After greeting Kai, the Song siblings anchored themselves to the Sanctuary of Noctis, now every time they went to the Dream Realm, they would go to this Citadel.
Then, they immediately left the Sanctuary right after.
It was the second Island that they were walking through. While walking towards a separate flowing Island on the gargantuan chain that connected it to the other, Kai was really confused as to why the siblings insisted on doing this, Sunny had a flying Echo after all, there was no need to go on foot.
"Ahhhh… Why are we going there?"
Sunny was surprised by the question, until he remembered Kai probably wasn't informed about the whole story between Valor and Song.
"To not be vulnerable, and to not show Sunny's Shadow in all its glory. We don't want Valor following us."
Seishan answered, but her explanation didn't cleanse Kai's confused expression, so Sunny clarified.
"So that Valor doesn't try and kill us."
Sunny said it in such a non-chalant tone that Kai immediately snapped his head towards him, bewildered and baffled.
Sunny let out a chuckle, giving his friend a smirk. Seishan, meanwhile, sighed and led her hand to her head in frustration over her brother's antics.
"What my dear brother means Nightingale, is that us being here is a risk in itself due to being a territory of Valor. They may try to assassinate us since we are the matriarch's children."
The charming archer shivered.
"Wait, I thought it was just a rivalry, you mean the Great Clans…"
"Will go to war and kill each other? Pretty much. I already dealt with some assassination attempts when I was young… But they all failed."
Sunny's calm voice as he told Kai how he almost died in his childhood made the archer look at his friend with a frightened expression.
"Either way, I doubt anyone of the White Feather Clan will actually try to kill us, Sky Tide doesn't care about the rivalry between the Clans that much. Plus, at this point, Anvil knows that he lost his chance at killing us, so we are relatively safe."
Sunless' statement caused even more confusion on the poor archer.
"Then why are you worried about assassins? Why even come here in the first place? And how did your mother even let you?!"
Sunny raised three fingers as he answered the questions one by one while walking up the chain.
"First, because there are still the Clan's elders that might try to do something fearing our talent since we are survivors of the Forgotten Shore, who also led the Army. Not to mention foolish members that will try their luck in killing us in search of personal glory."
Lowering one of the fingers, he continued.
"In my case, because Nephis asked, and I want to make sure all of you fools survive. For Seishan… Ask her, I don't know."
He lowered the second finger.
"And finally, our mother has her ways to make sure we are safe."
He lowered his hand as they reached their destination, the island was simple, nesting multiple dense ruins of buildings, serving as a transitional island for travel. Sunny turned to Kai, who seemed to understand based on his face.
"On a personal note, I was always interested in the Chained Isles, so now that I have a political excuse to come here, it is a win-win for me."
Kai sighed, scratching his head in something akin to frustration.
"What have I gotten myself into…?"
Sunless smirked.
"A big mess that…"
He hesitated, sighing as he sensed shadows moving in the buildings.
"... We have to clean…"
Seishan nodded, looking around with a frown.
"For heirs of the Goddess of Logic, they are an impatient bunch."
Kai widened his eyes and began summoning his bow, understanding the implication.
But Seishan raised her arm to stop him.
Turning her head to gaze at his eyes, she spoke with a composed tone.
"This is our conflict, you have nothing to do with this, please, just wait for us to finish this, Nightingale."
Kai returned her gaze with worry and hesitation.
"But-"
Sunny interrupted him.
"Why are you so worried? Did you forget Kai?"
The Hollow Death summoned his odachi, brandishing [BloodRaven] in a well of white sparks until the Black crimson blade fully emerged.
"We dealt with worse."
The charming archer hesitated, but eventually sighed.
"Alright, be careful… And Seishan?"
She turned to Kai while summoning her claws.
"I told you to not call me Nightingale. We're friends, aren't we?"
He tried giving her a confident smile, but it ended up being a nervous one.
But it didn't matter, Seishan's surprise was still evident. She returned the smile with a sweet, small one.
"Of course, Kai…"
With the confirmation, the charming archer activated his Aspect and flew upwards to the sky.
Sunless turned to his sister unamused.
"When you said you'd marry a handsome celebrity, I didn't think it would be my friend."
Seishan glared daggers at her brother.
"Shut it! I was sixteen and we are about to fight!"
"Alright, but for the record, you didn't deny it."
She grunted, almost hitting the back of his head before sighing, closing her eyes and breathing in and out.
Opening her red blood eyes, Seishan grew a relaxed, sinister smile.
"Hm… Around fourteen?"
