Chapter 18 - Searching for the dwelling

It was easy to set up the barrier, I had done it many times, trying to get Guy to not go into my room while I was doing experiments that could potentially blow up the castle.

The next thing I wanted to do was make a doll that could manage everything for me.

Although I had created a base, I really didn't need it, I didn't need to sleep or eat and I was basically a walking factory so any equipment I needed, I could just make on the go.

So why did I make a base, well the answer is simple…farming.

Farming has become a huge hobby for me, to the point that I would rather do it manually than use magic, although, as befitting a former Minecraft player, I'm most likely gonna automate this at some point. And by some point, I mean I already did it

'…What's wrong with me?' I was upset that my impulsiveness already made me create automated farming and destroying any semblance of a hobby.

As I was lamenting my own compulsion to factorio this shit, I sensed movement from behind a tree, the recipients from who's identity I had already found out about, 'Jeez, their worse at hiding than their older sister.'

"For dryads of the forest, you're terrible at using it to your advantage!" I had shouted at a tree in which the dryads Trya and Doris came out.

Trya spoke, "Are you the one who gave us those… reactors?"

"Yes, you must be Trya and Doris. Why do you ask? Did I not give you enough of them?"

Doris spoke up immediately, "no, no it's enough! Honestly we don't even have a proper use for them at the moment."

"If you want I can add functions to the reactors." They were both baffled, he was treating such an extraordinary device like it was nothing. Treyni said the man was weird, she just didn't say how he was weird.

Trya reassured him when she realized what he had actually said, " No, we wouldn't want to be a burd- wait, what do you mean add functions?"

" Well I can modify the magicules that are outputted to seep into the ground and dramatically increase the growth and vitality of plant life. I could also make the outputted magicules to be more permeable to living beings, this would inturn make the monsters and the plants stronger. I can even cause the magicules to changes elements, connect it to a controller and you can basically change the weather of the entire forest."

The same thought rang out simultaneously through Doris and Trya's mind, 'What the fuck!'

"Oh and please make your decision fast, I plan to leave in a bit."

" Well then can we…"

———————————————

And just like that, I had created a weather controller station surround by a barrier for the dryads.

I had intended to leave to find the Dwelling of spirits, the residence of the demon lord and spirit queen Ramiris.

I didn't just want to go there to contract a spirit but I also intended to met Ramiris, from the source material, she seems like a mechanical genius, I can finally speak with someone who shares my mechanical ingenuity.

Treyni's voice came from behind, "May I ask where you're going."

" Awww, missing me already?"

Treyni just smiled at my tease, " I was just making conversation, I'm quite interested in your creations and wanted to know what else you can make."

"While go ahead and ask, I'm not in a rush." I pointed to the mechanical dolls taking care of my lab and tending my fields, "if you want, I can make a army of mechanical dolls to help maintain the forest."

"Oh, there's no need to force that." Cold sweat went down Treyni's luminescent body, the idea of an army like that in the forest made her shiver, she didn't want to disrupt the natural order of things in the forest.

"Mr. Simon, do not fret with our ordeals, you are always welcome back here at anytime."

" Thank you Treyni, you are truly too gentle for this world."

———————————————

I had decided to head onwards towards the Republic of Ingracia.

I didn't want to fly or teleport, that would be missing the beautiful scenery but I didn't want to walk, that would take too long and I'd have to interact with NPC's… I mean other people.

(A/N totally not an excuse to come up with new OC's)

I decided to run to it, I don't have a stamina limit so if I run without stopping, then I could probably make it there in less than a week.

I began to take off from my position, shooting off into the horizon.

——————————————

The journey was absolutely stunning, isekai protagonist really downplay the beauty of a natural, fantasy world.

And that was just me sprinting at ridiculously high speeds, I can only imagine what it would look like if I actually took the time to appreciate it.

I had made the journey in two days running. The foliage was much denser than the forest and Jura, 'This is just unnecessary.'

Until I found it…

the biggest tree in the forest with a gate embedded in it that basically screams special entrance right here, 'should I just push it open?'

I gently pushed the door open to find a long hallway that looked like it stretched out to infinity. I could already hear whispers, giggling and promising.

I didn't go in immediately, I mentally recorded my current position in space and then teleported home and grabbed a couple of stuff that I prepared for this journey but forgot to bring with me. I brought a basket of cookies just like Rimuru did and a new device shaped like a funnel going into a cube that I like to call the spirit vacuum, which will be very important for later.

'I hope Ramiris likes these cookies.' during those 50 years of living beside demons and dragons, I had perfected my cooking skills to such a high degree that I basically destroyed Zarry and Guy's tastebuds

I teleported back to the entrance and went inside, 'lets see what's in store for me.'
