Lukas and his sister went outside to build a sandcastle.
"Here, sis. We can build here—it's a nice spot."
"Sure."
As they were building their sandcastle, a kid suddenly came running toward them.
"Hey, Lukas, dodge!" his sister shouted.
But it was too late. The kid ran straight through the sandcastle and tripped, falling onto Lukas.
"Cough, cough—"
The kid stared at Lukas' face as if he had just seen something beautiful.
"Hey, aren't you going to step aside?" Lukas said, slightly annoyed.
The kid was still in a daze.
A few seconds later, the kid's parents rushed over.
"Heath, you should apologize to them," one of his parents said.
"I'm sorry. I accidentally ran into your sandcastle and tripped on you. I was running too fast—I couldn't stop my feet," the kid said shyly.
"It's okay. We can build a new one," Lukas' sister replied kindly.
"Oh! I'll help you build a new one," Heath offered eagerly.
So they started rebuilding the sandcastle together. As they worked, Lukas' sister noticed how close the two boys had become in just an hour
Lukas' parents walked toward them, and once again, Heath's parents apologized.
"Oh no, it's alright," Lukas' mom said gently.
Lukas' sister invited Heath and his parents to join them for dinner.
"Oh, we're alright," Heath's mom replied politely.
But Lukas' parents insisted.
"Please, Mom. I want to eat together with Lukas and his family," Heath said, looking hopeful.
"Yeah, eat with us!" Lukas added excitedly.
Finally, Heath's parents gave in.
"Don't go too far, kids," Heath's dad reminded them.
"Got it!" Lukas and Heath said at the same time.
