Dennis's POV
I watched the polished metal doors of the fireplace elevator slide shut, obscuring Ronnie from view. The young meta was practically vibrating with excitement at the prospect of building Aegis Defense's new monolithic fortress, and I could already feel the creative fires burning through our Dawngleam bond. Taking a slow, measured breath to settle my recovered chi, I turned my attention back to the rest of the Pack gathered in the sprawling living room. The post-battle adrenaline was finally beginning to give way to the deep, heavy exhaustion of a hard-won victory.
"Okay, last few things, then we are done for the day," I announced, making sure my Level 5 Aura carried my voice with a warm, but undeniable authority. I waited for all eyes to snap to me. "I made up my mind we can do the full tactical debrief tomorrow when everyone is rested. First things first... Peter."
Peter, still perched eagerly on the armrest beside Frank, immediately straightened his posture, his gold-flecked hazel eyes wide and attentive. "Yes, Alpha?"
"Once Ben is done with his corporate briefing and finishes squaring away the Aegis contracts with Harvey and Mike, you are going home with him," I told him, keeping my tone gentle but absolutely unyielding. "And we are all going to school again starting tomorrow."
Peter's face instantly fell, a flash of genuine distress rippling across his features. "What? But Dennis, I want to stay here. We just saved the city! The team—"
"No, listen to me," I interrupted smoothly, holding up a hand. "I love having you here. You know I do. The bond hums with pure joy every single time you are in the same room as me. But you have stayed here at the mansion for almost a week now. In that entire time, you have not seen or talked to any of your friends or family, bar Ben."
I leaned closer, resting my hand lightly on his knee to soothe the spike of anxiety radiating from his end of the tether. "Do you really want me to keep messing with May's mind just to let you stay over with no questions asked? It is not fair to her, and it is a dangerous precedent for us to set. More importantly... your best friend's dad was just arrested."
Peter blinked, the superhero bravado suddenly draining away to reveal the seventeen-year-old boy beneath.
"At any moment now, his identity is going to be leaked to the press," I continued softly, pressing the reality of the situation into his mind. "You do not think you should be there for him? Harry is going to need his best friend."
I watched the realization wash over Peter, leaving him entirely speechless. He knew I was right. The heavy responsibility of his double life was finally catching up to him. And just as the silence settled over the room, the massive television suspended above the center console flared with a breaking news alert.
"We are receiving unconfirmed but highly credible rumors from sources within the NYPD," the news anchor's voice echoed through the silent room, "that the domestic terrorist known as the Green Goblin is, in fact, Oscorp CEO Norman Osborn."
Peter did not even hesitate. The spider-enhanced reflexes kicked in, and he was a blur of motion, he was out the room and sprinting up the main staircase to the residential floor to grab his phone and call Harry before anyone else could even process the broadcast.
I let out a soft sigh, feeling the sharp sting of Peter's guilt through the bond, but knowing it was a necessary growing pain. I clapped my hands together, instantly drawing the attention of Jason, Will, Roy, Angel, Flash, and Ralph.
"Okay, where was I?" I smiled, letting my emerald eyes sweep over my victorious family. "Right. We are going to be having a massive feast tonight, guys. Gordon is already prepping the kitchens. It is to celebrate our success today, and to welcome our new members who will be coming by later. That is it. You are all off the clock. Relax. Do whatever you want."
Without another word, I pushed myself off Frank's lap. I reached out, grabbing Frank's massive, calloused hand in my left, and Scott's warm, heavy hand in my right.
"Come on," I murmured to my two Rank 3 Life Partners. "You two are with me."
Scott's POV
I let Alpha pull me toward the elevator, my inner wolf practically purring at the firm, possessive grip he had on my hand. After the sheer terror of watching him take those razor-bats to the spine during the fight, just feeling the steady, thrumming pulse of his chi through his skin was the only thing keeping my feral instincts in check.
Frank flanked his other side, the Punisher moving with a silent, deadly grace that perfectly mirrored my own predatory steps. We did not ask where we were going. We did not need to. Wherever Alpha went, the Vanguard followed.
We stepped into the elevator, and Alpha hit the button for the Sublevel 4 War Room. The descent was quiet, the only sound the faint hum of the mansion's advanced quantum generators. When the doors finally hissed open, revealing the frigid, high-tech expanse of the tactical center, the massive blue holographic table was already humming to life, waiting for its master.
I stepped up to the edge of the table, crossing my arms over my broad chest. "Are you doing the recruitment now?"
Dennis's POV
"Yes, and it is a very big one were going to break it up into two groups this is the first one," I replied, releasing their hands to step up to the primary interface console. "And you two are going to help me explain the situation to all of them once they arrive. I need my Alpha wolf and my tactician to help corral the new blood."
I closed my eyes for a fraction of a second and mentally summoned the Succubus God System. The world around me shifted slightly as the familiar, glowing golden interface overlaid my vision. I checked my current status. I had exactly 1640 Sex Points sitting in my reserves—a massive fortune earned from my meticulous empire-building, the intense chi-sharing sessions with my Pack, and the completion of the Unity Festival main quest.
It was time to spend it.
First, I needed someone to run Aegis Defense's new Private Investigation division. Jason, Ralph, and Shaw were excellent field operatives, but I needed a true, uncompromising investigator to manage the overarching intelligence web. I scrolled through the multiversal registry until I found him.
