The Tale of Sevartz: Part 2 Full Summary
The Betrayal and the Mission
Three months after the events of Part 1, Nazosaki Sevartz is living with Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse reveals that during the Royal Selection, they must kidnap a "silver-haired girl with purple eyes" named Tia. Sevartz realizes he has the information he needs and turns on Betelgeuse. After 500 attempts using his "return by death" ability, he finally kills him by stabbing him in the heart and cutting his throat.
Building an Evil Team
Sevartz meets a blue-haired woman named Aiko, who hated Betelgeuse and invites Sevartz to meet her sibling, Elsa. In the kingdom of Hametsu, Sevartz finds a book about a Flame Dragon living in Mt. Okotsu. The trio travels there and finds the massive beast. Sevartz makes a deadly deal:
The Deal: The Dragon will burn the entire country in three days.
The Cost: Sevartz must deliver the souls of all Sin Archbishops and Priests within two days.
The Penalty: The Dragon places a "curse of slavery" on them; if they fail, all three die.
The Massacre of the Sins
The group begins a ruthless hunt:
Lust: They burn the Archbishop of Lust alive after Elsa cuts her legs, Aiko cuts her hands, and Sevartz cuts her eyes.
Greed: They find the Archbishop of Greed is no longer invincible and burn him and his wives alive.
Wrath & Pride: They systematically kill the remaining priests. The Priest of Wrath, who could stop time, is killed after Sevartz creates a secret plan to attack at night.
Becoming the "Ultimate Villain"
Sevartz's goal is to make Tia the Queen. To do this, he gives all credit for killing the "Sin ones" to a random knight in Tia's service. Sevartz then begins a mass slaughter to make himself the world's greatest enemy. He claims to have "returned by death" over 400,000 times to gather information. In 7 days, 100 million people are killed, and the kingdom is engulfed in flames.
The Fall of the Sword Saint
Reinhardt van Astrea confronts Sevartz, furious over the destruction and the murder of the Van Astrea family. Reinhardt is so powerful he refuses to draw his sword. After 100,000 failed attempts to kill him physically, Sevartz realizes Reinhardt is protected by thousands of divine blessings. He decides to break Reinhardt mentally instead:
Sevartz taunts Reinhardt, calling him a "hero by name only" who couldn't even save his own family or country despite his power.
Reinhardt is left broken, shaking, and in tears. Elsa and Aiko stay behind to handle the weakened Reinhardt while Sevartz runs to find Tia.
The Final Sacrifice
Sevartz finally meets Tia, who demands he stop. Sevartz plays the part of the monster to the end, claiming to be the Sin Priest of Pride and the man who destroyed everything.
Tia attacks him with a frozen spear spell, impaling him through the chest.
As he lies dying, Sevartz says, "I love you."
Because he died "satisfied," his Return by Death ability stops working, resulting in a permanent death.
The Aftermath (What Happened After)
Tia: Having killed the "Ultimate Villain," she is hailed as the ultimate hero and becomes the Queen.
Reinhardt: He eventually kills Elsa and Aiko, but he gives up his title as the Sword Saint out of shame. He marries a girl named Mary and lives a normal life in the country of Makino.
Aiko & Elsa: It is revealed they both had a secret crush on Sevartz throughout the journey.
