it gritted its teeth and kept going.

It collapsed limply to the ground.
Kirlia just stared at it, unimpressed.

It hadn't even had fun yet!

And Jynx had quit at the worst moment!

the Master Ball could catch any Pokémon!
"Go, Houndoom! Be careful. Melt the ice around it with Fire!"
The leader whispered.
In his hand, a purple Poké Ball marked with an M was ready.
A Houndoom at Advanced Gym tier carefully spat flames.
But the ice was like permafrost, unyielding.
Even Gym-tier power couldn't melt it fast.
"Everyone, attack together!"
The leader grew impatient.
Several Houndoom attacked at once,
unleashing Fire moves.
Slowly but surely, the ice melted into water.
Bit by bit, the hill-sized Articuno came into view.
"Yes!"
The leader's face lit up. If he caught Articuno, he'd be a high-ranking member for sure.
Hand it over? Not a chance.
His hands shaking, he tapped the "Master Ball" lightly against Articuno.
Articuno turned into a beam of light and vanished into the Master Ball!
