Westfield College…
Liam's POV~
One of the most prestigious schools on the Arvona Continent.
I woke up to find myself on a bunk bed, which was strange. The last time I'd slept on one was during my college days, and that was two years ago. But there was no mistaking it—I was back in my old hostel. The blue walls, the rows of bunk beds spanning across the apartment—everything was exactly as I remembered.
But why was I here?
That's when it all came flooding back. I had regressed to when I was in Class 4, back when I was only nineteen. The reason? It was wild, actually. After graduating from Westfield College, I'd been filled with regrets. Even two years later, I was still wishing for a second chance.
Then one night, I woke up in a strange room where I met a god—or at least, something claiming to be one. He asked me if I wanted a second chance to relive my college life. I said yes. I never thought it was real. Maybe a dream, or some kind of hallucination. But this feeling… this was reality.
I lay on my side, thinking about how I'd lived my life the first time around. Perhaps this was my chance to get rid of any hesitation and truly live—no, to live my life.
Just then, I heard a sharp clanging sound. I turned toward the source—it was the house prefect, Joseph. I vaguely remembered his name. It was probably time for devotion, which usually took place around 5:00 to 5:30 in the morning.
If there was anything I wasn't looking forward to in my second chance at college, it was Joseph. I didn't hate him, and he'd never been particularly wicked toward me. If anything, I'd been more like his assistant, and that alone had been more of a curse than a blessing. I was always working, doing his job as house prefect for him.
That experience had pushed me to give up on ever becoming a house prefect myself. I'd seen enough during Class 4—continuing that way into Class 5 would've been suicidal.
End of POV~
"Liam!" Joseph called out.
Liam lazily stood up, his eyes still heavy with sleep. His body felt lighter than usual, but that made sense—he was younger now. "Yes, senior!" Liam answered calmly as he stood in front of Joseph's corner. To be honest, Liam already knew what he was about to say.
"Wake everybody else and take them downstairs for devotion!"
Liam nodded before heading back to his bed. He put on a pair of shorts and wrapped his blanket around his shoulders. It was cold, and walking around bare-chested was uncomfortable.
Before reaching Class 5, Liam had been a calm and reserved person, with just a hint of fear mixed into his respect for authority. You either had the charisma to control the juniors or you didn't. Back then, he'd often been put in charge of them, but his timid and passive nature had made him hesitant. He used to go from bed to bed, waking each person individually.
But now? He was no longer the same Class 4 Liam. He'd been through the entire school system once already. He was confident now, bold when it came to dealing with the juniors.
So instead of waking everyone himself, he woke one person from each class and told them to wake their own classmates. Anyone who refused to get up after that would be handled by him directly. After that, he woke the remaining Class 4 students who were still asleep, then made sure everyone else was up.
Luckily, only a few sleepyheads were still in bed. Without wasting time, Liam landed a sharp slap on the neck of one of them. The rest jolted awake with a burst of energy. The look on the scapegoat's face said it all: I hate you.
As Liam walked downstairs, his mind wandered. He didn't know the exact timeframe he'd regressed to. Each academic section was divided into three semesters—first, second, and third—with each semester broken into two halves. Right now, all he knew for sure was that he was in Class 4.
Liam walked into the First Apartment downstairs, where everyone had gathered. Immediately, a wave of memories hit him. Normally at this point, they would wait for him to give the signal to start. But back then, he'd always been hesitant—maybe even scared they wouldn't listen to him. Liam suddenly laughed, remembering how stupid that must have been.
"Start the devotion!" he said, then walked to the Second Apartment to check if anyone was still in bed. Luckily, it was only the assistant house rep, Isaac, who was still there. Liam quickly left so as not to disturb him.
He sat outside on the corridor while devotion continued. After about ten minutes, everything was done. Liam walked back in to make a few announcements—something he'd never tried before.
"Hostel!" Liam said calmly.
His own classmates left the gathering to do whatever they needed to do. As far as Liam wasn't acting on the house prefect's orders, or unless it was something that applied to everyone below Class 5, his classmates weren't obliged to listen to him.
"Make sure you bathe and finish your respective duties before 6:30. After that, nobody should be in the hostel. After morning dining, you all should come back and make sure your various works and duties are in order. Is that clear?"
"Yes, senior!" the students answered in unison.
Liam left, with the students from upstairs following behind him. He'd only been here a few minutes, and he'd already seen it—the current him would be ten times better than his previous self.
