Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 - Dangerous game in an amusement park

The long-awaited day finally arrived-the day Tristan had promised the twins a trip to the amusement park, all expenses paid.

True to his word, he accompanied them and the three entered the park together, excitement buzzing in the air.

They wandered around for a while, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling park. But after about fifteen minutes, Tristan's patience began to wear thin.

"We've been walking for nearly a quarter of an hour," Tristan said, "and you two still haven't picked a ride to start with."

Luna shot him an annoyed look. "Ugh, annoying much? We picked several already."

"Yeah," Yuna added, pulling out a small notebook. "Look, I wrote them down."

"Really? I didn't even notice," Tristan admitted.

"That's because you were glued to your phone while we were walking," Luna huffed.

"Fair point," Tristan muttered sheepishly.

"Enough talking. Let's start!" Luna declared.

Their first ride was the rollercoaster, followed by a thrilling drop tower. After a few more rides, they paused for lunch at a nearby restaurant. With full stomachs and high spirits, they headed toward the bumper cars.

But just as they stepped off the ride, a chilling sensation washed over them. The three froze. Without needing to speak, they all knew : a hostile force was approaching fast-from behind.

Heirs of the wonder stones had a unique ability , they could sense an attack launched by another heir, whether it came through elemental powers or weapons. Reacting instantly, Tristan and the twins leapt away from the danger zone, dragging as many civilians as they could along with them.

A violent explosion tore through the place where they had stood moments before.

Screams echoed. Smoke billowed.

Some had been injured and three unfortunate souls had died.

Yuna's eyes filled with sorrow as she turned toward the wounded, heart aching with empathy. She began to move toward them but Luna held her back.

"Don't," Luna said firmly. "Whoever did this... they suspect that me, you and Tristan-are heirs to wonder stones. If you go to heal those people now, they'll attack again. And next time, the injured might not survive."

"She's right," Tristan agreed. "We need to find the bastard responsible first. Once we deal with him, you can go help the rest."

"Understood," Yuna replied, nodding reluctantly.

Tristan narrowed his eyes, scanning the surroundings. The energy of another wonder stone pulsed nearby-and the twins felt it too.

Two men emerged from the smoke. One wielded a massive sword; the other carried a launcher that resembled a bazooka.

Tristan turned to the twins. "Those two... they're the ones who attacked. I'm going to kill them. You two-get out of here."

Luna and Yuna exchanged amused glances, then burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?" Tristan demanded, puzzled.

"No offense," Luna said, "but we can handle those two ourselves."

"I'm the man here," Tristan said indignantly. "I'm not going to stand back and let two women fight dangerous men while I watch."

"That's sweet," Luna replied "but we're not helpless. We inherited the legend of Tominako, remember? Let us show you what we can do. If we need help, we'll ask."

"I still need to help the injured," Yuna added. "You take care of those two and don't forget to wear your mask-both of you. We need to hide our identities."

"Got it " Tristan replied

Every member of Kaos carried a special mask-one that covered their eyes and nose and extended with cloth to hide their entire face. This anonymity was crucial. If their enemies ever learned their true identities, the people they cared about could be put in danger.

Masked and ready, the three stood silently.

Then Luna stepped forward, emerging through the smoke like a phantom, her masked gaze fixed on the two armed men.

"Welcome, honored guests," she said coldly.

One of them sneered. "We didn't know we were guests of yours."

"Well, now you do," Luna replied. "Care to explain why you blew up a public area?"

"We sensed the energy of a wonder stone nearby," the man with the sword answered. "We struck where the power was strongest. And from the looks of it, you're our target. I can sense it in you."

"So, your solution is to kill anyone you suspect?" she asked, unimpressed.

"Not if you agree to join us," the other man said.

Luna : " Before you try to recruit me, at least tell me your names."

"I'm ( Shadow ). This is my friend, ( Ban) ."

" You've got a lovely names "

" What about you , won't you tell us your name ? "

" I won't "

" How rude of you "

" Yeah and as for your offer-no thanks . I prefer to act on my own terms "

Ban frowned. "Then you've left us no choice "

"We tried to be nice," Shadow added. "Now we won't be."

"Whatever," Luna said with a shrug.

Ban raised his bazooka-like weapon and fired a massive fireball toward her. As it soared through the air, glowing red-hot, Luna unleashed a concentrated blast of sonic waves-one of the many abilities granted by the heirs of air Stone.

The fireball disintegrated instantly.

Shadow turned to Ban, alarmed. "Wasn't that fireball supposed to cause massive damage?!"

"She neutralized it with a sonic wave," Ban muttered in disbelief.

"You're pathetic. I'll handle this myself," Shadow snarled, licking his blade like a madman.

