--------------------

Age 766. A heart virus. No enemy. No battlefield.

Son Goku died in his bed.

Six months later, Androids 17 and 18 emerged.

Seventeen played obedient. Waited. Then struck—Dr. Gero's head rolled before the old man even registered the betrayal.

The remaining Z-Fighters came next.

Vegeta. Piccolo. Krillin.

One by one, they fell.

Gohan watched Piccolo die. Felt something inside him break—then ignite. Golden light erupted. Super Saiyan. Finally.

It wasn't enough.

Seventeen didn't even look impressed.

The Androids turned their attention to humanity after that.

Fourteen years. Systematic extermination. Cities reduced to rubble. Populations erased like entries in a ledger.

Earth teetered on the edge of extinction.

Age 780 — Southeast Pacific

A black submarine surfaced near a small island. Waves lapped against its hull. The hatch opened.

A young man in an orange gi leaped out first—one-armed, body coiled tight, eyes scanning the beach like a cornered animal.

"Bulma! Trunks!" His voice cut through the silence. "Clear! Those two demons aren't here!"

Moments later, a teenage boy with lavender hair floated out, supporting a middle-aged woman. Deep lines creased her face. Gray streaked her hair. They landed on the sand.

Trunks stared at the island. "Mom... you're sure the signal came from here?"

Before Bulma could answer, Gohan spoke. "Don't question her, Trunks. My dad always said Bulma's a genius. She doesn't make mistakes."

Bulma's fists clenched. "No mistakes?" Her voice cracked. "If I'd taken that email seriously... if I hadn't dismissed it as a prank..." She shook her head. "Maybe none of this would've happened."

"Bulma, you couldn't have known—"

"Mom." Trunks cut in, firm but gentle. "We can argue about blame later. Right now, we need to find Gero's lab. You said there might be something there. Something that can help us beat Seventeen and Eighteen."

Gohan nodded. "He's right. Let's move."

Bulma bit her lip. Nodded.

She pulled out a scanner. The three of them followed its signal to a cave entrance.

Gohan led. Trunks stayed close to Bulma. They descended into darkness.

The tunnel ended at a solid rock wall.

Trunks frowned. "Mom, did we take a wrong turn?"

Bulma stepped forward. Her fingers traced the stone surface—searching, probing. Then she stopped. Pulled out a laptop. Found a hidden port in a crevice. Plugged in.

Her fingers flew across the keyboard.

The wall groaned. Then rose.

Behind it: a wide corridor. Polished metal. Bright lights. Spotless.

"Whoa..." Trunks breathed. "Hidden in plain sight."

"Gero was paranoid," Bulma muttered, eyes on her screen. "But not paranoid enough. That email gave me the backdoor access. This is just one of his labs, though. No guarantee we'll find what we need."

She closed the laptop. "Let's go."

They walked through the corridor. At the end, a heavy metal door slid open automatically—Bulma's earlier hack still active.

The lab sprawled before them.

Equipment lined the walls. Papers scattered across desks. Dust coated everything—thick, undisturbed. No one had been here in years.

Bulma went straight to the main terminal. Held her breath. Hit the power button.

The screen flickered. Came to life.

She exhaled. "Still functional. Gero's backup power held. Say what you want about the man—he knew how to build things that last."

Her fingers danced across the keys. A directory appeared.

[Lab Journal]

She opened it.

Her face fell.

"Only Androids 10, 11, and 12," she said quietly. "Nothing on Thirteen, Fourteen, or Fifteen. And definitely nothing on Seventeen or Eighteen."

Gohan's jaw tightened. Trunks looked away.

"Figures," Gohan muttered. Then, after a pause: "Let's check the older logs anyway. Might be something useful."

Bulma nodded. Clicked the first file.

[Age 761 — October 12]

Satellite detected massive energy signature entering Earth's atmosphere. Deployed reconnaissance drones immediately.

Results: alien confronting Son Goku and his allies. The alien called himself Raditz—a Saiyan from Planet Vegeta. Claims Goku is his brother. Goku lost his memory. Forgot his mission to conquer Earth.

Damn it. So that's why Goku was so strong. He's an alien!

Goku and Piccolo teamed up. Killed Raditz. Goku died too. Good riddance.

But he'll come back. Dragon Balls. Always the Dragon Balls.

Fine. I'll use this. Saiyan cells. Fuse Goku's DNA with Raditz's. Create Android 10. The ultimate weapon.

