Veronica Wilson was just fired from her job. Just when she thought things couldn't get worse, she comes across a man bleeding out in an alleyway. He calls himself Lucas Price, and he claims to be a vampire. Not only that, he asks to drink her blood so that he may live. Thinking that he's just delirious, she agrees to fulfill the last wish of a dying man. She finds out he wasn't just going crazy from blood loss, after all. 

As a fledgling vampire Veronica has to learn the ropes from Lucas. The hunters who left him near death are still in the city, waiting to deal the finishing blow. She will need to learn how to use her new super powered body and learn magic to stand a chance. It shouldn't be too hard, right?
