Chapter 5 - chapter 5 (Laura's return)

Holand came out of his room, carrying his books, at the same time as Keyli, they were both in a hurry, it was Monday morning, and there were many assignments at school. They were going to have a meeting, and Keyli wanted to discuss Laura's issue.

Holand arrived with his laptop and camera, many ideas were in his mind, making uniforms for the competition, making schedules for practice, all of which he poured into the meeting that morning. Keyli asked Holand to add time for what she wanted to say.

When all the students were about to leave the room, Keyli made them stop for a moment. "This is about Laura, she's having a bad time, her reputation as a student at Arkenstone will be ruined, don't we, as her good friends, try to bring her back?"

"Noah immediately rejected Keyli's opinion. "You agree to let someone who gives a bad impression come back here?" "You know Laura's reputation at this school, her current situation is worrying, we can hold a fundraising event for Madam Grace and bring Laura back to this school," some students disagreed with Keyli's proposal, strongly rejecting Laura and her mother's presence at Arkenstone, as it would affect the school.

All the students left, and Keyli was left standing, feeling defeated, wondering if no one was willing to help Laura. Arkenstone didn't condone adultery, and a teacher who taught without giving a good reputation to be emulated.

Holand also didn't agree with Keyli's proposal, no matter how much Keyli asked, he still refused. Keyli felt it was useless to talk to Holand.

Keyli entered the classroom, and Jerry was beside her, seeing Laura's empty seat, feeling guilty, Jerry tried to calm Keyli down. Noah was also in the class, feeling Jerry was too worried about Keyli, feeling his idea wasn't taken seriously by Holand, Keyli was sad.

Keyli went home from school with Jerry, after Jerry contacted his mom to ask permission for Laura to go back to school, but there was no result.

"Sorry again, my mom hasn't agreed to the fundraising event, you know Arkenstone is everything to my mom," Jerry said. "You're right, I was just forcing my will, but I'm still hoping," Keyli said, pleading.

Jerry tried to calm Keyli down, hugging her, assuring her that everything would be okay.

Keyli and Jerry went to a lake, seeing a hill, accompanied by drizzle, realizing she had swimming practice that day, Keyli hurried, afraid she was late, Jerry dropped her off, and there was Holand, who also had volleyball practice.

"Thanks, Jer, you're very helpful," Keyli said, entering the building for swimming practice, passing by Holand and his friends.

Keyli swam, imagining Laura, it seemed her coach knew she wasn't doing well, Keyli had the best swimming reputation, but not this time.

Keyli came out of the practice room, and Holand was standing at the door, intentionally asking to go home together.

"Need a ride?" Holand offered, and Keyli accepted, not wanting to bother Jerry again, as her problem had taken up a lot of his time.

"You don't seem to be taking the swimming class seriously, isn't the competition starting soon?" Holand asked. "Sorry, maybe I don't have time for swimming class right now," Keyli said, holding her forehead, massaging her head.

"Why? Still thinking about the fundraising event?" Holand asked. "What do you care!" Keyli said, getting annoyed.

"If this wasn't happening to Laura, would you help?" Holand asked. "Can you stop the car?" Keyli got angrier.

"Remember, Arkenstone's reputation is in our hands now, you won't disappoint my mom, will you? After what she's done for you guys," Holand said.

"STOP NOW!" Keyli shouted, getting angrier, and Holand stopped the car. Keyli got out, making Holand annoyed, Keyli walked away, pretending not to hear Holand's shouts. Holand felt guilty after his words, letting Keyli be alone on the deserted road.

Sarah was at Claudia's bakery, which was going to be sold by Grace, she intended to buy the bakery because it had many memories with her friend, the bakery was now owned by Grace because she had paid off Claudia's debts, saving her from debt collectors when Sarah couldn't help her friend.

"You're interested in this shop, ma'am?" a familiar voice asked, a woman with a pink cardigan and a black t-shirt inside.

"Grace!" Sarah exclaimed, Grace was shocked to see Sarah at the bakery, her arrival made Grace feel ashamed, after what had happened.

