The North, Winterfell, Great Hall
"Hahaha, drink! Let's drink together!"
Theon Greyjoy was excitedly pulling the Ironborn to drink with him, while his sister, Yara Greyjoy, sat in the seat before the hall's ramparts, watching him.
Beside Yara sat a person who, despite wearing a cloak and hood, could still be identified as a woman by the faint scent of perfume and her manner of drinking.
"Hey, Yara! Why aren't you drinking?"
Seeing that his sister, whom he could barely recognize, had no reaction, Theon ran straight to her.
"We've been here for many days; let's leave quickly! This place is far from the sea, and the Drowned God's great power cannot reach here. Leaving early is for our own good."
Theon did not quite agree with his sister's words.
"We've already captured Winterfell. There are massive amounts of grain and armor here. When Eddard Stark was in King's Landing, he purchased a large amount of food and weapons in advance, and that damn bastard also sent a lot of food and supplies here."
Theon grew more excited as he spoke, walking directly to the center of the hall. After scanning the surrounding Ironborn, he said loudly:
"My dear Ironborn brothers! This place is a natural fortress. As long as we hold it, the strength of the Northmen will be pinned down."
After saying these words, Theon turned his head to look at his sister, Yara Greyjoy.
"My dear sister, as long as we stall the few Northern troops here, our father's army can directly take Moat Cailin. Once we cut off the supplies to Moat Cailin, our father will become the true King of the North and the Isles."
It must be said that although Theon didn't have much talent, his eloquence was top-notch. With his shouts, everyone present was moved.
Even Yara Greyjoy, who had been watching the scene, silently pondered the issue. Winterfell's stockpile of supplies far exceeded her expectations.
The variety of new weapons and food reserves left Yara dazzled. No wonder her 300 Ironborn had suffered such heavy losses.
Yara couldn't imagine; if she had led an army to attack this place in a head-on battle, it would probably have cost ten thousand men to take it.
"I heard that the army from the Vale has arrived. Are we really going to keep defending this place?"
Just then, the woman who had been sitting beside Yara suddenly spoke. Upon hearing her charming and soft voice, a wicked fire was instantly ignited in Theon.
"Is this beautiful lady someone of yours? My dear sister!"
At this moment, Theon, who was already slightly tipsy, had eyes that were becoming a bit hazy.
"Ahem, Theon, I forgot to introduce you. This is Lady Sonia. She... she is our father's... um..."
"Hehehe, little Yara doesn't need to be so shy, I can accept it. Hello, Theon! I am your father's mistress. My name is Sonia, and the 'Black Fang' mercenary group I lead is serving House Greyjoy."
As the woman named Sonia removed her hood, her beautiful silver curly hair fell from her shoulders. Her face was very exquisite and full of charm.
Her eyes were golden, and those unique slit pupils gave her a different kind of charm and temperament. It was because of this action that everyone in the hall focused their gaze on her.
"He... hello, re... respected lady, it's a pleasure to meet you!"
"What a cute little handsome guy, just as full of presence as your father."
Yara, hearing Sonia's compliment, couldn't help but recall her thin and expressionless father.
This woman really could say anything.
Seeing her brother's embarrassment, Yara quickly spoke up:
"Enough, My Lady! You are also one of the leaders of this operation. Please share your opinion!"
"Hehehe, it's actually nothing. In my opinion, since we can't move these things for now, we should just burn them all down!"
Seeing the surprised looks of those around her, Sonia explained calmly:
"The Ironborn must eventually return to the sea. Everything here is incompatible with us. If we stay, who's to say the next one to open the city gates won't be these residents of Winterfell?"
Sonia's words made the Ironborn involuntarily recall previous events. It was because of Theon's presence that Winterfell had been so easily breached.
As the largest castle in the North, Winterfell housed nearly a thousand servants who worked on the daily maintenance of the castle.