The shadows on Sunless' hollow eyes seemed to grow deeper, and his expression became empty.
"Fifteen. I think you missed the one behind us, climbing the chain."
"So it seems… Their Ranks?"
Sunless thought for a moment before answering.
"Looks like they are Awakened, but the one on the chain… Seems to be a Master, an arrogant one too, he is taking his time."
Seishan hummed.
"How about we test your newfound strength, little brother?"
Sunless smirked, summoning his new Memory, the [Shadow Lantern] and attaching it to his waist.
"Sure, just try to keep up, elder sister, my mind is going crazy after I became a Tyrant."
Her sinister smile grew wider.
Seishan began to walk towards the ruins, her beautiful red dress striking against the old buildings infested with vegetation. She walked on the center of the road, leaving her open to attacks, just like she wanted.
Her brother summoned the helmet of the [Stone Shell],tookawaythecapeofthe [Mantle of Shadows],and taking one step forward…
He disappeared into the shadows.
—
The island was relatively small, only being a kilometer long, with the overgrown ruins taking most of the space.
Sunless passed through the shadows using his Awakened Ability, quickly traveling between the buildings. His destination was the tallest building in the island, sensing a shadow present there.
He ordered four of his shadows away, each moving towards the presences he felt moving through the island. Happy, Creepy, Haughty and the new shadow, Naughty, name given because it seemed… Naughty, followed his orders and traveled. Gloomy stayed in case he needed it.
The assassins seemed to have planned this, but there was no way they would know Sunny and Seishan would have come to this specific island, they would still be preparing.
After becoming a Tyrant, something changed in his mind, it was like he could separate his concentration into multiple parts. Multi tasking became easier, but more importantly, it seemed he could understand shadows much more easily, given how it was easier to put himself into his shadows shoes… He would need to test it in his Shadows.
His theory about the assassins was proven correct as a figure appeared on the highest tower on the island, summoning a bow and arrow. What was interesting was that Sunny couldn't see him, only feel his movements through Shadow Sense.
'Cancellment Aspect…'
He didn't waste any time. Pouring more essence into his Aspect, letting him travel faster through the shadows and piercing through the buildings easier. Until eventually he reached the tower, climbing it in the dark side of the building that was being obscured by shadows.
Reaching the top, he entered the room where the figure was, but he didn't appear, Sunless stayed hidden in the shadows of the dark room, watching as the assassin drew his bow.
He was wearing a gray cloak, and had a focused expression on his scarred face.
Sunny reduced his essence usage, only using enough to keep him inside the shadows, he was already draining more than half of his new core.
On the other sides of his mind, Sunless saw three groups of Awakened hiding in buildings.
Happy was in a shattered cathedral, the group consisted of five armored warriors who had just entered the building, they seemed composed, the one who seemed like the leader was putting his hand on his ear as if he had a communicator.
Creepy was stalking four wearing hunter outfits and were circulating the city.
Haughty found the final group with the rest of the Awakened a few meters behind Seishan, following her by hiding on the buildings and changing position if she walked too far, but not attacking, a hint of fear plastered in their eyes. Sunny would be scared too in their position, their target, who knew they were there, seemingly ignored them with all the calm in the world.
Naughty, on the other hand, had gone back to where Sunny and Seishan entered the island, there, a tall, muscled man had just arrived, the Master.
He had a strong build and broad shoulders, his stubble beard and ugly expression showed someone who had been through a lot. Instead of normal armor, he wore a brown fur coat made of dead nightmare creatures with leather armor covered with the same fur, covering most of his skin, but leaving his arms exposed. He wielded a one sided axe with scriptures embedded on the blade.
His appearance reminded Sunny of the Greek Demigod Heracles, who in the myths used the skin of the Crimean Lion opposed to normal armor, for the lion's skin was impenetrable.
'Either that is a unique Armour Memory, or the guy is just a weirdo.'
With all threats identified, Sunny began to listen as the assassins from Valor communicated with each other via a set of Memories.
The tall Master began, his voice deep and imposing.
"Status of the targets."
His order was received by the others, the archer in front of Sunny answered.
"I can see the Princess sir, she's walking through the courtyard."
The leader of Haughty's group also answered, backing the archer.
"We can confirm, following her as we speak, it seems she noticed something is wrong."
The Master squinted his eyes.
"And the boy?"
The archer hesitated, but answered.
"No sighting yet."
All groups shared the statement, none could find the Prince of Song.
Little did they know their second target was right beside all of them… In a way. Sunny chuckled, smiling inside the shadows.
