby mirror.
He didn't seem very alert. He kept his head down the entire time, eating the food in front of him. His pace was a bit fast, though; in just a moment, he'd already finished a third of it.
