Kisaragi revealed a Quick-Play Spell.
"I activate Roar of the Silver Dragon! Its effect lets me Special Summon one Dragon-type Normal Monster from my Graveyard."
Kaiba's eyes narrowed.
"Don't tell me—"
"Correct. Come forth—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
A second white dragon burst onto the field—now two Blue-Eyes White Dragons faced each other across the arena, growling and posturing like rival kings.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500)
"So you used my attack to recover Life Points—and then turned it into a Blue-Eyes summon," Kaiba said, genuinely surprised.
"My turn—draw!"
Kisaragi's gaze flicked between Kaiba and the dragon at his side.
Kaiba summoned Blue-Eyes in a single turn… But in this period, most duelists can barely manage basic summons. Someone who can drop a high-level monster that fast should be incredibly rare.
"Host," the system's voice sounded in her head, "due to the rule changes, duelists in this world have also been upgraded. And the further the story progresses, the stronger duelists will become. If you keep taking it easy, you will eventually be defeated."
"…Fair enough," Kisaragi murmured. "Bullying 'primitive duelists' too hard isn't fun anyway. A duel is only exciting when it goes back and forth."
She placed a card down.
"I activate the Equip Spell Dragon Treasure from my hand! This card can only be equipped to a Dragon. The equipped monster gains 300 ATK and 300 DEF. I equip it to my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
"What?!" Kaiba snapped.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK 3300 / DEF 2800)
"Now my Blue-Eyes has higher Attack than yours," Kisaragi said coolly. "Battle! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack Kaiba's Blue-Eyes—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
The instant she declared the attack, Kaiba flipped his set card.
"I activate the Trap Card Attack Disable! It negates your Blue-Eyes' attack—and ends the Battle Phase!"
Kisaragi clicked her tongue lightly.
"So it was Attack Disable."
She slipped another card onto the field.
"I Set one monster in face-down Defense Position, Set one card, and end my turn."
(Cards in hand: 1)
Kaiba watched her without blinking.
Completely composed… I've faced countless duelists, but very few stay this calm under pressure.
"My turn—draw!"
Her Blue-Eyes is still stronger because of that Equip Spell, Kaiba thought. I need to take back control.
"I activate Pot of Greed from my hand. I draw two cards!"
His eyes flashed with satisfaction as he saw what he'd drawn.
"I activate the Spell Stamping Destruction! As long as I control a Dragon, I can destroy one Spell or Trap Card on the field—and the controller of that destroyed card takes 500 damage!"
Kisaragi's expression didn't change.
"I'm destroying Dragon Treasure!"
A massive dragon's foot manifested from the spell's magic circle, slamming down toward the Equip Spell—
"Got you."
Kisaragi discarded one card.
"I activate the Counter Trap Judgment of Anubis!"
Kaiba's eyes widened.
"What?!"
"By discarding one card," Kisaragi said crisply, "I negate and destroy a Spell Card your opponent controls that has an effect to destroy Spell/Trap Cards. Then I destroy one face-up monster your opponent controls, and inflict damage equal to that monster's Attack!"
She lifted her hand toward Kaiba's field.
"So your Stamping Destruction fails to destroy my Dragon Treasure. Instead, I destroy your Blue-Eyes White Dragon—and you take 3000 damage!"
Seto Kaiba: LP 4000 → 1000
Kaiba stared at her, jaw tightening.
"You predicted I'd go after your Equip Spell?"
"Of course," Kisaragi said. "You wanted to regain the initiative. The fastest way was to pull our attack values back to the same line."
"Tch… so you saw right through my play," Kaiba muttered, eyes flicking to his hand.
He slammed down another card.
"I activate Monster Reborn! Return—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500) returned to the field.
"Then I activate Silent Doom from my hand! I Special Summon Kaiser Sea Horse from my Graveyard in Defense Position!"
Kaiser Sea Horse (DEF 1650) appeared.
"I Tribute Kaiser Sea Horse—and Tribute Summon my second Blue-Eyes White Dragon in Attack Position!"
Another white dragon descended, its roar shaking the platform.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon (ATK 3000 / DEF 2500)
"President Kaiba," Kisaragi said with a confident smile, "even if you summon a second Blue-Eyes, its Attack still won't surpass mine."
"Hmph. I know," Kaiba said coldly. "But I can attack your Defense Position monster."
"Battle! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack her face-down Defense monster—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
The blast detonated over Kisaragi's set monster—
—and a small, pot-shaped creature was revealed in the explosion.
"That is—"
"President Kaiba," Kisaragi said evenly, "you attacked my Morphing Jar. When it's flipped face-up, both players discard their entire hands, then draw five cards."
She spread her hands.
"My hand is already empty—so I simply draw five."
Kaiba scowled, discarded his only card, then drew five new ones.
He set two cards face-down.
"I Set two cards. End my turn."
(Cards in hand: 3)
Next turn… the duel turns, Kaiba thought.
Kisaragi quietly studied Kaiba's two face-down cards.
Kaiba has two Blue-Eyes on the field. If I were him, I'd sacrifice one Blue-Eyes to trade with mine—then use the other to push damage.
And he's probably confident in that plan because he thinks my deck only contains one Blue-Eyes.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
In that case—
Kisaragi finished her calculation and began her turn.
"My turn—draw!"
