Mirella and Harold cried out almost at the same time.
Inside the villa, Sienna watched everything unfold through the monitoring screen. The moment the blinding white light erupted inside the mages' tent, she knew Shift had stepped into a trap. Her thoughts moved faster than her body.
Without hesitation, she activated the Spatial Farm. A ripple spread through the space, and in the next instant Shift vanished from the enemy tent, reappearing at the predetermined location beside Harold. Even so, she had been a fraction too slow. The explosion of holy light had already struck him before the teleportation finished, leaving several burns across his undead body.
Before anyone could breathe a sigh of relief, several brilliant warning lights burst from the shattered tent like blazing arrows. They streaked into the night sky and exploded high above the canyon, bathing the entire camp in harsh white light and turning the quiet night into complete chaos.
