Chapter 60 - 60 – Planet Vegeta and Planet Gavria

A week had passed since Tundra's partnership with Greed. During that time, he had confirmed Greed's abilities before finally landing atop Planet Vegeta.

What greeted Tundra as he stepped out of the ship was a frightened King Vegeta, surrounded by several broken scouters scattered across the ground.

Tundra simply looked down at the Saiyans before bending down and placing a hand on King Vegeta's shoulder.

King Vegeta flinched, his hands fidgeting as he prepared to struggle against what he assumed would be his death.

Tundra's eyes narrowed as he took his hand off King Vegeta's shoulder before looking up and calling out to all of the Saiyans.

"I understand your confusion. Much has changed since your disappearance, but this era has become more prosperous than your greatest imaginations!"

Tundra looked around at the Saiyans, seeing them still wary and distrustful.

"Heralds of power amongst your own kind have stepped into this universe, achieving the Super Saiyan legend!"

Shocked murmurs burst out. They had no reason to believe Tundra, but if there was even a sliver of a chance to rebel against Frieza or any of his family, they would latch onto the idea and strive for it.

"Unlike Frieza, I reward those with power, no matter what! Any accomplishments you make shall be solely your own!"

Tundra walked over, grabbing a broken scouter off the ground.

"Even these useless old scouters have been replaced for your convenience! They no longer break! Your survival is no longer put at risk because of faulty equipment!"

Tundra grinned as he shouted.

"The Super Saiyans of legend were rewarded with their very own planet even after killing Frieza and Cold!"

"Now come with me! Leave behind the lives of the Frieza Force! There is always a place for you in the Empire!"

There was only silence for a few moments before a bright Saiyan started cheering, causing a chain reaction as the others encouraged one another.

Tundra smiled at the surrounding Saiyans before turning to King Vegeta.

"Well? What will it be, King? You listen to me, and by extension your people... or you don't. The choice is yours."

Tundra glared down at the king, his ki cascading down upon him in a small attempt to make him kneel.

The king barely held himself up from collapsing, opening his mouth shakily as he tried to get his words out smoothly.

"I accept."

Tundra stared down at King Vegeta before grinning.

"Very well. The renewed contract will come in a week. Until then, you will have access to the Empire as full citizens."

Tundra turned, heading back to his ship with the crew that had accompanied him.

The Saiyans were left in rather high spirits compared to if they had met Frieza instead, although the non-combatant Saiyans were less enthusiastic.

---

Tundra sat on his throne, looking through the galactic map to find a certain planet, muttering in disbelief.

"Are there no nature preserves? How... awful."

Tundra eventually settled on Gavria. Once a barren world of endless fire, it had become one of the Empire's largest food suppliers after enormous edible beasts were discovered there. It would make for a suitable replacement.

"We move to Gavria."

With Tundra's command, Shitaki moved to pilot the ship, setting off for the planet of fire.

Tundra ignored every one of Greed's protests.

---

Several weeks later, the ship arrived at Gavria, landing on the smooth metal of the landing pad.

Stepping out of the ship, Tundra was met by the leader of the Gavrians, a large blue cyclops, easily taller than Tundra, with disproportionately long arms and fingers. It opened its mouth to speak.

"Lord Tundra, your power is greater than anything we have imagined. Please, come with us. The dawn is high."

Tundra nodded, following the leader of the Gavrians and allowing it to show him around as a courtesy to such a respectful species.

The leader, Gavta, headed from town to town, showing Tundra around.

Tundra was in no rush, deciding to take in the scenery, though he did take note of the citizens greeting him with "tama ulta." While he could not understand it, he could tell it was respectful.

Truly, what a great species, unlike the Saiyans.

This thought reminded him of what he wanted to do, stopping at a large barren field with Gavta.

"Gavta, are there any bows around?"

Gavta thought for a bit. They had kept such items around, albeit after a certain point in time they had grown too strong to need them.

"We do. I will get one for you."

Gavta shot off to a nearby town, returning quickly with a large bow in hand, looking happy to share the traditions of its people.

"Great Tundra, would you like to learn about this bow?"

Tundra took the bow into his hands, pulling on the string. It was rough, warm to the touch, yet it held a power he hadn't thought possible for such a simple weapon.

"I am interested. This bow seems quite powerful compared to what I would assume to be possible for such a weapon."

Gavta smiled, running a finger over the bow.

"It was made from the greatest being on this planet. The limbs from its hide, the string from its tendons. We call the creature Mota. Would you like to see it?"

Gavta took its hand off the bow with a smile.

Tundra looked over the bow. There was no magic, yet it had so much potential that it was almost baffling. Still, he couldn't help but notice the lack of arrows.

"Very well. And where might the arrows for this great bow be?"

Gavta looked back at the bow for a moment with a confused expression before nodding to itself.

"Ah. We use our energy."

Tundra paused.

Ki control?

He hadn't expected that.

"And exactly how many of you can do this?"

Gavta paused to think for a bit.

"Everyone except the hatchlings. They need more time for their senses to grow."

This was new to Tundra. A species so adept at ki control that they spoke about it as if it were commonplace. They certainly were better than the Saiyans. Maybe they even had the same potential as the Saiyans.

Tundra debated replacing the Saiyans with the Gavrians, but he didn't have enough information for now, so that thought could wait until later.

"Could you perhaps show me these arrows?"

Tundra held the bow out for Gavta to take.

Gavta nodded, taking the bow before looking over to a nearby boulder and pulling the string back to its chest, its elongated arms allowing it to draw it far farther than one usually could.

With a single breath, a shining needle of ki materialized in the shape of an arrow within the bow.

Letting go of the string, Gavta's ki arrow pierced through the boulder in an instant, dissipating dozens of meters beyond it after creating a small but remarkably clean hole straight through the stone.

All this time, Tundra simply watched, clearly amazed.

Maybe this species shouldn't be limited to processing animal meat.

With the demonstration over, Gavta handed the bow back to Tundra.

"Ulta, were you satisfied?"

Tundra nodded before narrowing his eyes, growing slightly annoyed that he still couldn't understand what he kept being called, even though he knew it was respectful.

"And 'Ulta' means?"

Gavta paused. It hadn't considered that Tundra might not know their language at all.

"Sky god, or great being of the sky. It is simply a word used to refer to a being as great as you."
