After Yuna finished treating her twin
Luna stood up and looked at her gratefully.
"Thanks for healing me," she said.
"You're welcome," Yuna replied with a soft smile. "You're my twin above all else. Of course I'll help and heal you."
Luna then turned to Tristan, who had been watching them silently. His face was marked by clear displeasure. She raised an eyebrow.
"What's wrong ?"
"Nothing," Tristan said, shaking his head. "I was just waiting for you two to finish so we could leave. I also… owe you both an apology."
"An apology?" Yuna asked, puzzled.
"I promised you a fun outing as a reward for saving Badwin. But instead, it turned into a full-blown battle."
"There's no need to apologize, Tristan, You couldn't have known we'd be attacked."
"And honestly," Luna added with a grin "I had fun fighting those two idiots we defeated. Not gonna lie."
Tristan chuckled. "Well, I guess that's good, then. A fun day—Kaos Team style."
The three walked away from the amusement park together, chatting as they went.
Tristan : " By the way, Luna, that technique you used on the enemy on his arm it was both incredible and terrifying."
Luna : "Yeah , It's a dangerous skill, but it drains a lot of my energy."
"I've never seen anything like it , You really created a unique ability."
Yuna : "She didn't create it, It was Reed who came up with the ( Bone Separator ) skill. We both can use it through our blood."
Luna : "I can use your ( Ice Dismantling ) technique too, you didn't invent that either—Reed did."
Tristan : "What's with the names of these skills? They sound downright terrifying but I think the Bone Separator uses air power, right? "
" Yes , It is a skill that manifests itself in applying heavy gas pressure; if it strikes vertebrates, nothing remains but the bone . While other things, it completely vanishes them. I have no idea what Reed was thinking but it's both scary and amazing."
"I liked it," he added. "What about Ice Dismantling?"
"That's mostly my go-to," Yuna replied. "It uses water power . The water freezes over the target area, then the ice shatters—along with whatever it was covering—turning it into snow."
"Reed really came up with some deadly and terrifying techniques,"
"So… which one do you like more, Bone Separator or Ice Dismantling?"
Luna : "He hasn't even seen yours yet, you idiot,"
Yuna : "But I described it to him,"
"Descriptions aren't the same as seeing it in action,"
Tristan : " She's right , I'll need to witness both to decide."
"I'll show it to you. Just not now. I've drained my energy healing everyone after the explosion."
"No problem. Show me whenever you feel ready."
"Thanks."
After that, the three parted ways and headed home.
Two days later…
Merrick was at home watching TV when the news came on . The screen showed footage from the amusement park explosion, captured by surveillance cameras. In the report, Luna, Yuna and Tristan were clearly visible on the day of the incident.
A look of concern crossed Merrick's face. He grabbed his phone and called Luna, who answered promptly.
"Hey Merrick."
"Luna, are you alone?"
"No, Yuna's here. She's making us some chocolate milk so we can watch a movie before bed."
"Ah, good. Watching movies instead of updating me on what happened lately?"
"What do you mean?"
"I'm talking about the explosion at the amusement park, Luna."
"But how did you know we were there?"
"Everyone knows. The surveillance footage was broadcast. You, Yuna and Tristan were all captured."
"Damn. I completely forgot about that. Look, we're not entirely sure who those two guys were but we assumed they were part of the Fauvism gang."
"We should've held a meeting with the rest of the team to discuss this, Luna."
"Sorry. We didn't think it was that big of a deal since we defeated them. I was going to tell you in Sunday's meeting."
"A week after the fight? That's hardly useful."
"I really am sorry."
"I'll call the others. We'll have a meeting tomorrow. You notify Yuna, Tristan and Jayden."
"Got it."
Merrick hung up, climbed the stairs to his room, and began calling the rest of Team Kaos. Meanwhile, Luna contacted the members Merrick mentioned.
The next evening, Clara, Salvador, Sonny, Merrick and Tristan all gathered at the Kaos headquarters. Luna and Yuna soon joined them. The twins sat with the group, and Merrick began the meeting.
"Where's Jayden?"
Luna : "He couldn't make it due to… something, He wouldn't tell me what it was. But he said we should update him later."
"Fine. It's not ideal, but we'll fill him in afterward."
"So," Salvador cut in, "what's the story with the guys who attacked you at the amusement park?"
"They were huge," Tristan replied. "Each over 190 cm tall and weighed at least 90 kg. They had tattoos all over."