Grace apologized to Sarah, feeling embarrassed, not wanting Sarah to be disappointed with her.

"I understand if you're selling the villa, but you could have told me about this bakery, I don't want the memories with Claudia to fade," Sarah said.

"Yeah, this belongs to Claudia, when Laura cried to me, hoping I could help her mom, help their family, that's when I saw my daughter's happiness," Grace said.

"Oh, I remember Claudia was busy with this bakery, she stood near the cash register with her white dress, long hair, black shoes, oh, I miss her so much. I came with my problems when I was with Jim, Claudia helped me, until I got custody of Holand, Claudia wasn't by my side anymore," Sarah cried, and Grace cried too.

"I feel like Laura hates me now, because of my mistakes," Grace said.

"You know, I'm indebted to you, when Claudia needed me, I wasn't there, I don't want to lose anyone else, Jerry doesn't talk to me anymore since I didn't allow them to hold a charity event for you, they want Laura back," Sarah said.

"Really?" Grace cried, happy that there were still people who cared about her and her daughter.

"Arkenstone's reputation is in your hands, I know Laura is a smart kid, the scholarship that brought her to Arkenstone, I don't want Jerry to be sad, I agree to it," Sarah said.

Grace was surprised and hugged Sarah, her mistakes were forgiven, she couldn't wait to tell them.

"I want to see Jerry's happy face when he knows Laura is back," Grace said.

"I'll tell my daughter, after she's locked herself in her room for days," Sarah said.

"But sorry, I..." Grace approached Sarah, trying to understand, nodding, tears streaming down her face.

Sarah left the shop and drove, trying to hurry to see Jerry, but she knew he had volleyball practice with Holand that day. Everyone in the house was busy, she was afraid of falling asleep waiting for Jerry, so she wrote a note for him.

I'll make sure the charity event and Laura happen. - Sarah.

The small note was placed on Jerry's study table, that day they were late coming home, and the next morning Jerry was still quiet, not talking to Sarah.

Keyli was about to leave, but stopped for a moment when Jerry came in, took the small note from his mom, and they shouted "yeah", hugging each other without realizing it.

Holand looked at them with an unusual gaze, as if it wasn't enough to see their affection. Keyli kissed Jerry's cheek, making his face turn red.

"Thanks, you helped a lot, I can't wait to see Laura," Jerry said, nodding, then getting into the car, still not believing what was happening.

"Can we leave now? There's a math test this morning," Elis said, bored, looking at Keyli and Jerry's affection.

Jerry immediately started the car, and they drove off, but at that moment, Holand overtook their car quickly.

"Oh, is Holand practicing racing?" Elis commented.

Holand smiled, looking at his rearview mirror, as Jerry's car almost lost control.

After dropping Elis off, Jerry and Keyli entered the class, seeing Laura was already there, they hugged.

But not Noah. "Thanks, Keyli, I owe you one," "You didn't say thanks to me," Jerry interrupted their conversation.

"Yeah, you're my friends," Laura said.

"Now Arkenstone has a new rule, forgiving those who made mistakes because of friendship," when the whole class looked at Noah, with his words, even Keyli felt cornered by Noah's words, thinking Keyli and Laura were two liars.

"Noah, are you obsessed with Laura, who's better at chemistry than you?" Keyli asked. "I'm not enough for that, I'll sacrifice myself to live with the Holland family?" Noah replied.

"Enough!" Keyli shouted. "What's next? You got into Arkenstone because of Sarah's pity? The bakery owner's daughter," Noah said.

"Keyli, ignore Noah, he's just talking," Laura said.

When the chemistry class started, the teacher was happy to see Laura there. The chemistry competition with lab tests made the teacher enthusiastic because Laura had a good reputation, before Noah was supposed to replace her.

Holand checked his camera, seeing some photos of the competition uniform design, until he stopped at a picture of Keyli and Jerry at Laura's villa, then imagined Keyli kissing Jerry that morning, making Holand annoyed, and his hand threw the camera to the floor.

Holand walked quickly, passing Keyli, and got into his car, it had been days since he last spoke to her, since that incident.