Gohan? That brat? His power spikes are too unstable. Useless. Won't bother with his cells.

Gohan's eye twitched. "Unstable? Useless? This guy seriously underestimated me."

Trunks smirked despite himself. "Gohan, you okay?"

"Fine," Gohan muttered. "Just annoyed."

Bulma kept reading.

[Age 762 — January 14]

Success! Android 10 is complete! Fusion of Goku and Raditz's cells. Combat power exceeds Raditz's. Perfect. I'll wait for the right moment to strike.

[Age 762 — February 3]

DAMN IT! Why is Ten's body collapsing?! Genetic breakdown! The theory was sound! WHY?!

Bulma nodded slowly. "So that's why we never saw Android 10. Self-destructed during testing."

She scrolled down.

More logs. More failures.

Android 11—fused cells from Goku, Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa. Combat power ten times Vegeta's initial Power Level.

Result: genetic collapse. Same as Ten.

[Date Unknown]

Why does this keep happening?! Ten failed. Eleven failed. Is Saiyan DNA incompatible with synthetic fusion?

Wait. Male Saiyans. All of them. Same-sex rejection? What if I use female DNA as the base? Graft the Saiyan genes onto that instead?

[Date Unknown]

It worked. Female DNA as the primary template. Saiyan genes grafted on. No rejection. No collapse.

Android 12 is stable. Combat power: fifty times Vegeta's initial level. Equivalent to 900,000. Surpasses Frieza's base form.

Perfect. Now I just wait for Goku to return. Revenge is close.

Gohan's mouth twitched. "Fifty times Vegeta's initial power... that's 900,000. Stronger than Frieza's first form. But Dad surpassed that ages ago."

Bulma's eyes lit up. "There. Android 12. The one who sent me the email."

Trunks leaned in. "Mom, you're sure it was her?"

"Positive. Keep reading."

[Date Unknown]

Twelve's personality is too soft. She obeys on the surface but spares targets behind my back. I need a weapon, not a saint. Time for reprogramming.

[Date Unknown]

Reprogramming failed. She refuses to kill.

[Date Unknown]

She contacted Bulma. Sent an email warning her. Unacceptable. Sealing her away.

[Date Unknown]

Close call. Twelve tried to kill me. Good thing I prepared countermeasures. She's sealed now. Too valuable to scrap. I'll break her eventually.

[Date Unknown]

Two more aliens. Power Levels far beyond Twelve's. Frieza and King Cold.

Wait—Frieza's half-mechanical? Cybernetic enhancements can reach that level?

Perfect. I'll steal the data. Build something stronger.

Frieza's body is too dangerous to approach directly. But his ship... there should be spare mechanical parts there.

Found them. Backup limbs. And I hacked the ship's mainframe. Downloaded their technology.

Goku destroyed the ship before I could get more, but it's enough. More than enough.

This lab's compromised. Time to move to the next one. I'll build the ultimate Androids there.

Bulma sat back. Exhaled slowly.

"So that's how he did it," she whispered. "Gero stole Frieza's cybernetic data. That's why Seventeen and Eighteen are so strong."

She stood. Walked across the lab. Stopped in front of a large capsule.

The number 12 was printed on its surface.

Trunks stepped closer, uneasy. "Mom... are you sure about this? What if she's dangerous?"

Bulma shook her head. "Android 8 fought alongside Goku against the Red Ribbon Army. Not all Androids are evil, Trunks. And according to these logs, Twelve was sealed because she refused to kill. She even tried to warn me."

Gohan placed a hand on Trunks's shoulder. "Her Power Level's lower than yours. If something goes wrong, we can handle it."

Trunks hesitated. Then nodded.

Bulma pressed the release button.

White vapor hissed out. The capsule opened slowly.

The mist cleared.

All three of them froze.

A girl.

No older than sixteen. Silver-white hair cascaded past her shoulders. Smooth skin. Delicate features. She lay perfectly still, eyes closed, like she'd been sleeping for centuries.

Gohan's heart skipped. "She's... beautiful."

The girl's eyes opened.

Red irises. Sharp. Confused.

"Who are you?" Her voice was soft. Uncertain.

Bulma stepped forward. "My name is Bulma. You sent me an email. Years ago."

The girl blinked. Stared at Bulma's face—the wrinkles, the gray hair.

Her eyes widened.

"What the—" She sat up abruptly. "You're Bulma? Why do you look so old?!" She pressed a hand to her forehead. "Wait. Hold on. How long was I out?!"