The Master gripped his axe tighter.
"What's the location of the girl?"
The archer regained his composure and began reporting.
"She's approaching the main courtyard, a few meters away from the cathedral."
The Master began to walk forward.
"As soon as she comes close, surround her."
All groups confirmed the orders. The knights at the cathedral readied their weapons, preparing to burst open the grand doors.
The assassins on the outskirts of the city immediately advanced towards the center of the city.
The group following Seishan began to get closer and closer…
[Blood: "Did they find you?"]
[Shadow: "Nah, they remembered I'm a master of stealth and there's no way they'll ever find me."]
[Blood: "Hmhm, is there something I need to know?"]
[Shadow: "Oh, right, they are planning to ambush you at the cathedral"]
[Shadow: "I mean, the remains of the cathedral, that thing is falling apart."]
Seishan stopped, the cathedral was steps away, and she could feel a faint scent of blood coming from it.
She smiled, knowing what would happen, she continued to walk forward like she knew nothing.
The archer suddenly became worried as his target suddenly smiled for no discernable reason, but he soon regained his composure, he knew he was the only one who could possibly have noticed her action, he was ready to communicate the occurrence.
But he was too late, his shadow had been killed already.
Sunless ignored the message of the Spell as he was already receiving various others from the kills Wraith was doing in the caves of the Jade Palace. With his new mind as a Tyrant, it became easier to separate the messages.
He threw the body of the Valor archer aside and contacted his sister once again.
[Shadow: "I'll leave the ones in the cathedral to you."]
With this, Sunny let the shadows on the room of the tower grow deeper, bigger, slowly and methodically.
The Haughty's and Creepy's groups were converging on Seishan's position. Naughty saw as the Master walked the same road as her, not caring if he was seen or not, in fact, he wanted to be seen.
The two groups finally met, giving up on their hiding positions to dash in the Princess' direction, brandishing their weapons and not hiding their bloodlust.
At the same time, the grand cathedral doors burst open, from within, the armored Awakening were ready to attack.
However, Seishan knew.
As soon as the doors opened, she turned towards them and dashed, going through the Awakened to enter the shattered cathedral.
One of the soldiers tried to stop her… He merely tried, losing his head in the process.
The four armored knights staggered as they saw the headless body of their companion fall to the ground. But they steeled their resolve and turned towards the Princess- no, the monster.
Seishan had transformed into her monstrous form. As the horrendous, yet elegant slender woman raised herself and glared her red eyes to the soldiers, an equally elegant and bone-chilling voice escaped her sharp perfect teeth.
"Fools."
Outside, the eight Awakened assassins tried to get into the cathedral to help their companions, but they were stopped by the scream of their leader.
"TAKE COVER!"
They turned to the Master, not understanding why he, who was still down the road, screamed for them to hide, not to mention why he looked so worried and desperate.
But the grand shadow that slowly covered the courtyard cleared all their questions.
An enormous raven appeared on the top of the tower that observed the whole city, its body armored, the wings opening like giant clouds of impenetrable shadows. A great mist of darkness accompanying it.
The being's dark eyes glared at all below, but not a single noise came from the flying creature. Instead, the raven enclosed its wings, hugging its own body.
As it did, the big mist of shadows quickly fell like a cascading waterfall, spreading through the courtyard.
"GET OUT OF THERE!"
But the warnings of the Master were useless, the Awakened were too slow.
The raven's dark wings suddenly snapped open, unleashing torrents of black lightning.
A storm of lightning strikes tore through the ruined city, the Awakened tried to escape and hide, but only a few managed to escape.
The rest were struck down by the lightning of the great raven, being electrocuted on the very ground they stood.
Those who were able to dodge were engulfed by the mist of shadows, their fate was much the same.
The dark Heir of Death swiftly cut them down.
Moving in the shadows, Sunless executed every Awakened stunned by Dreadwing's strikes and those that tried to run away. Having recalled every one of his five shadows and empowering himself in them, it was easy, especially with Serpent in its tattoo form, improving his essence.
The six Awakened that managed to survive Dreadwing's attack died by the hands of an Awakened Tyrant of shadows, empowered five times by his power and his Shadow.
It was a massacre.
—
Dorian could only hear helplessly as his men and women were cut down by whatever the Prince of Song was, whatever was happening in that mist of shadows, he wouldn't be able to do much.
He had heard the reports of the Forgotten Shore, the elder of Valor told him how insidious the children of the witch were, yet, nothing had prepared him for what he had witnessed.
