Chapter 25 - The demon

The battlefield had collapsed into chaos. The sky was fractured like shattered glass, and the earth below was soaked in ruin.Creatures surged endlessly from the darkness—twisted forms, howling with hunger and rage.Yet at the center of it all—there was control.

Two Sovereigns stood side by side.Silent.Unmoving.

Behind one, countless swords floated in perfect stillness—each blade humming faintly as if alive.Around the other, dark corrosive water spread slowly across the ground, devouring everything it touched.

Then—they moved.

The swords shot forward. Not wildly. Not blindly. Each blade carved its own path—piercing eyes, severing limbs, striking only where it mattered.Creatures fell in sequence, one after another,as if they had already been chosen for death.

At the same time—the water expanded.Flowing low across the battlefield.Creatures stepped into it—and began to decay.Their flesh dissolved, their movements slowed, their bodies collapsing before they could even scream.

The battlefield changed.Paths were cut by blades.Movements were restricted by water.Creatures were no longer attacking freely. They were being controlled.

Sanctified warriors moved in.Fighting in perfect timing.Striking only when openings appeared.

Sunny stepped forward. His wings flared. His grip tightened around his sword.

And then—he moved.

Fast.Sharp.Precise.

A creature lunged.Sunny stepped inside its attack. His blade flashed—clean, efficient. It fell instantly.

Another came.He didn't stop.

He advanced like a tyrant.

Each step carried weight.Each strike carried intent.Not reckless.Not wild.Dominant.

He cut through creatures one after another. His breathing steady. His eyes locked forward.

Then—for a moment—he glanced.

At them.

The Sovereigns.

Swords weaving through enemies like extensions of thought.Water consuming entire groups without resistance.

Sunny's chest tightened.

"…So this is true control…"

He turned back—and pushed harder.

His movements sharpened. His timing improved. He adapted.

The battle escalated.

More creatures arrived.Stronger.Faster.More violent.

Even the Sanctified began to slow.

The swords moved faster. The water surged wider.

But it wasn't enough.

A massive creature broke through.Then another.Then many.

The battlefield trembled.The balance shifted.

Signals spread.

Retreat.

Initiates pulled back first.Exalted followed.Sanctified disengaged.

Even the Sovereigns stepped back—not defeated—but forced to withdraw.

Sunny didn't move.

His grip tightened.

"…No."

He stepped forward.

Alone.

Creatures surged toward him.

His wings ignited.

"Come."

He dashed.

His sword carved through one. Then another. Then five.

His Angel Spirit appeared behind him—radiant, calm, terrifying.

Light surged.Creatures were struck down instantly.

But more came.

Too many.

Sunny raised his hand—and summoned them.

The creatures he had killed before.

They emerged from his Spirit Sea—beasts, shadows, echoes of past battles.

They charged.Fought.Died.

But they held the line.

Sunny continued.

His breathing grew heavier. His body strained.

Yet—he didn't stop.

Then—a force surged through him.

Not his own.

The Sovereigns.

Their will reached him.

It pressed into his mind, into his body—not overwhelming—but strengthening.

Sunny's eyes sharpened.

His body responded.

Faster.Stronger.Sharper.

"Dash."

He vanished.

Reappeared behind a creature.

Strike.

It split instantly.

His Mental Push burst outward.Creatures staggered, froze, lost balance.

Sunny moved through them like a storm.

Even as a Demi-Exalted—he fought like something far beyond.

Then—it came.

A massive creature.Towering.Unstoppable.

It struck.

Too fast.Too close.

Sunny couldn't dodge.

For the first time—he felt it.

Death.

Then—the sky broke.

Light descended.

A presence beyond understanding.

A figure appeared.

A Hybrid God.

Everything stopped.

Creatures froze.

Then—they began to vanish.

Thousands.

Gone.

Erased from existence.

The figure raised its hand.

"Be gone."

And every remaining monster—disappeared.

Silence fell.

Absolute.

Sunny stood still.Breathing heavily.

Then—the voice came again.

"Rebuild."

Light spread across the battlefield.

The ground restored. The ruins reformed. The blood vanished.

The injured healed.

Those on the verge of death—recovered completely.

The world returned.

As if the battle had never happened.

The figure vanished.

Like it was never there.

Sunny remained.

Alone.

His strength faded. His body trembled slightly.

"…What…was that…"

Far away—spectators who had witnessed everything began to speak.

At first—whispers.

Then louder.

"That fighter…did you see him?"

"He didn't retreat…"

"He fought alone…"

"That wasn't human…"

Voices overlapped.

Fear.Awe.Disbelief.

Then—

A name formed.

"Demon…"

"That's what he is…"

"A Demon…"

The word spread.

Faster.

Louder.

"Demon!"

"Demon!"

"Demon!"

But it didn't stop there.

Some had seen more.

The light.

The arrival.

The impossible moment.

"That being…that figure…"

"It came for him…"

"No…he summoned it…"

"That power…"

"That wasn't normal…"

A voice trembled.

"…He's the son of that being…"

Another followed.

"The son of the Hybrid God…"

"He has to be…"

"No one else could survive that…"

"No one else could fight like that…"

The whispers turned into belief.

A legend forming in real time.

"The Demon…"

"The Son of the Hybrid God…"

But Sunny was already gone.

Back in his room.

Collapsed on his bed.

Exhausted.

Silent.

The battle had taken everything.

His body burned.His mind drained.

Yet—his eyes remained open.

Because now—

He understood.

Power.Control.Will.

He had seen it.Touched it.Fought within it.

And survived.

"…Next time…"

His voice was faint.

"I'll be stronger."

Darkness slowly took him.

And somewhere far beyond—

Something watched.

Waiting.
