He set the paper back down and looked at Seraphine, whose expression could have curdled fresh milk.
"She has been coming every morning," one of the junior aides whispered from the doorway. "For the past week. She checks the chamber before dawn and leaves when it is empty. The servants have been talking about it."
Aldric frowned and glanced at Seraphine. He had been unwell this past week and hadn't been available so he didn't know.
And there had only been one meeting set for that week.
"We most certainly didn't see her on the meeting day," Seraphine said dismissively and shot death glares at the other elders who slowly started nodding their heads in agreement.
"How do we get her out?" someone spoke up.
"Wake her up," Seraphine told Aldric.
He frowned and quickly walked towards the rest of them. "You wake her up!"
"I am not waking her up!" Seraphine glared at Aldric and turned to look at one of the elders.
"Don't look at me!" several of them shouted.
