Chapter 191 - *Chapter 190: Reinforcing Winterfell to the North, The Person in the Shadows*

The North, White Harbor

"Caw, caw..."

Amidst the bursts of crowing, Maester Xio Mo of House Manderly caught a raven after spotting it; he was currently located in the Raven Tower of the Manderly family's castle.

After skillfully removing the parchment tied to the raven's leg, Maester Xio Mo read it carefully, but the further down he read, the more shocked his expression became.

After picking up the parchment, he wanted to rush out the door, but just as he reached the entrance, he suddenly remembered something. He changed direction, crumpled the parchment into a ball, and threw it into the fireplace of the room.

"For Lannister!"

After whispering these words, Maester Xio Mo returned to his workbench. Maester Xio Mo, who had a reddish complexion and curly golden hair, was a Lannister.

Thus, due to the actions of this Lannister, the letter for help from Winterfell vanished into the fireplace.

However, in a certain tavern unknown to Maester Xio Mo, several merchants from Lys had already transmitted the events occurring in Winterfell toward the Vale.

At this time, the Northern army was stationed at the Castle of the Moon in the Vale, preparing to join forces with the Mountain Clans and the Vale nobility to head west out of the High Road.

Of course, the situation at White Harbor was just an isolated case; several other castles in the North received Winterfell's call for help at roughly the same time and were already planning to organize armies to rescue Winterfell.

While the entire North was a scene of chaos, in a corner of White Harbor, a grim-faced Jon stepped out from the void with the help of a dragon.

At this moment, Jon felt very strange because he had originally intended to use the power of the Dimensional Dragon to travel directly to Winterfell. However, on the map provided by the system, he couldn't find the light point for Winterfell, so he could only settle for White Harbor.

"Why is everything so strange today? Forget it, I should hurry and contact the Manderly family!"

After searching the surrounding area by controlling small animals, Jon finally understood where he was. Upon reaching Fishmonger's Square, Jon found the main road leading to the Manderly family's castle.

Today, Jon was still wearing his signature black armor and blood-red cloak. After circling Fishmonger's Square, his unfamiliar face quickly caught the attention of the members of the White Harbor City Watch.

"Halt! Who are you?"

Just as Jon turned a corner, a voice suddenly called out to him. Immediately after, a large group of soldiers in silver armor swarmed in from all directions of the street.

"Outsider! How did you get in? Why haven't I seen you before?"

A man who looked like an officer asked directly upon seeing Jon.

"Eh... eh... you... are you Jon... Lord Aegon? No... His Majesty Aegon?"

Just as the officer-like man was about to continue his questioning, his expression instantly changed.

"And you are?"

"His Majesty Aegon! I'm Lemon! Have you forgotten? When you first came to White Harbor, I was the one who led you to the New Castle."

After confirming Jon's identity, the officer named Lemon instantly changed his demeanor. He rushed in front of Jon with a familiar air and began talking about past events.

The man was very excited and hurriedly tried to signal the surrounding soldiers to kneel and pay respects to Jon. However, because he was in a hurry, Jon directly ordered the soldiers to waive these formalities.

With the help of this City Watch captain named Lemon, Jon soon met Lord Wyman Manderly. At that moment, Lord Wyman Manderly was having lunch with his children; upon hearing Lemon's report, they ran out immediately.

"Alright, respected Lord Wyman! No need for formalities. I want to know, what is the current situation in Winterfell?"

"Winterfell!?"

Wyman Manderly was a somewhat obese old man with a white beard. Upon hearing Jon's question, he looked completely bewildered.

"Very well, respected His Majesty Aegon! I think I know what's going on. Ser Axell!"

After a moment of thought, Lord Wyman Manderly immediately realized who was causing trouble behind the scenes, so he hurriedly shouted an order to his captain of the guard.

"Lord Wyman! I need you to quickly organize an army to take me to Winterfell. The following troops are also arriving. Our path west has been blocked by House Lannister, so we can only take the route through Moat Cailin now."

Recently, a massive army of the undead had suddenly appeared in the Mountains of the Moon. They were very similar to the zombies Jon summoned, causing great trouble for the Mountain Clans and the Vale alliance.

After personally investigating for a while, Jon found these zombies to be very scattered, with no discernible patterns or roots to be found, as if they had appeared out of thin air.

