"Do you not trust me?" Levi replied.
By saying that, it was clear he had no intention of offering anything as collateral.
Leonardo shook his head.
"You're Margaret's cousin. I can't trust you just like that. If you're trying to help her teach me a lesson, I'll be the one taking the loss," Leonardo said.
"I have nothing to do with that woman," Levi answered.
"I still need a guarantee," Leonardo insisted.
From his perspective, even with William's group assisting, Levi didn't seem completely confident.
His flying boat probably wasn't fast or agile enough in combat, which was why he wanted Leonardo's wolf to carry him.
Leonardo was actually quite confident he could save his wolf if something went wrong, which was why he dared to consider it. Still, he had to be cautious. If Levi had bad intentions, he didn't want to be the one losing out.
"If you can't provide one, I'm leaving now," Leonardo added, patting Liam's shoulder.
The wolf immediately spread his wings.