If someone told him he was fighting against an elite Master, he would believe it.
He couldn't do anything, his Aspect wasn't suited for this, it was meant to give him near inexhaustible strength and stamina in combat.
The original plan was for the Awakened to ambush both siblings and force them on the defensive, making them summon their Echoes, then he would appear with his own Echoes to turn the tide.
However, when the boy was nowhere to be found, Dorian knew he was probably stalking them somewhere, he figured it would be better to rush and eliminate at least the elder sister and return with half a prize.
His scout, Mako, was probably already dead, in fact, he may have been the first to die, he should have put more people with him, now… Dorian had to do this alone.
He wasn't foolish, it didn't matter if he was a Master, he knew this wouldn't be an easy battle, the massacre in front of him proved that.
The sounds finally died out, along with the last of his allies, his hope was that his people in the cathedral that were facing the Lost Princess of Song were faring better.
A lone figure wearing a dark uniform stepped out of the shadows, a helmet made of black stone on his head, darkness pouring out of the slit visor. Wielding a dark crimson blade with not a single drop of blood on his hand.
The mist of shadows stayed still behind him, and the grand raven stood on top of the tower.
The Son of the Raven Queen...
'To think this is a mere Awakened…'
Forget Divine Lineage and son of Song, the boy in front of him was a walking calamity. Dorian couldn't allow him to leave this place, let alone allow him to Ascend, otherwise…
The Master sharpened his gaze and gripped his axe. His arrogance allowed his squad to be wiped out, that won't happen again.
He summoned the three Echoes given to him by his master, two Ascended, one Transcendent. He could see now why he had been given such powerful monsters.
The three Echoes manifested themselves onto the battlefield, the two Ascended beings flanked Dorian, the one on his right was a slender marionette with twelve arms, each one ended with sharp blades capable of cleaving armor. On his left, a big leopard-like abomination with razor sharp teeth and a saw blade at the end of its tail.
And finally, the Transcendent Beast behind him looked like a simple, normal polar bear, it was anything but. Glacial armor and three meters tall, it was a force to be reckoned with.
Dorian walked forward, ready to meet his opponent.
"Don't think this will be easy, you damn spawn of the Queen of Worms!"
—
"... Spawn of the Queen of Worms!"
On the outside, Sunless stared at the Master, an unreliable body language plastered on him, his helmet portrayed no emotion, only cold, calculating bloodlust…
… On the inside, however…
'You bastard! Mongrel! Pest! Good for nothing slave for Valor! Mothe****er! Fur loving maniac! I should…'
He continued to curse the Master internally for some more seconds.
'How dare you call my mother the QuEen oF wOrms?! She's the Raven Queen you neantherthall! Don't you know basic courtesy?!'
Sunny really hated when someone from Valor called Ki Song that title only made to insult the Song's Sovereign, it's not like they called Anvil the King of Fools! The man might be an asshole, but at least Song can respect how much Anvil conquered in his life.
Either way, distancing his mind from the anger he felt, Sunny analyzed the situation.
Three Echoes, he couldn't tell their rank as Echoes didn't have shadows, but from the looks of it, they were at least Ascended.
'Is that why you were so arrogant? Well, I wouldn't blame you… If you hadn't insulted my mother you bastard! Arrogant fool!'
Shaking his head, he focused on the situation again.
It was funny, the first time he was fighting a Master, one with various powerful Echoes, and he wasn't even a bit scared, he was kind of thrilled really. Well, to be fair, he only allowed himself to feel that way because of his Shadows.
As the Master approached Sunless carefully with his Echoes, two shapes started growing beneath him, both in the shape of knights.
Saint and Igris had arrived on the battlefield.
Their presence alone already made the Master stiffen, but now with the other shape growing behind him… He was almost terrified for a moment.
Sunny released Serpent from his tattoo form and put him behind him, ordering the Shadow being to transform into the shape of a powerful nightmare creature.
Sunny had a couple of options to choose from, now that Wraith had killed various abominations of different Ranks and Classes in the caves of the Jade Palace, it could take the form of dozens, if not hundreds of different nightmare creatures.
His pool was currently limited to Serpent's own Rank and Class of course, he couldn't just summon the Fallen Titan he had slain and be done with it. No, it had to be at maximum a Fallen Tyrant, but he didn't summon one, the best he had were ones that weren't made for a battle like this, like the Lord of the Dead.
So he chose a more familiar… Deadlier foe… A Fallen Devil.
Serpent rose from the ground, assembling into the form of an almost three meters tall Knight with a greatsword on his right hand.
