Chapter 114 - Chapter 114 Omegamon: Nana

"This Omegamon X actually carries Kiana's aura!"

A flicker of delight flashed in Kiana's eyes; she softly snapped her fingers.

An Imaginary Gate silently opened on the crystal wall in front of Omegamon X.

Seizing the momentary passage, Omegamon X slipped through the barrier and entered this universe's internal network domain.

Somewhere afar, Nous suddenly quaked, red light pulsing.

At the same instant, every electronic device aboard Herta Space Station went haywire; shrill alarms and strobing crimson lights filled every corner.

Acting Station Master Asta stared at the scrambled screens and runaway systems, frantically trying to locate the fault—yet found nothing.

Right then, a data hole appeared on the main screen in front of her.

A massive stream of data poured out, and a colossal form materialized inside the station.

It was none other than Omegamon X from the data space moments earlier.

Once Omegamon X arrived, every malfunctioning device slowly returned to normal operation.

Now, apart from the tech staff, everyone else stared fixedly at the uninvited guest.

Armed guards raised their weapons toward Omegamon X in unison.

Asta clutched her phone, a bead of cold sweat sliding down her temple as she locked her gaze on the majestic mechanical silhouette.

Though the handsome armored giant perfectly matched her tastes, friend or foe remained unclear—she dared not relax.

After all, the station-wide system crash had likely been caused by this very "guest".

She was secretly messaging Ms. Herta, finger hovering over "send"—

when a shocking scene unfolded before her.

The towering humanoid mecha surged with blue light, its frame rapidly shrinking and shifting… until, to Asta's amazement, it turned into a familiar figure.

"Kiana!?"

Asta's lovely eyes widened in disbelief at the white-haired girl.

Since when could Kiana turn into such a cool robot…?

Meanwhile, Nana—having absorbed some of this world's network data and mastered its language, or rather, Omegammon X in human form—blinked, curiosity sparkling in her sapphire eyes.

"Hmm? You know me?"

She didn't recall ever visiting this world—

otherwise she'd never forget such a cute girl.

The astute Asta realized the stranger didn't recognize her, confirming this wasn't the Warahip she knew.

Yet the girl clearly responded to the name Kiana.

Because she reacted to it!

"Sorry, my mistake."

Polite as ever, Asta bowed slightly in apology, then grew serious, clasping her hands to her chest as she stared into those clear, sky-blue eyes.

"Excuse me, did you cause the station's system failure just now?"

"Uh…"

Nana looked embarrassed, turning away to scratch her cheek.

That gesture said it all—Asta knew she was responsible.

But it seemed unintentional.

Though this "unintentional" act had indirectly inflicted incalculable losses on Herta Space Station.

To Asta, however, those losses were just numbers on a balance sheet.

Seeing Nana's apologetic look, Asta knew she bore no malice toward the station.

She signaled all staff to return to their posts.

Then, studying the girl's face—identical to Kiana's—Asta's eyes glinted with mischief.

She deleted the message meant for Ms. Herta and opened an expense report instead.

"What a pity the station suffered such huge losses from this incident…"

Chin propped on one hand, Asta sighed theatrically.

At the same time, she casually tilted the screen so Nana could see the astronomical figure.

At the sight of the endless string of digits, Nana's mouth twitched. She folded her arms, sat cross-legged on the floor, and put on a shameless grin.

"I don't have your world's money—can't pay!"

She could have conjured a fortune with her power,

but—

as a Royal Knight, she scorned such deeds.

She was a special Omegamon who stood above the Host Computer and could wrestle with the Harmonious Ones!

Not a Jogress of two Digimon, but a singular, super-special Omegamon!

(Author's note: Kiana-Omegamon setting)

In short:

No money—won't pay; life—she won't give that either!

"Ahem, seeing how much you look like my friend, I was only joking—don't mind me."

Sticking out her tongue, Asta clasped her hands playfully.

With a face like Nana's, Asta had already written off the debt.

"Someone who looks like me? And she's also named Kiana?"

Nana frowned, puzzled, and looked at Asta.

Ever since she hatched from her Digi-Egg, her Digicore had contained a central data cluster—

no matter what she evolved into, she could assume a human form named Kiana.

In that guise she was indistinguishable from a human; no one could detect her true Digimon identity.

Thanks to that disguise, her growth had been much smoother.

But an accident drew the Harmonious Ones' attention; despite their obstacles, she still reached her current height—

with help from her dear friends, especially Yakei Kyōko—Alphamon—who aided her the most.

Irminsul had also sheltered her, intentionally or not.

And though she was a Digimon and a Royal Knight,

at the start of her journey, in human form, she'd unexpectedly gained two Digimon partners of her own—Tailmon and BlackTailmon.

The pair had been stunned for quite a while after learning she was a Digimon too.

Ahem, drifting off topic… Right now, Nana was intensely curious about this other Kiana.

"The Kiana I know looks almost exactly like you; maybe there's some connection between you two?"

Asta studied Nana's face, voice uncertain.

This girl wore the same steady look as Kiana, yet retained a playful spark unique to maidens.

And those crystal-clear eyes were identical to Kiana's.

To claim they were unrelated—Asta wouldn't buy it.

Could they be alternate-world counterparts or something?

"That Kiana—"

Nana was about to ask more—

Bzzt—bzzt—

The main screen in front of Asta blared another urgent alarm.

Nana narrowed her eyes at the screen—or rather, at something within the data-space beyond it.

Seconds later, the alarm ceased and the display returned to normal.

Only now, it showed a resplendent, rainbow-like starfield shaped like the infinity symbol.

Within the Interstice of the Paths, Nous quietly faded from view.