Furthermore, these zombies actually behaved like wolf packs, knowing how to avoid danger and cooperate. After the vanguard suffered heavy losses, Jon gave up the idea of heading west from the High Road into the Riverlands.

The vanguard frequently encountered attacks from zombies on the road, and those Mountain Clan tribes unwilling to submit to Jon would also occasionally jump out to cause trouble.

The most important point was that Tywin Lannister had gathered knights and sellswords from some small houses in the Riverlands, letting these people of little strength wage guerrilla warfare against Jon's vanguard near the High Road.

In the end, having no other choice, Jon chose to come to the North, intending to consolidate the army and head south from Moat Cailin.

But what Jon didn't expect was that just as his plan was proposed, news came of a conspiracy to seize Winterfell.

Coupled with the recent inability to teleport to Winterfell, Jon felt a hint of unease. Whether it was those fellows from the North or that Demon King who had made a move, Jon didn't quite know.

However, in this situation, Jon could only go to rescue Winterfell first. If his 'uncle' couldn't hold the North, then Jon's plan for a secure rear would be on the verge of collapse.

Without having secured the Seven Kingdoms, Jon truly lacked the confidence to face the Night King, that world champion of the javelin. Although the power of dragonstone was great, if the Night King threw a spear at him, Jon felt he wouldn't be able to withstand it at all.

"By the Seven! Has House Lannister also produced someone who has mastered supernatural abilities like you? This is truly not good news!"

After sending his son Willis Manderly to gather the army, Wyman Manderly learned the whole story from Jon.

"His Majesty Aegon, if I'm not mistaken, the incident at Winterfell should also be the handiwork of those fellows from the south."

"I think so too. It's quite possible the Ironborn are involved as well; those fellows are never up to any good."

After listening to Lord Wyman Manderly's analysis, Jon agreed completely and proposed another possibility.

Just as Lord Wyman Manderly was about to speak again, Maester Xio Mo was dragged in by the knight named Axell.

"Thud..."

"Ouch... it hurts..."

After being slammed hard onto the blue-carpeted floor by Ser Axell, Maester Xio Mo groaned in pain.

"Xio Mo Lannister, you have betrayed your maester's vows. In the name of the Lord of White Harbor, I am taking you into custody until the Citadel sends a new maester."

"I've been wronged! Lord Wyman, I truly haven't betrayed you!"

Ignoring Maester Xio Mo's pleas for mercy, Wyman Manderly gave the order. As the man was taken away, the old lord spoke as if to himself.

"I told you long ago, since you came to White Harbor, you must abandon your former family and kin. I have given you many chances."

After Maester Xio Mo left, Lord Wyman Manderly hurriedly explained some of the fellow's circumstances to Jon.

"It seems I should still hire a few alchemists from the Kingdom of the Three Daughters. These maesters are truly too troublesome. I don't want a second Xio Mo Lannister to appear!"

After this interlude, Jon waited in the castle for news from Willis Manderly. During this time, Lord Wyman Manderly very warmly introduced his two daughters to Jon.

It had to be said that although Lord Wyman Manderly was somewhat homely, his two daughters were quite beautiful. It seemed his wife's bloodline was much stronger.

These two girls of House Manderly were also very fashionable, with their hair dyed green. After greeting them, Jon declined Wyman Manderly's plan to send his daughters over for a chat.

After about two hours of arrangements, an army escorted by a fleet began to advance little by little toward the upper reaches of the White Knife River.

Sitting at the bow of the ship, Jon glanced at the surroundings and then unconsciously turned his gaze toward the north.

The White Knife River is the largest and longest river in the North. By following it north from White Harbor, one can reach a small lake near Winterfell.

These large ships could still travel normally. Once they reached the territory of House Cerwyn, Jon and the others could follow House Cerwyn's roads all the way north, straight to the vicinity of Winterfell.

"Hahaha, come! Respected His Majesty Aegon, don't be in a hurry, have some water first!"

Just then, Willis Manderly suddenly handed a waterskin to Jon. After taking a sip, Jon asked Ser Willis.

"Under normal circumstances, how long will it take us to get there?"

Upon hearing Jon's question, Willis hurriedly said:

"Under normal circumstances, we only need about seven days to arrive. You can rest assured, our Manderly family sailors are very capable. We will surely complete this rescue mission."

"I hope so! Who knows what kind of ghostly things are waiting for us in Winterfell?"
