Chapter 42 - Unexpected Change

The soft voice of a boy rang through the door and throughout the classroom.

Immediately, Moonlight hid his head under the desk, along with the Rowl. Something told him this was going to be both interesting and boring, so he let the caller waste his voice.

The boy called again, and again, and after two to three times, he stopped, sighed. 'He isn't here either. Why do I have to be the one to do this? Oh…yeah…' Still, the boy stood at the door, probably thinking of where else to go next.

"Um…um, the Adna is in this class. He's sitting there." said one of Moonlight classmates while she pointed directly towards his seat.

The boy messenger smirked. 'Oh…'

"Thanks, I didn't even notice." The boy thanked her with a warm smile. Before, moving over to Moonlight's seat.

When he reached, his expression shifted as he laid eyes on the rowl. But, 'Get it together.' He told himself.

"Are you Moonlight Adna? The school is calling you, please follow me." He said without skipping a single word.

Moonlight clicked his tongue, scowled and eventually, rose up. Shocked, the boy shifted back a little, but what took his curiosity away, was when the rowl climbed Moonlight's body, all the way to the head. 'Calm down. It's just an unknown beast. Nothing to be scared about,' the boy reassured himself.

With no time to waste, the boy ran out the class, making sure to greet the whole class before he departed. From behind, Moonlight slowly followed.

Moonlight was led to the stairway which connected the lower and the upper floor. From there, he was taken to the second floor. The hallway trek seemed a bit long and the boy messenger also seemed to be bored of the quietness that enveloped them currently.

"Huh…that thing on your head, is it friendly?" The boy said.

Moonlight said nothing.

"Uh…okay…" said the boy, drawing the end of the whimsy conservation he was about to start.

The last room at the left hallway, the class of 10, unlike Moonlight's previous class, this one was particularly noisy and incredibly chatty. The messenger stopped at the front of the class, then faced Moonlight. "The principal told me that this is your class from now on. Welcome to your new class."

"Huh?"

"My name is Elan, the class prefect of Class of 10. It's a pleasure working with you."

The boy immediately introduced himself and to add, he brought his hand out for a shake. Moonlight took a glance at the classroom and sighed, before accepting the handshake of the seemingly head of the class.

Moonlight walked in.

Naturally, no one still dared speak to him or even go near him, but, the one singularity was that their internal murmurs and thoughts told different stories. Moonlight took a seat by the window side where he saw from where he was being looked down upon.

Moments later, Rociv Victor entered the room and suddenly, no one spoke a word after. From the start of the school day, he has been moving from class to class, giving them a one hour speech of the so-called summary of the school. He moved tirelessly, disregarding his own personal health and yet, his body, voice and appearance were in perfect condition.

All he said were just a summary of an already given piece of information he already gave in the morning. He finished speaking at approximately one hour and when he was done, he left the class and immediately, their voiced returned.

However, few minutes after he left, a sudden uproar occurred from the back.

"You better stay where you are!" a voice roared.

~THUD~ a thrown fist landed on a guy's jaw, followed by an onslaught of blows with each making a thud. A student was sent flying through the air though, the wall caught him; he was not safe.

The frame of a big child about 5'2 in height, held the collar of the thrown boy. "Don't dare go anywhere," he reprimanded him.

On the other side, the other child being held looked beaten up. "He he, what did you eat in these few months? You sure have gotten big. Kuf, kuf…" The guy spat out blood. "Fine you win, I won't go there."

"Thank you."

With that, the big child dropped him and walked out.

"Hey there, those two are Desmond and Destiny. The bigger is Desmond while the smaller is Destiny," said the voice of Elan, whom sat alongside Moonlight. "They are one of the troublemakers of the class."

"Aren't you the head, stop them?" Moonlight asked.

Elan shifted away. "W-well, I may be strong but I'm not mad enough to stop them. Besides, their fights are so consistent that a week without their quarrels is considered incomplete." Elan let a few laughs slip away before he shut up once more.

Suddenly, as if pre-planned, a ray of sunshine fell on his body, causing his grey hair to shine with an outstanding hue. "It's soon time."

Elan got up, yawned and stretched. "Here's a piece of advice, the bell rings one hour and thirty minutes after noon during the first week of a term. From then onward, the bell rings three hours after noo…"

RING~RING~

Thus, the closing bell rang.

"See, I'm always right. Good bye."

Then, Elan left the classroom.

Slightly puzzled, Moonlight huffed and looked at the class, it wasn't yet empty as the students still conversed with each other. For some reason, he decided to take a rest. Hence, he placed his head on the desk and closed his eyes.

While he took a short nap, the class slowly emptied. The sun began to set even faster. By the time he woke up, the sky cast a reddish-yellowish glow and the clouds were prepared to depart.

He rose up, picked up the rowl, looked to see if there really was anyone else, then jumped down through the window and headed to the gate.

The man at the gate was sleeping soundly and did not notice Moonlight opened the gate and just walked past through.

Then, just then,

"What are you still doing here?"