*Jack Reacher. Season 1 Version. 30 Sex Points.*
The man was a hulking mass of human intuition and raw physical power. He didn't need supernatural abilities; his analytical mind and heavy fists were more than enough to terrify the criminal underworld.
Next, I needed a head for my future science team. I was originally going to have Peter take this position, but looking at how overwhelmed he was just dealing with his high school life and his new powers, it was obvious he lacked the necessary experience for now. In the future, maybe. But today, I needed a seasoned genius.
*Ray Palmer, aka The Atom. CW Arrow Series, Season 3 Version. 80 Sex Points.*
Ray was brilliant, optimistic, and his shrinking technology would absolutely revolutionize our infiltration capabilities. He would be the perfect mentor for Peter in the labs, a bright mind to balance out the darker corners of our operation.
Then, I moved to the heavy hitters. With the Chitauri invasion looming less than three months away, and the mutant factions beginning to stir under Magneto influence, I needed raw, overwhelming battlefield supremacy.
*Enji Todoroki, aka Endeavor. MHA Season 1 Version. 400 Sex Points.*
The man was a walking inferno of ambition and power. In his original world, his drive to be the best had alienated his family. But here? The Dawngleam bond would smooth out but not erase those toxic edges, redirecting his fierce, obsessive need for victory entirely toward protecting our Pack and destroying our enemies. I needed his Hellfire.
*Shota Aizawa, aka Eraser Head. MHA Season 1 Version. 150 Sex Points.*
The perfect countermeasure. His ability to simply turn off a threat's powers with a single look was an invaluable wildcard against the incoming mutant threat and hopefully any magical anomalies that might challenge my ascension. He would be the quiet shadow watching the backs of my Vanguard. I would need to see if his powers work on magic though.
Finally, I needed the foundation for the massive fortress Ronnie was currently designing. Aegis Defense could not just be a handful of superheroes; it needed a standing army. Since I already had Duke Hauser, I decided to finish the team.
*G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra Original Team. Ripcord, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Breaker, Heavy Duty, General Hawk, Cover Girl. 120 Sex Points.*
The System informed me that a same-world small group purchase granted a 20% discount. I immediately followed it up with a bulk purchase of 50 elite, highly trained combat soldiers for 100 Sex Points.
The System calculated the massive transaction, applying the synergy discount that brought the grand total to exactly 850 Sex Points. I confirmed the purchase without hesitation, watching my balance drop to 790.
"System," I commanded silently. "I want everyone from this purchase—except the fifty elite soldiers and the G.I. Joe team—to be immediately elevated to Rank 2 Companions."
*Command Confirmed. Processing Dawngleam soul-links...*
But I was not quite finished. I reached into my digital inventory and pulled out the Premium Recruitment Ticket I had earned from the Goblin quest. I knew exactly who I wanted. I needed a pure, unyielding spearhead for my Vanguard. Someone whose heart was as indestructible as his body was breakable.
*Izuku Midoriya. MHA Season 5 Version. Premium Ticket Redeemed.*
I set Izuku to Rank 2 as well. He and Peter were going to get along famously. Providing him with the emotional anchor of the Dawngleam bond would give him the stability he desperately craved, while giving me an absolute powerhouse wielding 45% of One For All and a newfound Blackwhip ability.
"the first group is done," I said aloud, opening my eyes to look at Frank and Scott. The sheer magnitude of the energy the system had just spent manipulating reality was causing the air in the War Room to crackle with static electricity. The smell of ozone and old magic flooded the subterranean chamber. "They should be here any second now."
Scott's POV
I stepped forward, my breath catching in my throat as the temperature in the War Room plummeted, only to violently spike a second later.
Alpha stood at the head of the table, his eyes glowing a vibrant, terrifyingly beautiful golden yellow. The shadows of the room seemed to bend and warp around him, drawn into his gravitational pull. This was what it meant to be bound to a God.
Suddenly, the vast, empty expanse of the War Room's deployment bay was illuminated by blinding, towering pillars of golden light. It was not just one or two; it was a veritable forest of divine energy crashing down through the reinforced ceiling, searing the air and vibrating my werewolf senses to the point of overload.
Dennis's POV
I watched with deep, soul-stirring satisfaction as the golden lights faded, leaving behind the silhouettes of my new empire.
Standing at the forefront was the towering, flame-wreathed figure of Endeavor, flanked by the slouching, scarf-wrapped form of Eraser Head and the nervous, scarred Izuku Midoriya. To their left stood the massive, imposing Jack Reacher and the civilian clothed Ray Palmer. And assembled behind them in perfect, terrifying military formation were General Hawk, Snake Eyes, the rest of the G.I. Joe strike team, and fifty heavily armed elite soldiers clad in unmarked military tactical gear.
As one, the Rank 2 Companions locked eyes with me, their pupils dilating as the golden pulse of the Dawngleam bond officially settled into their souls. The fifty soldiers snapped to attention, their boots slamming against the steel floor in perfect unison.
I smiled, feeling the absolute devotion of over sixty new souls tethering themselves to my rising godhood. The Chitauri were coming. Magneto was plotting.
But let them come. My Pantheon was only just assembling and was far from done.
