Sienna had been idly scrolling through the different views on her monitoring screen when something caught her eye in the narrow ditch that wound through the manor's courtyard. It wasn't the familiar curl of steam rising from the hot spring water, but the tiny flash of movement beneath the surface.
A fire fish.
One of the little creatures suddenly leaped clear of the water, its bright scarlet scales catching the sunlight like a spark before it splashed back down, sending ripples across the steaming channel. Sienna leaned forward on the sofa, eyes narrowing. The sight stirred a long-buried memory.
