Fall. The crisp leaves were slowly falling, carried by the cold and breezy wind. This might be the transition into winter, but for Lukas… it was the start of a new chapter in his life.
Students' laughter echoed in the background as he swiftly moved through the hallways of the place where he would begin what many adults called the most important years of a teen's life.
"I'll be late on the first day of school!!!"
Lukas mentally shouted as he hurried down the corridor, turning his head from side to side while searching for his classroom.
His golden hair shone as he ran through the hallway, desperately trying to find his room.
"Where is it? Where is it?"
"This school wasn't this big when I first saw it—wait, is this it?"
Lukas accidentally walked into the wrong classroom.
"Uh… what room is this?"
He asked someone inside.
"So this is Room 201… let's see what my room is."
Lukas checked his bag for his room number.
"Uh… this isn't my room… OMG, OMG."
As Lukas began to panic and hurriedly exited the classroom, he didn't even have time to check the clock.
"That was so embarrassing. Is this the start of my loser high school era?!"
Five minutes later…
"Room 201, 202, 203… Yesss, 204!! Finally, I found it!"
Lukas said to himself.
As he opened the classroom door, all eyes turned toward him.
"O-oh, I must be late. Haha… haha…"
Lukas thought as he let out an awkward laugh.
He bowed to the teacher as a sign of apology.
"You are late,"
his teacher said.
"Sorry, sir. I got lost in the school," Lukas replied, embarrassed.
The classroom snickered—not in mockery, but because Lukas looked cute and unintentionally funny.
"We're done introducing ourselves. You should introduce yourself too,"
the teacher said.
"I am Lukas Ashford, 16 years old, and something I like is… the ocean. Please take care of me!"
After that, Lukas sat at the back and observed his classmates.
"Hmmm… they must be smart."
Lukas had been a consistent honor student at his previous school, so it was no surprise that he got into the First Section, also known as the Star Section.
Everyone in the room looked intimidating compared to his lousy entrance earlier.
Ten minutes later…
Another teacher walked in. Lukas assumed he was the class adviser and immediately sat up straighter.
Lukas already expected that high school studies would be difficult. Yet he continuously prayed that the lessons wouldn't be too hard.
"Dear Heavenly Father, I hope our teacher is gentle, kind, and good at teaching—not some monstrous kille—"
He thought to himself as the teacher began discussing the school rules, regulations, and requirements..
Now we can officially say that this moment will be the point in which Lukas Ashford realized that high school is just the prologue of his life's drama.