Luna summoned her spinning star blade and held it steady in one hand. Shadow charged but she sidestepped gracefully. He launched a lightning bolt from his hand; she countered with a small tornado, then vanished in an instant, reappearing behind him.

She was about to hurl her spinning blade at him when Ban screamed, "Shadow you idoiot , behind you!"

Shadow twisted away just in time, but Luna's blade grazed his face, drawing blood. He wiped it away with a finger and licked it with a twisted smile.

"She's not ordinary, that's for sure."

"I'll help you," Ban said, moving forward.

But before he could take another step, Tristan appeared out of nowhere and kicked Ban to the ground.

"You're with her, then?" Ban spat as he got up.

"Yes. You bastards ruined our day, and now you're going to pay."

"You sound confident," Ban growled.

Luna interrupted, glaring at both of them. "Tristan, stop interfering. I said I can handle them!"

Tristan : "I'm not going to sit back while you fight alone "

"Just let me deal with them and stop annoying me " she snapped.

Her shout stunned all three men.

Tristan sighed. "Fine. But if you get into trouble, I'm stepping in."

"Good. That's more like it," Luna said, turning back to her enemies.

"You're letting a girl fight for you?" Ban mocked Tristan. "Coward."

"I'm not a coward," Tristan shot back. "She's just stronger than you. I'll enjoy watching her kick your asses."

With that, he teleported away, leaving Luna to handle the fight.

Ban launched another fireball and again Luna dissipated it with a sonic wave . Then he charged her himself but she dodged swiftly. He managed to grab her arm and slam her into the ground. Holding her in place, he gathered fire in his free hand, preparing to finish her off.

But then, a terrible pain ripped through his body.

He looked down-and screamed then he turned to his arm to find a sight that horrified him deeply.

His entire arm was left mangled, with only bone visible beneath the blood.

Shadow rushed to his side. "What the hell happened?!"

"I-I don't know! My arm!"

Luna's voice drifted to them. "Looks like you need a nurse."

They turned and saw her standing calmly, it was obvious that she was the one who did that to Ban

"You bitch!" Shadow yelled.

"He tried to kill me. I returned the favor, that's all," Luna replied with venom.

While Shadow tended to Ban's wound, Luna pulled out a chocolate bar and casually began eating it.

"Take your time," she said mockingly.

Rage boiled in Shadow's veins. He wrapped Ban's wound quickly, grabbed his lightning-charged blade, and charged again.

This time, his strikes were faster and more vicious. Luna dodged two, blocked the third with her spinning star-but the sheer force of the blade overwhelmed her, and she was forced to teleport away again.

From a distance, she called out, "You're strong, huh?"

Shadow turned, smirking. "Haven't fought a worthy opponent in a while. Didn't expect it to be a little girl, though."

"I may be small but I'm powerful."

"Let's end this, then."

Lightning burst from his palms, hurtling toward her. She dodged most of it but one bolt struck her, forcing her to her knees in pain.

Shadow charged, blade ready to finish the job.

Luna, despite the agony, hurled her spinning star. It collided with his blade-and burst into flames. The explosion burned Shadow's arms, and he retreated, stunned.

"You're supposed to have the Air Stone," he gasped. "How did you use fire?!"

Luna : "I'm not telling you."

"Damn you!"

Then he noticed something else. Every time he had attacked with lightning, Luna had quietly been teleporting the wounded civilians to safety.

A wicked grin twisted his face.

He turned to a girl with an injured leg-unable to walk.

And charged.

The girl screamed in terror as the massive man approached with a lightning blade.

Luna didn't hesitate. She teleported, shoved the girl out of the way but couldn't fully evade the strike herself. A gash tore across her back and she fell.

Shadow raised his hand, ready to throw a final lightning orb but Tristan appeared in a flash and decapitated him with his giant saw-blade weapon.

The fight was over.

Tristan helped Luna to her feet. "Aren't you going to thank me?"

"I could've handled it if he hadn't pulled that hostage stunt," she grumbled.

"Still, I saved your life."

"Fine. Thank you."

She turned to the terrified girl, who sat trembling and sobbing.

"I know you must have a million questions," Luna said gently, " but now's not the time . Leave while you still can I have to finish my business "

Tristan looked over. "What do you mean , I already took care of the other guy while you were fighting."

"You WHAT?!" Luna snapped. "They were MY opponents!"

"I didn't-"

"You two are arguing again," Yuna interrupted calmly.

"Did you finish healing everyone?" Luna asked.

"Yes. I treated those hurt by the wonder stone's explosion. The rest I bandaged with the help of some volunteers. I did everything I could."

"Well done, my sweet twin."

"Luna-you're bleeding!"

Yuna rushed to Luna's side, beginning the healing process.
