Chapter 84 - Harry and Peter, You Two Are a Match

Peter returned home feeling both relaxed and excited.

His phone suddenly chimed with a text message notification. Curious, Peter checked it and found two messages: one from his goddess, Mary, asking him out on a date, and another from Harry inviting him over to his place.

Peter had no doubts about Harry's invitation.

After all, Harry had always been his best friend, their bond deep and strong. Harry frequently invited him over to chat, play games, and share life's little moments.

Harry's door had always been open to Peter, and he'd never felt anything amiss.

However, when Peter saw Mary's date invitation, his heart soared with joy.

He'd never imagined that since becoming Spider-Man, his life would become so fortunate.

He'd never dared to hope that Mary would ask him out, but now, this surprising message lay before him.

Peter's heart raced, his cheeks flushing slightly. Naive as he was, he didn't even consider the possibility that it might be a scam.

Looking at the two messages, Peter hesitated for a moment.

He wanted to visit Harry's place, but he also wanted to meet Mary as soon as possible.

He knew he should go to Harry's first, and then go on his date with Mary.

He hurried out of his house and rushed to Harry's place.

However, when he arrived, he sensed something was amiss.

Harry's house was completely dark, with not a single light on.

Peter approached cautiously, ready to knock, but found the door unlocked.

A wave of unease washed over him.

He gently pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The house was eerily silent, with only the moonlight slanting across the floor, casting a cold, desolate glow.

Peter called out Harry's name several times, but received no response.

He looked around and noticed the room was in disarray, as if someone had ransacked it.

His heart began to race. He realized this was no ordinary invitation.

Peter softly pushed open Harry's bedroom door, and the sight that greeted him left him stunned.

Harry was tightly bound to the ceiling, his face pale and his body limp, clearly unconscious.

Fear and rage surged through Peter. He immediately began searching for tools to free Harry.

But just as he was fully focused on his search, a blast of icy wind struck him from behind.

Peter whirled around, and in the moonlight, he saw the silhouette of a figure in a green uniform, flickering in and out of view.

A cunning smile played across his face, his weapon glinting with a cold light.

Peter's heart sank—he'd been ambushed.

Yet he didn't flinch. Instead, he reacted swiftly.

He dodged the attack with agile grace, then angrily demanded, "Who are you? Why are you hurting Harry?"

His voice seethed with fury and confusion. He couldn't understand why anyone would harm his friend.

The Green Goblin stared coldly at Peter, a sneer curling his lips. "Little Spider, I'm teaching my son a lesson. What's wrong with that?"

Peter was stunned. "You're Uncle Osborn! No—how do you know who I am? You're from another parallel universe!"

He hadn't expected to be recognized without his suit. There was only one explanation: this Osborn was from another dimension.

The Green Goblin gave him no time to process this. "I'm not that pathetic Osborn. I'm the Green Goblin! Let's have some fun, little Spider."

With that, he lunged at Peter, his movements swift and brutal, like a cheetah hunting its prey.

Peter didn't flinch. He reacted swiftly, engaging the Green Goblin in a fierce battle.

Their figures blurred under the moonlight as their fists and feet met the air with explosive thuds.

Peter did his best to evade the Green Goblin's attacks while searching for an opening to strike back.

He knew he couldn't let the Green Goblin run rampant. He had to rescue Harry, who was bound to the ceiling, as quickly as possible. Seizing an opportunity when the Green Goblin wasn't paying attention, Peter leaped into the air, clenching his fists and delivering a brutal strike.

Caught off guard, the Green Goblin staggered backward.

Peter seized the moment and charged toward Harry, swiftly cutting the ropes that bound him.

Harry, now free, looked pale but his eyes shone with gratitude.

Though Harry had been successfully rescued, the Green Goblin showed no emotional reaction. He stood there with a cold smile, as if Harry's rescue had nothing to do with him.

His voice dripped with provocation and mockery: "With this dead weight, do you really think you can still defeat me?"

With that, he stepped onto his glider and surged toward Peter with blinding speed, leaving little time to react.

As the Green Goblin charged, a flicker of hesitation crossed Peter's eyes.

He knew that confronting the Green Goblin head-on while carrying an injured Harry would be foolish.

But he also knew he couldn't abandon Harry, leaving him vulnerable once more.

So, Peter could only do his best to evade the Green Goblin's attacks.

Yet the Green Goblin's assaults were far from random. His skateboarding skills were exceptional, each strike like a razor-sharp sword aimed at Peter's vital points.

Because Peter was protecting Harry, many attacks he could have dodged had to be endured, leaving him battered and bruised.

The Green Goblin's attacks grew increasingly ferocious, his skateboard carving lethal arcs through the air. Each collision sent waves of agony through Peter's body.

Still, Peter refused to give up. Gritting his teeth, he fought with every ounce of his strength.

Harry was consumed by fear, but he knew he couldn't falter now.

Taking a deep breath, he poured all his remaining strength into a desperate shout: "Peter, run! Don't worry about me. Just remember to avenge me later!" His voice echoed through the night, carrying a resolute determination.

Peter looked at Harry, his gaze unwavering and profound.

He knew Harry was his friend, and his friend was in danger. He couldn't abandon him.

Staring intently at Harry, he replied, "Harry, I won't abandon you. You're my only true friend. How could I stand by and watch you face danger alone?"

Peter's words sent a warmth surging through Harry's heart.

He hadn't expected Peter to stand so steadfastly by his side against such a powerful enemy.

His eyes shone with emotion as he looked at Peter, his heart overflowing with gratitude and admiration.

Yet Peter remained unmoved.

He gripped Harry's hand tightly, met his eyes, and declared firmly, "Harry, we're friends. We won't abandon each other. Let's face this enemy together—whether we live or die, we'll do it together."

The Green Goblin watched them, a sneer twisting his face.

He had expected these two young men to abandon each other to save their own lives, but he hadn't anticipated their unwavering loyalty.

A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes, quickly replaced by contempt and disdain.

"Then you can both die together. I was planning a bigger surprise for you, Spider-Man, but I never expected you to be so ungrateful. So you can die here with Harry."

The Green Goblin's voice dripped with cold mockery, his face twisted into a cruel grin as if the sight of the two young men's demise would bring him satisfaction.

Then, he hurled a barrage of Pumpkin Bombs at Harry and Peter.

Harry and Peter exchanged desperate glances.

They knew there was almost no chance of surviving the Green Goblin's onslaught. Peter tightly embraced Harry, trying to shield him with his own body from the impending explosions.

Their heartbeats echoed in the silent night, each pulse seeming to count down the final moments of their lives.

But just as death seemed imminent, a voice suddenly rang out:

"Why don't you two just get together already?"

The voice, like a spring breeze, jolted Peter and Harry out of their despair.

They looked up to see a young figure slowly stepping out of the shadows, a teasing smile playing on his lips as if he were completely unfazed by the crisis.

This young man was Chen Ye.
