When the World Turns Its Head
High above Wano, the battlefield shifted into the heavens.
Kaido and Ren rose into the sky, each standing upon clouds formed by their own power. Flame-wreathed vapors coiled beneath their feet, keeping them suspended as if the heavens themselves had acknowledged their authority.
From a distance, they were no longer clear figures.
They were blurs of black lightning and blood-red thunder tearing through the sky.
Dragon fire and golden Samadhi flames collided midair, exploding into spirals of scorching wind. Invisible shockwaves ripped apart clouds for miles, turning the once-blue sky into a fractured dome of violence.
Kaido swung his kanabo downward.
"Thunder Bagua!"
Ren intercepted with his staff, their weapons never touching, yet the air between them detonated like a collapsing star.
"You're smiling too much!" Kaido roared, eyes gleaming. "Did you come here to mock me or to fight?!"
Ren laughed, pushing back.
"I told you, Kaido! I'm enjoying this!"
"Worororororo! Then don't you dare hold back!"
They separated, only to collide again in a flash. Wind blades spiraled outward from Kaido's dragon breath, slicing apart the clouds. Ren answered with a sweeping arc of golden flame, vaporizing the attacks before they could descend toward Wano.
Below, the island trembled.
---
On the shores of Wano, Yamato stood barefoot upon the sand, staring upward.
Ren's clone had left her there gently before dissolving into strands of golden light. The warmth of his presence lingered for a moment before fading into the sea breeze.
She could feel it clearly.
Kaido's Haki had changed.
It was stronger now—denser—but no longer oppressive. The suffocating despair that once radiated from him had vanished. What remained was something sharper. Freer.
"He's… enjoying it," Yamato whispered.
Another collision split the sky.
She clenched her fists.
Ren's Haki burned bright like a rising sun, while Kaido's thunder roared in answer. The sky between them had become a battlefield of gods.
---
Beyond Wano's closed borders, the world was already reacting.
Seagulls flew in chaotic flocks, carrying stacks of freshly printed newspapers. They scattered across islands, ports, and kingdoms, dropping headlines that would ignite the seas.
The front page showed a dragon and a Golden Great Ape locked in battle.
(1000 meters long vs. 1000 meters tall.)
The title screamed across the world:
"The Beast King vs. The New King — Wano Trembles!"
---
On a certain island in the East Blue, laughter echoed across the deck of a red-haired pirate ship.
Shanks leaned back against a barrel, teasing Luffy about some old story as his crew laughed around him. The mood was light, carefree.
Then a crew member burst in.
"Captain! Big news!"
He was breathing hard, sweat soaking his shirt. The laughter froze instantly.
"What is it?" Benn Beckman asked calmly.
The man handed over the newspaper.
"Kaido and that new guy, Ren… they've started fighting."
The deck went silent.
Beckman scanned the page quickly, then slowly lowered the paper and turned toward Shanks.
"Looks like it won't be you who becomes the youngest Emperor of the Sea."
The crew stiffened.
Shanks took the newspaper, reading it carefully.
A slow sigh escaped him.
"So… the new era is already here."
Beckman continued, voice steady.
"The reports say Wano is shaking from their clashes. If that's true, then Kaido isn't the same Beast King we knew."
Shanks' gaze sharpened.
"If their Haki is affecting the real world…" he murmured.
Beckman nodded.
"Then they've crossed a threshold."
Shanks folded the paper and looked toward the horizon.
"Ren, huh…? You're really shaking the world, kid."
---
Elsewhere, upon the deck of the Moby Dick, a pirate ran toward the main deck holding a newspaper.
"Pops! Big news! Kaido and that kid Ren are fighting like madmen! The entire Wano is trembling from their clashes!"
Whitebeard sat calmly in his chair, massive bisento resting at his side.
"Gurararara… give it here."
He read silently, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Marco leaned in.
"Pops…?"
Whitebeard folded the paper.
"Move the ship toward Wano."
Marco blinked.
"Yes, Pops."
Whitebeard looked toward the sea, a faint grin on his lips.
"So the brat's grown that much…?"
---
In Totto Land, Perospero rushed into the main hall, newspaper clutched tightly.
"Mama! It's Kaido and that new kid, Ren! They're fighting on Onigashima!"
Big Mom took the paper lazily.
"Mamama… let me see."
Her grin widened as she read.
"To shake the entire Wano… when did Kaido and this brat become this strong?"
Perospero licked his candy cane nervously.
"Mama… should we—"
Big Mom stood up abruptly, laughter booming through the hall.
"Prepare the ship! Let's go see it for ourselves!"
Her eyes gleamed.
"If Kaido falls… the balance of the sea changes."
---
On a remote, storm-covered island, a tall man stood facing the wind.
"Dragon," Ivankov called out, holding a newspaper. "That new kid you were interested in… he's fighting Kaido."
Monkey D. Dragon turned slowly, cloak billowing.
He took the paper and read in silence.
"So… the new era is already here."
Ivankov leaned closer.
"The entire country is shaking, darling. That kind of power isn't normal."
Dragon folded the paper carefully.
"History accelerates when monsters awaken."
---
Back at Marineford, chaos intensified.
A soldier burst into Sengoku's office.
"Sir! Emergency! The news of Kaido and Ren's fight has been published worldwide!"
Sengoku's face darkened.
"Already?"
The soldier swallowed.
"Whitebeard and Big Mom are moving toward Wano!"
"Damn it!" Sengoku slammed his desk again. "Why can't those bastards stay in their own waters?!"
Kuzan frowned.
"This is escalating fast."
Sengoku turned toward the sea outside his window.
"Garp… I hope you arrive in time."
Unbeknownst to most, Garp had already left Marineford, heading straight toward Wano.
---
In the New World, upon a massive ship carved with ancient giant runes, Prince Loki of Elbaf sat devouring a Sea King.
A giant warrior came running.
"Prince Loki! Big news!"
Loki raised an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
"The new guy Ren—the one who killed all those slave traders—he's fighting Kaido! They say he grew so big he grabbed Kaido like a snake caught in a giant's hand!"
Loki paused mid-bite.
"Their battle is shaking Wano itself."
He slowly stood.
"Someone as big as me…?"
His eyes gleamed with interest.
"Prepare the ship. We're going to Wano."
His movement was immediately reported to Marineford.
Sengoku nearly crushed his Den Den Mushi.
"Damn it! Why is Loki getting involved in this?! Things are spiraling out of control!"
---
At Sabaody Archipelago, Shakky exhaled smoke slowly.
She turned toward Rayleigh, who was calmly reading the same newspaper.
He shook his head.
"This battle has escalated far beyond just a war."
Shakky raised an eyebrow.
"That guy Ren really knows where to poke."
Rayleigh's eyes narrowed slightly.
"What did he say to Kaido that made his Haki surge like this? When we fought, he didn't even know Conqueror's infusion."
He folded the paper.
"And now his battle with Kaido is shaking Wano."
Shakky tapped ash into a tray.
"And that Devil Fruit of his…"
Rayleigh nodded slowly.
"To grow large enough to treat Kaido like a toy… that's not a normal Devil Fruit."
They both fell silent.
"Well," Shakky sighed, "Whitebeard, Linlin, even Loki are moving toward Wano."
Rayleigh looked toward the horizon.
"The era is shifting far too fast."
---
High above Wano, Ren and Kaido collided again.
Their laughter echoed like thunder.
"Worororororo!"
"Hahahahaha!"
Neither noticed the world moving beneath them.
Neither cared.
For them, there was only the clash.
And the sky continued to break.
