Ben moved through Kahndaq's crowded streets, weaving between dense streams of people until he found higher ground. From the rooftop vantage point, he scanned the surrounding blocks—and quickly spotted a squad of fully armed mercenaries.
Shazam and Cyborg had already dragged Black Adam, along with the Justice Society, out beyond the city limits. That bought them time—but it also meant Intergang and the real mastermind would seize the chance to snatch the Crown of Sabbac from the mother and her son.
Ben remembered what they looked like in the movie, sure—but this world didn't line up perfectly with film casting. Faces changed. Details drifted.
So instead of guessing, he chose the simplest method:
Follow the guns.
If he tailed Intergang's armed units, he'd reach the mother and son the moment Intergang did.
"There," Ben muttered.
He watched the mercenaries file into a small apartment building. That had to be the address.
Keeping low, Ben slipped into a neighboring building, climbed the stairwell, and stepped onto the roof. From there, he tracked the movement of Intergang's hoverbike-style flyers—listening for their engines, watching for their silhouettes.
"They haven't moved in yet…" Ben narrowed his eyes. "Did they all go out to the battlefield instead?"
For now, Intergang was only lying in wait around the area. No mass push. No breach team storming the unit.
His watch was almost off cooldown. While keeping one eye on the streets below, he activated his comms.
"Cyborg, you there? Check around the battlefield—are there a mother and son approaching?"
Cyborg responded almost immediately, his voice filtered through the link.
"Only one woman. She tried to talk to me and Shazam—she wants us to help Black Adam."
Ben exhaled sharply.
"If Superman were here, this would be a lot easier…"
Three-sided chaos: the Justice Society entrenched in their judgment, Hawkman convinced Black Adam was the source of the rot, and Black Adam—who might've been willing to stand down—now furious and unwilling to back off.
They wanted negotiations, but Hawkman and the others were already fighting with their eyes red.
Shazam was strong—roughly in Black Adam's league—but he wasn't strong enough to suppress both Black Adam and the Justice Society at the same time.
Ben forced himself to focus.
"Tell Shazam to conserve stamina and control the tempo," he said. "Drag it out. Keep losses down. I'll grab the Crown of Sabbac and then I'll come back to help."
His priority was clear: the kid holding the Crown could not fall into Intergang's hands.
Ben swept the rooftops again—
—and then his eyes caught something wrong.
Several of Intergang's flyers turned at the same time, pivoting toward his position.
The instant Ben noticed them, their engines flared and they accelerated straight at him.
"…They spotted me?" Ben clicked his tongue. "Yeah. That was too obvious."
He really did need to ask Batman for a crash course in stealth.
No time now.
Ben slammed his palm down on the Omnitrix and rotated the dial until it landed on a humanoid black silhouette.
"With all due respect to an old friend of mine," he said, "hero entrance!"
The sun was blazing. Not a cloud in the sky.
Under weather this perfect, the best choice was obvious.
"Superman."
The symbol slid onto his chest as the transformation surged through him.
Ben threw one arm skyward, welcoming the sunlight like a spotlight meant only for him.
Power flooded his body—endless, pure, rising.
He launched upward in a single bound, and blue Speed Force lightning crackled around the emblem on his chest. In the next heartbeat, Ben was already in the air, grabbing the hoverbike pilots mid-flight and holding them suspended like toys.
"Alright," he announced cheerfully, hovering in the sunlight. "Please address me as Supreme Little Superman. If the guy who normally uses the title has a problem with it, he has ten seconds to lodge a complaint in person! Ten…"
He stared at the empty sky.
"…Three, two, one. Time's up. No objections. Any future appeals can be filed with X-Superman."
Still talking to himself like an idiot, still floating there like he owned the atmosphere, Ben's Kryptonian powers kept surging as sunlight poured into him.
He descended to a safer height and casually dropped two Intergang mercs to the ground.
His mind ran the numbers with razor clarity—height, impact angle, body mass, survivability.
They'd break bones. They'd scream.
They wouldn't die.
But the medical bill—assuming Intergang didn't have magical free healthcare—would hit like a guillotine.
Ben listened.
Super hearing snapped open, mapping the world into layers of sound—breathing, footfalls, heartbeats, muffled swearing, metal clinking, boots shifting on concrete.
Inside the building, he could pinpoint every Intergang mercenary's position.
He tapped the emblem on his chest.
Blue lightning flashed over the Omnitrix icon like an obedient circuit coming online.
Ben entered a Speed Force state—
—and in the next instant, every Intergang operative in the building was unconscious.
No grand brawl. No drawn-out firefight.
Just a blur, a sequence of perfectly placed impacts, and a hallway full of bodies collapsing like someone had pulled the power cord.
Ben emerged dragging a man by the collar—the local Intergang handler, Ishmael.
He found a length of rebar, twisted it with casual strength, and bound Ishmael's wrists and ankles like he was wrapping a package.
Then Ben accelerated again, streaking to the boy—Amon—whose bag contained the Crown.
Ben hovered down in front of him, gentle as he could manage while still being a floating alien powerhouse.
"Hi," Ben said. "Could you hand over the crown in your backpack?"
Amon's eyes widened. Instinctively, he clutched the bag to his chest and tried to play dumb.
"What crown?"
Ben understood the fear. Amon's mother had told him to keep it hidden—told him it was important.
And it was.
A crown that could grant the power of six hell-demons wasn't something a kid should ever have to carry.
Ben didn't want to bully him. He kept his voice calm.
"No need to deny it," Ben said. "I've got X-ray vision. I can see what's in there. Relax—I'm not taking it to use it. I'm taking it to destroy it."
Amon blinked, his suspicion mixing with awe.
"Are you Superman? Why is your symbol different? And… you look like you're my age."
Ben smiled, confident and completely shameless.
"I'm not the Superman you know," he said. "But I am a member of the Justice League."
He spread his arms like a celebrity at a press conference.
"You can call me—Supreme Little Superman."
