"Don't scream!" Renee Jennings's brows knitted together as she snapped in a cold voice. "Are you trying to attract the villagers?"
Evelyn Hollis's eyes widened in shock as she made out Renee Jennings's face in the dim light. "It's... it's you..."
Renee looked at her disheveled state and asked in a low voice, "Do you want to leave this place?"
Evelyn Hollis nodded forcefully.
"Then come with us," Renee said.
The soles of Evelyn Hollis's feet were worn raw and bleeding, and she walked very slowly.
Henry Stark glanced at Zachary Conway and said quietly, "Help carry Miss Hollis."
"Okay." Zachary Conway walked over to Evelyn Hollis. "Miss Hollis, your feet are injured. Let me carry you."
"No!" Evelyn Hollis recoiled from his touch, her expression terrified and her emotions fraught. "Don't touch me!"
"Alright, don't be alarmed." Zachary Conway quickly backed away.
