The Hunter's peaceful day is moving on like always. Hunt, dismantle, go to the town and sell the goods.
(There seem to be more wild animals recently, but on the upside, there's a lot of stuff to sell. Maybe I'll take a vacation and bring Lisa and Lara to some nice place.)
But today, that peaceful day takes a turn.
"H-HELP ME!!!"
"ARGH!!"
"I-IT'S A MONSTER!!!"
Bloodshed everywhere, some people were fighting, some people fled, and others were categorized as either deceased or dying.
"What the hell's happening…"
The Hunter couldn't sit still as he raised the crossbow and machete.
…
"Tutorial? Click attack then enemy."
It's just your average turn-based RPG game style. Honestly, it didn't take much difficulty for me to learn it, and I find it quite entertaining.
Entertaining? I think that's the first time I've felt that way since the start. Was this perhaps a good karma after what I wish a nightmare?
…
I defeated the monster just now. I recently learn about the weapon type skill, such as pierce, slash, and blunt damage. And not only that, the game consists of elemental damage such as Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Light, Darkness, and many more.
After clearing a few areas, the Hunter met the Hero's party struggling with what they called one of the heavenly kings, Rusio.
"Hmm, is this the only potent of power the Hero has? How weak! Now, slumber within the roots of darkness- Urgh!"
The bolt pierces the back of Rusio's neck. He looked back in the direction from which the bolt was coming from. The Hunter made it in time before Rusio slew the Hero's party entirely.
"Y-you… I'll kill you!"
Rusio's attention was diverted towards the Hunter, Hero took this opportunity to slash Rusio when he wasn't looking.
"KARRGH!! No… I can't believe it… I… One of the Heavenly Kings…"
Rusio stumbled as he turned into the dust. The hero's party were relieve as they exchanging few words.
"Thanks for saving us, you came at the perfect time."
"How was the situation?"
"The situation has calmed; the monster fled the moment Rusio was slain. Although, it's unfortunate for the lives they have taken."
The Hero looked at the said deceased in a sad manner.
Then, the Hunter remembered something. It was no less than his wife and daughter, it took no long as the Hunter ran at full speed to his house, while the Hero's party followed suit.
As he was getting a glimpse of his house, he was terrified when he saw a lot of monster surrounds the house.
"LISA!!! LARA!!!"
The Hunter went to rampage of bloodshed in a wild manner. Thanks to his skill and experience, he killed all the monsters in no less than two minutes. Checking every corner of the house, he found out that his wife and daughter were still alive, as they were hiding inside the storeroom.
"D-Dear!"
"Daddy!"
The Hunter felt relieved and went to embrace both Lisa and Lara.
"I'm so glad you two live…"
…
The story progressed, the Hunter decided to join the Hero's party to went to slain the Demon Lord. For his wife and daughter, the Hunter trusted his parents, who live in the empire, to take care of them until his return.
"Are you okay with leaving your wife and daughter behind?"
The Hunter gives a slight worried look, but responds accordingly.
"It's regrettable, but I have made my decision. I hope you'll take care of me from now on, Hero."
…
The story went on and on, I have lost count of time, as if I'm ascending from reality, I find myself attached to a fictional story.
Learning new things has given me some sort of pleasure. Learning about every species of animal and monster has given me some new insight.
Slime, Goblin, Undead, Oni, Dragon. Every enemy is different, in terms of power and ability. Learning their weakness, take advantage of their weak point and land a critical attack.
Everything goes well until they meet one of the Heavenly kings, Moar.
"Good job, went through my troops, but this is the end for you."
…
"One of the Heavenly Kings, I must get ready… I don't know how strong she is, but I musn't let my guard down!"
1 turn after…
"So weak! She died in 1 turn?!"
(I didn't even use elemental weakness or land a crit damage, were they this weak?…)
Little did I realize, I took too long on the previous part of the game and somehow leveled them up to lvl99 Every one of them.
I progress forward as usual, and soon meet another Heavenly King, Tryress.
"This is the end…"
…
"I can't believe I was defeated…"
…
The last Heavenly king, Cross.
"I'll beat you up until there's nothing left!"
…
"This is the end of me, huh…"
…
"They give a climactic end, but it would be perfect if they'd at least put up a little fight."
I was a little bit disappointed with the difficulty otherwise, but more attached in the story. And in the end…
"This is the end, Hero!"
The Demon Lord is the last boss of this game. Having a fearful appearance that left even me chill.
(But, show me what you have, Demon Lord…)
…
A fight goes on for a while, and the Demon Lord puts up a fight as I expected. But I have the advantage in terms of number and weakness.
The Tank, taking damage from the Demon Lord with his shield, the Archer, shoots a poison and a Holy arrow to wear him down. The Mage, charging up for a large attack, The Hero, goes toe to toe with the Demon Lord, and I, controlling the Hunter, attack him the moment he at least expected it.
…
"This is the end, Demon Lord!"
Said the Hero as he raised his sword against the Demon Lord. But receiving his word, he didn't feel any fear.
"Hehehehe HAHAHAHAHA!!! How foolish! You think this is the end of me, huh?!!"
The Demon Lord shows the core of his heart, which glows brighter every second.
"I'll blow myself up and you as well! Nobody wins! This is the end!"
"No, I won't let that happen!"
Suddenly, a beam of light pierces through the Demon Lord. At the same time, a barrier appeared around Hero's party, protecting them from the nearby demise.
"N-NO! IT CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!"
The Demon Lord failed to kill everyone. Turns out, the Holy Maiden is the one who prevented that.
The slaying of the Demon Lord brings peace to the entire world. Everybody was happy. Everybody went on with their peaceful lives. The Hero married the Holy Maiden, while the Hunter went back to embrace his wife and daughter.
THE END
…
"So this is it, huh…"
For the first time in my life, I've been happier than I could be. Joy, Happiness, Sorrow, Anger, I was filled with them the whole playthrough of the game.
"So, this is the end, huh…"
"Yes, this is the end."
"!!! Who?!"
I looked to my back. Turns out it's the Silver Hunter who's been cross my mind the entire time.
(D-Damn it… Where's the knife…)
I hurriedly searched for my knife and any sort of weapon that I could use to kill Silver Hunter, if it wasn't for the strength that suddenly left my body.
"Argh!"
I fell to the floor, lying as I saw many eye appeared within the silver robe. It looks like he's holding on to something, perhaps a weapon.
".... So I've been led to this trap, huh… Thank you"
I smile.
"Why are you thanking?" The voice asked.
"For the first time, you've taught me the concept of joy. I rarely received them at any point in my life. And sometimes I question it, "What's the reason to live?" And this trap of yours tell it to me. So that's the reason… If you don't mind, could you make my death be less painful? Like, cut my throat or something?"
The voice is silent, not speaking nor answering to my simple plea.
".... I won't kill you. Seeing your eye bags, you've been in front of that computer for more than 24 hours. Not eating or drinking. Without any energy, you can't even lift a knife nor standing up after that."
The voice continued speaking…
"But not to fret, for you to be lucky to receive an invitation to you. An invitation to join The Cult of Hunters. Will you accept it, boy?"
"... The cult… of what?"
Is the last word before my eyelids closed completely for quite some time.
ROUTE 2: Cult of The Hunter