"Why bother describing them?" Luna shrugged. "We buried their bodies in our backyard."
"You what? Why didn't you say so from the start?!"
"Enough," Merrick said, silencing them. "Continue. I'm sure the destruction shown after the explosion was caused by a battle between heirs of the wonder stones. And the three of you were there."
Luna : "You're sharp , Tristan described their appearance. As for why they came—they sensed the presence of a Stone Heir. That's what they told me."
Clara : "So they didn't know who you were exactly?"
"Right. One was named Ban and he used fire power. The other, Shadow, used lightning. They attacked blindly. I fought them while Yuna treated the injured."
"Hey!" Tristan objected. "I fought too."
"Yes, yes, calm down,"
Sonny : "Did they say who sent them?"
"No. But we suspect they were with the Fauvism gang. They've become more active lately."
"Wait a second," Yuna interrupted, eyes widening.
Merrick : "What is it?"
"You said one of them used lightning, right?"
"Yes. We told you that at the time," Tristan replied.
"I remember—and that's the problem. I use lightning to fry recording devices or hidden surveillance cams. But if Shadow was a lightning user, he could have shielded his own devices."
"But that's impossible," Luna argued. "His device must've been destroyed during the fight."
"We didn't search their bodies for recording gear."
"Then you two need to go check. And be careful," Merrick warned. "If their devices were intact, others may have pinpointed their location."
"We'll go right now," Luna said.
The twins rushed back home, heading straight to their garden, where they had buried Ban and Shadow. Digging quickly, they retrieved the bodies. Yuna inspected them and found the surveillance devices—both, thankfully, were broken.
"Thank god" Luna sighed. "Both are disabled. What a relief."
"Not so fast," Yuna cautioned. "We need to determine exactly when the devices were destroyed. During the fight? Or afterward?"
"How can we do that?"
"We'll buy a similar device and I'll compare it with these using my lightning ability to detect the timing of the electrical failure."
"Smart plan. But… getting such devices won't be easy. They're custom-made for gang use. Rare stuff."
"That's bad…"
"Let's call Merrick."
Merrick was at home organizing documents for a case—he worked as a lawyer—when Luna called.
"Hey, how's it going?" she asked.
"Good. I'm working on a new case."
"This is important, but if you're busy—"
"No, tell me now."
She explained what they had discovered about Ban and Shadow's devices and their need for a similar model.
"I know someone who can get us one," Merrick replied. "Don't ask who."
"I won't. Just—when can we get it?"
"Soon. Just stay alert, you and Yuna both."
"We will."
After hanging up, Merrick continued working. Meanwhile, Jayden stood on his balcony, smoking slowly as he stared at the night sky.
His phone buzzed. It was Merrick so he answered
"Hey. How are you?"
" Fine what about you ?"
"I'm good. I know you're calling to scold me for skipping the team meeting but I had a reason."
"No need to explain. I know you're planning to leave your gang life behind. Take your time. Just—are you alone right now?"
"Yeah. What's up?"
"Can you get us a surveillance device—like the ones used by your gang?"
"I can. What for?"
"It's a long story. I'll explain when we meet."
"Alright."
They agreed on a meeting place for the next day.
The following morning, Jayden went to a local park where people often went to relax. He sat on a bench, cigarette in hand. Soon, Merrick approached.
Merrick : " Morning, Jayden."
Jayden : " Hey, Merrick."
They shook hands and walked together.
Merrick : "You heard about the explosion at the amusement park?"
Jayden : "Yeah. I did."
"That was the work of wonder stone heirs. Three of our teammates were there—targeted in the attack."
"Were they hurt?"
"No. The twin heirs of Reed—Luna and Yuna are powerful. And so is Tristan."
"Glad to hear they're safe. Do you know who the attackers were?"
"We believe they were gang members. They had surveillance devices sewn into their jackets."
"Thought so too. Here take this."
Jayden handed Merrick a gang-issued surveillance device.
Jayden : "What will you do with it?"
Merrick : "Yuna plans to compare its electrical signature with the damaged ones to figure out exactly when they were destroyed."
"I can help with that. I use lightning too."
"Then take it to them tomorrow. You'll be more help than I could be. Tell them I won't make it—I've got urgent work."
"I Will do."
Merrick handed the device back to Jayden and the two men parted ways, each heading home—waiting for what the next day would bring.