The Forsaken Knight.
The Master took a step back as three powerful dark Knights appeared on Sunny's side. All the while the great raven still stood on the back, watching.
Yet he seemingly steeled himself, instead of advancing, the Master stood his ground, his Echoes in battle position.
Sunny chuckled, a Master afraid of what an Awakened can do, what a comedy. Or was he wise? Knowing his enemy could easily outmanuver him.
If that was the case, Sunless could outsmart him, only needing to do one thing, choose a style to fool the Master. And he chose one deadly and precise, built on the foundation of unquestionable technique. The style of his teacher, Frostblade.
And so, he gripped his odachi with both his hands and glared at his foe.
After a couple of heartbeats, Sunless activated Shadow Step and moved forward.
The Master immediately tensed and put his guard up, looking around, waiting for the Prince of Song to appear.
But the Shadows didn't stay still, Saint and Igris dashed forward, Serpent in the Forsaken Knight's form followed them, even if he was slower.
Right after, Sunless raised himself from the shadows and slashed his sword towards the Valor's Master, right in front of him, no distractions or misdirection, just a straight forward fight.
A surprised expression sprouted from the face of the Master, but it was soon replaced with focused wrath. Rising his axe to meet the Prince of Song.
The blades of the weapons collided, causing a flurry of sparks as each stood their ground, causing a short bind to take place.
But soon Sunless reflected the axe and exchanged blows with his opponent. The Master was able to meet his strength somehow, maybe due to his Aspect or some Memory.
But Sunny couldn't think of that at the moment, the two Echoes flanking the Master advanced against him. The marionette slashing its blades vertically, the leopard jumped fangs first.
However, Sunny already anticipated to be in such a position, taking one step back, he delved once again in the comfort of shadows.
Allowing Dreadwing to bombard the Master and his summonings.
Once he used it against the Awakened, Sunless quickly noticed one flaw with Dreadwing's lightning strikes: they weren't focused enough. Ideal for the area of attacks, but risked friendly fire.
As such, he consciously rushed in the defensive formation of the Master and attacked, gaining the attention of the Echoes and clumping them up together, letting Dreadwing's attack tear them all down.
As black lightning fell on his enemies, Sunny exited the shadows, appearing just outside the range of his own Shadow's elemental attack and as he did, his other Shadows passed by him.
And as soon as the two Shadow Knights reached their enemies, Dreadwing ceased his attack.
Saint and Igris had an elemental resistance against lightning, but considering Dreadwing was a Devil, Sunny would rather not test their limits, especially because he didn't need to.
Even if they weren't destroyed, the Echoes were still staggered due to the lightning attack that came from an Ascended Devil, they would take some time to recover. And the duo of Saints didn't waste the opportunity.
Saint lunged against the leopard Echo, slamming her shield on its face, forcing it down and raising her sword. Like a guillotine, it fell, tearing the skin of the Echo.
The marionette was faster, recovering to meet the male Shadow Saint that was charging at it with its twelve blades. But Igris just ignored all the pitiful blades, blocking most of them and thrusting his sword deep into the Echo's metal skin.
The last Echo, the one looking like a big polar bear, wasn't dazed or incapacitated. It had its back pointed towards the sky, the fur burnt due to the lightning strikes.
The bear rose, arching its back to reveal a human with fur armor. The Master, completely harmless, it had been protected by the Echo.
But what really worried Sunless was the fact the bear was relatively fine. The leopard and the marionette were battered, broken, they would be destroyed soon, but the bear? To be completely fine upon receiving a barrage of attacks from an Ascended Devil?
Sunless' eyes widened, and he cursed inside his mind.
'A Transcendent Echo… Just my luck.'
Valor really wasn't pulling any punches. Thankfully, the Echo's class seemed to be really low, if a Devil could still harm it.
The now upright bear unleashed its claws against the Shadows Saints, striking them simultaneously and pushing them aside.
Both Saints slid through the ground, Igris looked up in contained wrath, Saint, in cold indifference.
But unfortunately for the Master, his two other Echoes were nothing but white sparks.
He didn't seem to care much as he walked forward sharpening his eyes towards the Prince of Song.
Sunny couldn't help but twitch his head to the side.
Only then did he notice the Master wasn't looking at him, but at the giant Knight behind him.
'Yeah, I don't like your chances either.'
Serpent rushed forward, brandishing the enormous greatsword of the Forsaken Knight and raising it to make a vertical slash, aiming it at the human Ascended.
