Leon's Pov
I woke up earlier than usual, but I already knew I wasn't going back to sleep.
My laptop was still open from last night, the same files sitting on the screen exactly where I left them. I stayed in bed for a few seconds, staring at it before finally getting up.
The house was quiet when I stepped out of my room. Caroline's door was open, but she wasn't inside. I slowed slightly when I passed it, then kept walking downstairs.
Marvin looked up immediately when he saw me.
"Good morning, sir."
I nodded once. "Has Caroline left already?"
"Yes, sir."
"Early."
"She left about thirty minutes ago."
I looked toward the front door briefly.
"Did she say where she was going?"
"No, sir."
I didn't ask anything else.
I headed into the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, then leaned against the counter while checking my phone.
Still nothing from Ava.
