"Are you Superman's son?"
Amon stared at the boy who called himself Little Superman, eyes shining with curiosity.
"Don't talk nonsense," Ben waved him off immediately. "Superman and I are friends. I just happen to have his powers."
As one of the Justice League's founders, Ben had zero intention of randomly dropping a generation in seniority.
"Can you help Adam?" Amon asked anxiously.
He still wasn't sure who this "Little Superman" really was—but if the guy was Superman's friend, then he probably wasn't a villain.
Ever since Black Adam woke up, Amon had been trying to convince him to become a hero. In Amon's mind, with that kind of power, Adam could be a hero on Superman's level.
"If he can calm down," Ben said, "we're absolutely willing to talk."
Amon's face lit up.
"That's great! Then let's go—now!"
Outside Kahndaq, on the hills
Hawkman and Doctor Fate hadn't backed off. Atom Smasher and Cyclone had joined the fight as well, pressing Black Adam in a widening circle of violence.
Shazam looked like he was developing a headache in real time.
He and Cyborg could help Black Adam fend them off… but Black Adam clearly felt Shazam's power source and treated him as an enemy too.
If Shazam and Cyborg committed, they risked a nightmare scenario:
JSA + Black Adam turning on them at the same time.
Then—
"Guys! Sorry I'm late!"
A blur of motion—Ben arrived with Amon beside him, and he casually tossed a rebar-bound Ishmael onto the dirt like a dropped bag of trash.
He guided Amon back to his mother and explained quickly:
"I cleared Intergang's ambush near your home and grabbed their leader. Ran into your kid on the way—figured there might be more Intergang lurking, so I brought him here too."
Then Ben's gaze snapped to the battle.
Atom Smasher had grown into a giant and pinned Black Adam with a massive fist—only for Adam to lift it and knock him out with a single brutal uppercut.
Cyclone whipped up a sandstorm to stall him.
It didn't.
Hawkman and Doctor Fate dove again.
Ben made a call instantly.
"Shazam, Cyborg—hold Hawkman and Doctor Fate. I'll get Black Adam to stop."
He'd had over a minute of sunlight soaking into him. His Kryptonian kit was fully online now, and his strength was still climbing. With the Omnitrix's Speed Force support layered on top, Ben was confident he could physically check Black Adam.
Cyborg didn't hesitate.
"Your move."
Not because he'd run the odds.
Because Ben was currently running on Superman-grade hardware.
Even if Ben couldn't reach the real Superman's ceiling, "close" was already terrifying.
Ben vs. Black Adam
"Black Adam," Ben said, appearing in front of him in an instant, "we need to talk."
Up close, the physique was ridiculous—professionally ridiculous. Ben almost felt jealous.
Black Adam's eyes narrowed.
"You're here to make me surrender too?"
The Wisdom of Thoth made him more than a brawler. He read posture, intent, and threat like a language.
The boy in front of him looked fifteen. But Black Adam could tell he was dangerous—same category as the one hovering at the edge of the field: Shazam.
And yet Shazam hadn't rushed him with the others.
That inconsistency kept Black Adam wary.
Ben kept his tone steady and clear.
"We can sit down and talk. This world needs your strength."
Black Adam hesitated—genuinely, visibly.
That wasn't the script he'd been given by Hawkman's group.
Ben's super-intelligence spun through the field situation and the political smell of it.
He didn't know every version of the Justice Society. But he knew this pattern.
Show up because someone in power calls you. Declare someone a "potential threat." Try to neutralize them before they become inconvenient.
Ben said it bluntly.
"The heroes who were active during wartime? A lot of them got absorbed by the countries they served. The Justice League isn't the Justice Society—we don't work as anybody's tool. We stop invasions. Any invasions."
Black Adam's hostility eased slightly—but the suspicion didn't leave his eyes.
He scanned the field, confirming alliances. Ben, Shazam, Cyborg—same side.
That was a problem.
"The wizard's successor," Black Adam said slowly. "He's with you?"
"Yes," Ben answered without dodging. "The wizard told us to stop the darkness from waking."
Black Adam's gaze sharpened.
Ben pointed to the man bound on the ground—Ishmael—and in that moment he made the executive decision to steer the truth into the shape that mattered.
Because right now, he had Superman's power.
And he intended to use it to force the conversation onto the real threat.
"I think the wizard meant this," Ben said, voice calm and final. "The one trying to use the Crown of Sabbac."