Although someone had suggested dealing with these servants at the beginning, there were nearly thirty thousand residents on the outskirts of Winterfell. These Ironborn didn't dare gamble on being able to kill everyone instead of being killed by the angry residents of Winterfell.
"Let's take it slow and contact Father first."
After listening to Sonia's suggestion, Yara still couldn't bring herself to do it. The grain and supplies here were simply too much. Initially, she had looked down on the decision to raid the North.
But after learning about the food reserves in Winterfell and the surrounding castles, Yara felt proud of her father's decision.
"Hehehe, I hope you don't regret it then!"
After saying this, Sonia put on her hood, stood up, and took her leave.
Leaving with Sonia were several cloaked men. These were all very agile people; in the previous battle, it was they who had scaled the north gate and opened the city gates.
When Sonia left, the cloak still didn't hide her curvaceous figure, causing the feasting Ironborn to feel waves of excitement.
After Sonia left, the hall fell back into a joyful atmosphere, but Yara fell into deep thought after seeing her departing figure.
Meanwhile, Sonia walked toward the Great Keep of Winterfell after leaving. Under the moonlight, the shadow of the massive heart tree looked like an ancient monster.
"You guys go and prepare. Place some flammable materials at key locations. Lord Naegor's plan must not fail."
"Yes, Lady Sonia!"
Several cloaked men bowed to Sonia and then turned to disappear into the night. At this time, only a somewhat thin man remained by Sonia's side.
"Jafar! If you were to get close to that Dragon King, are you confident you could kill him?"
After arranging the actions of those around her, Sonia asked the thin man.
"Insufficient intelligence. I cannot determine the target's strength. Much of the information about him is like a myth. If we go by the highest standards, I can at most wound him, not kill him."
The thin man named Jafar revealed his cold and determined face under the moonlight. His eyes, like Sonia's, were golden slit pupils, though there were faint traces of bloodshot veins within them.
"Then let it be for now! Our people in White Harbor have already seen that guy. He really does possess some terrifying ability to migrate, just like the legends say. The most recent intelligence showed he was in Essos. This guy is too terrifying; I wonder if he will appear right before us next time and kill us."
When Sonia said this, there was a hint of fear in her voice. This was the first time she had seen such a situation.
"Lord Naegor said that all magic comes with a price. Some things are likely just exaggerated rumors."
The cloaked man named Jafar spoke directly. In his view, missions were meant to be executed. If his master truly needed him to kill this terrifying existence, he would surely swing his dagger bravely.
"Hmm!?"
Just then, the man named Jafar suddenly rushed toward a corner. There, someone hiding in the shadows didn't have time to react before feeling a chill on their neck.
"Don't kill me, don't kill me! I'm one of Lady Yara's men, you can't do this to me!"
If Jafar wanted to kill this person, it would only take a flick of his hand. It was precisely because he knew the other's identity that he only intimidated him.
"Go tell your Lady Yara that we have always been one. There's no need for this. If I wanted to deal with you, none of you would escape."
After saying this to the thin Ironborn who was already too frightened to speak, Sonia twisted her slender waist and walked toward the Great Keep.
After making a throat-slitting gesture to the young Ironborn eavesdropper, Jafar quickly followed Sonia.
"These people don't seem to trust you very much. Can you really continue like this?"
"Hmph! These idiotic fools don't understand anything at all. They are just useless trash. The future belongs to us. We are the true Children of God; these mortals only deserve to be our stepping stones and slaves."
Sonia didn't care much about Yara's distrust. In her eyes, these people were just like pawns.
"Let these guys stay here. We can just carry out our plan as normal. If there's a chance, it's best to take advantage of the chaos to kill that Eddard Stark."
After Winterfell was breached, Eddard Stark and his family and retainers were taken into custody. Due to their special status, Yara Greyjoy had been sending people to guard them closely.
The mission Sonia received was to disrupt the situation in the North to prevent Jon from heading south normally, in order to buy more time for House Lannister to wipe out Stannis.
