The Lost Vampire System Chapter 32 - Next Stage
A few moments later, Jareth had finally registered that they seemed to be talking about him.
"Wait, what are you guys talking about?"
"Oh, nothing," Madison giggled as she stood up from the bed that Keira was on. "Girl talk."
Jareth slowly nodded as he went to sit back down at his seat while Madison sat at hers.
"Feeling better?" Madison asked Keira. "I'm sure you can figure out what Jareth is and the reason why he accidentally attacked you." She said this while eyeing Jareth.
Keira nodded as she eyed Jareth as well.
"Good, good," Madison nodded her head. "Now, Keira, I hope you don't mind if you allow Jareth to drink from you."
"What?" the two said at the same time.
Madison looked between the two like they were idiots.
"Jareth needs blood from a human," Madison continued. "A vampire needs blood, right, Jareth?"
The two girls both looked at Jareth as he slowly nodded.
"I'm not going to make Keira my…blood bag," Jareth stuttered. "I won't make her do that. Why not you, Madison? Why aren't you offering?"
There was a pause as silence fell in the room. It was broken when Keira spoke up.
"How could you drink her blood?" she asked with a confused expression. "I thought you were also a vampire."
"I'm not a vampire," Madison answered her question. "Only Jareth is a vampire. I am what is known as a Cambion, and for what I know, vampires can't drink Cambion blood."
"Oh," Jareth muttered. "That makes sense."
Keira frowned. "What's a Cambion?"
Before Jareth could answer, Madison did.
"Let's leave that for another time," she said. "You are already overwhelmed enough."
The red-headed girl nodded as Madison continued.
"When he did bite into you, did you feel pain?"
Keira pondered as she thought back to when Jareth had drunk from her neck. She didn't recall pain, but it felt more like…pleasure. Her face went a little red as she answered.
"I didn't feel pain. I felt…nothing." She managed to hold her tongue from saying pleasure.
"Interesting," the Cambion spoke as her eyes wandered to the ceiling but quickly shook her head. "Would you please let Jareth drink from you? I don't want Jareth's diet to cause problems for our group."
Keira thought about it and decided that it would be for the best. I don't want Jareth to go and cause problems because of his diet. If he truly is a vampire and not someone who has a fetish, I wouldn't mind Jareth feeding off of me. He's…cute.
"Yes," she answered as her freckled cheeks turned a shade red as she slowly turned her head so that her neck was showing more.
Jareth realized what she was doing and decided to clear things up.
"Oh, I can't right now," Jareth said as he raised his arms up. "Let's allow your blood to regenerate, and after…feeding on you, I am currently full."
She awkwardly put her head back down so her neck wasn't as exposed.
"Thank you, though," Jareth said.
"I think we're good now," Madison said as she stood up. "Hope you get better, Keira. Jareth and I should leave now."
Madison grabbed Jareth as she pulled him out of the room, leaving Keira there to wonder how her life had changed since she had arrived at this academy. The two took the elevator to the ground floor. They exited the building, and as soon as they went around the corner, she ripped off his mask to show a pretty much healed face as she pinned him up against the wall.
"What?" Jareth growled as he tried to struggle, but Madison was just stronger than him.
"Don't do that again," the Cambion growled. "I can't have you go down before I establish my name into the world. We…we are lucky that she liked the concept of vampires, or we would be in trouble."
They stared at each other for a few seconds before Jareth did a tapping motion, which signaled to Madison that he was done.
"Oh, sorry," she muttered as she let go of him. "Let's just enjoy the rest of this day."
Jareth agreed as they continued on their day. The two met up with the group, and because of the relation between Jareth and Mia, the two groups merged again. They asked where Keira was, and they told the group what the nurse said and mentioned that they were on it. So the group decided to go outside, and Jareth alternated between the shade and sunlight so he could fully charge his Solar Points. After a few hours of alternating, his Solar Points finally hit 100 out of 100.
They ate dinner, and an announcement was made to go and get their uniforms. On their way, Keira had joined up with them as Amara said that she was fine. She had a little bandage on her neck, but the bite marks had almost healed. The full group of eleven went on to pick up a large backpack with their sets of uniforms. Their main uniform was a green camouflage military uniform that was slightly lighter in green to tell who is a student or an actual part of the military faction. They all looked at each other when they announced that it was free of charge, so people like Jareth and Mia breathed a sigh of relief. The group parted ways as they went back to their own rooms. Mia hugged her brother as she left. When Jareth, Damion, and Henry were all in their room, Damion spoke up.
"What did you and Madison really do?" he asked.
"She showed me NYXIS," Jareth responded as he didn't know what Damion was getting at.
"No," Damion frowned at Jareth. "I saw you mouth a single word to Madison before she dragged you away. What was the word?"
"You can't tell him," Apollo said. "We're not close with him. Too early."
Jareth's thoughts were projected to Apollo. "What should I say?"
"I don't know. Fabricate a crush on Madison or something. Just don't mention Cambion."
"What?" Jareth thought, but he also said that out loud.
"You said the word 'what' to Madison?" the Nephilim asked. "Come on, Jareth, don't make me laugh. What did you really say?"
Jareth tried to think of something, and he opened his mouth to answer, but the system decided it was the best time to give him things.
"Congratulations," the Draven system said in a slightly more human voice. "You have successfully gained a Cambion as your ally. You had a snag by exposing yourself to someone else, but that person also became your ally. The system is impressed. Bonus reward will be included at the end."
"Hello," Damion said as he waved his hand in front of Jareth's face, but the system didn't care and just continued.
"You have gained 100 experience points plus 1 level up to be used anytime. EXP: 145 over 80. You have leveled up to level 4. Bonus reward: the system has sent energy to your ant queen egg to speed up the hatching. The egg will now hatch in 1 to 3 days."
One to three days! Jareth thought. I have to prepare for it earlier. I need to know what it eats. How to hide it better. Having it in its egg form was pretty easy, but once it needs to move.
"Jareth," Damion said, snapping him out of his thoughts. "Your lack of focus needs to be studied."
"Yeah," Henry agreed.
"Sorry," the Half-ling stuttered. "I was just—"
He paused as the system came back to announce one last thing.
"Your power can no longer be contained in this body. Evolution commencing."
"Sh*t, not again," Jareth muttered as he fell to the floor, feeling that same intense massage sensation across his entire body.