At the same time, the Master folded his knees, and began to run, seemingly going to meet the blade and kill himself.
But as the greatsword was half-way into its arc, a mouth full of icy fangs bit the black blade. The bear struggled against the Knight, despite being a whole Rank higher, the Serpent was still a Devil, one that had the powers of the Forsaken Knight, letting him contend with the Transcendent Echo.
The Master, meanwhile, dashed past the Knight at an unprecedented speed and went straight to his enemy, stretching his left arm and summoning another weapon, the shape of a sword slowly appearing on his hand.
Sunless noticed his opponent's speed increased, and immediately decided to switch styles, deciding he wouldn't contest with the Master in strength. The probability of him having a body amplification Aspect just increased.
He went back to his usual style, Revel's style.
The Master swinged his axe horizontally, only to meet nothing but air.
Sunless entered the shadows, dancing around him and appearing behind the Master, striking him.
But the herculean man was able to dodge by jumping forward and rolling on the ground, twisting his body once he got up, turning to face his enemy…
But his enemy changed suddenly.
Gone was the slender boy with the uniform.
Now he was facing a female Knight.
Saint sliced her sword towards the Master, almost cutting his eye if he hadn't moved sideways to dodge.
He cursed loudly and activated his Aspect once again, gaining a strength and speed boost, charging against Saint without hesitation.
In response, Sunny, hidden in the shadows, sent one shadow to empower Saint, he was sure she would be able to defeat him.
Turning his attention to the battle between Serpent and the Transcendent Echo, it seemed that they were equals, well, sort of, Serpent was holding his own, but he was being carried by the Forsaken Knight's power, it was a stalemate.
But Sunny couldn't have a stalemate, he needed to finish the battle here and now.
Going to Igris, who was on his way to support Serpent, the silent Knight stopped and regarded his master with a heavy gaze. Sunless didn't mind, immediately summoning a Memory that he gained not too long ago.
[Promise of Mercy] manifested in his hand. Its long black shaft is crowned by a cruel, spear-shaped blade of dark steel, etched with intricate gothic carvings that resemble snarling faces and twisted spirits. Beneath the blade hangs a tattered black banner that flutters like a funeral shroud, turning the lance into both a weapon and a symbol of dread. It came from a Transcendent Demon, it was extremely powerful.
Sunny transferred three of his shadows to the spear, then put his last one on Igris. Then, he gave the spear to his Shadow.
Giving a mental command to Igris, he immediately dropped his sword and grabbed the black spear.
The fight between the giant black knight and the white bear caused destruction to come across the ruined city, they breaked through the buildings like they were glass. The black greatsword slashing the ice filled skin of the Echo, chiming through the resistance little by little.
It wasn't enough. But the lance on the other hand...
Igris reversed gripped the [Promise of Mercy] and raised the spear high, aiming it at the Transcendent Echo's head.
'Go.'
The ground cracked, the air rippled, the spear was launched. A Transcendent lance, empowered by three shadows, empowered by an Ascended Stone Saint.
And Igris didn't miss.
The bear's head was pierced and destroyed immediately on contact. Its body disappearing in a well of white sparks.
Sunless was surprised, he expected to kill it, but not vaporize its head. Turning to Igris, the Shadow simply rolled his arm, like it was something he hadn't done in a long time, and yet he still hit it easily.
'Scary…'
Waking up to reality, he turned to where Saint and the Master were fighting, and the sight… Was satisfying.
The Shadow had slashed her opponent's hand away.
He retreated various steps from Saint, at the same time, his eyes opened wide, he must have received the message that his Echo was completely destroyed.
Sunny couldn't help but chuckle, approaching the wounded Master
"What did you say again? Something among the lines of: 'It won't be that easy'?"
Saint sliced his other arm as he was distracted. A startled scream escaped his mouth as blood began flowing out of him.
"Well, compared to what I've been through, it was pretty easy."
The Master cursed, anger boiling inside of him.
Then, a Memory started appearing in his mouth…
Only for Sunless to thrust [BloodRaven] through his heart.
"Don't think I'll let you do anything funny, I don't take chances."
The Master looked down in horror as the dark crimson odachi pierced his chest, he wasn't able to do anything anymore.
He died, having failed in his mission.
— —
Inside the cathedral, Seishan held one of the Awakened by the neck, he was only unconscious, despite the amount of blood covering him, he was still alive.
He was the last one, the rest were all dead, all by her hands of course.
But she deliberately kept this one alive, because he seemed to know the most.
"Let's see… Who in Valor came after us this time."
