Dark Paladin raised his massive blade as black magic gathered along its edge.
"Shhk—Shhk—SHHK!"
A wave of dark, sword-like energy tore straight toward Blue-Eyes!
"If Yugi's attack gets through—and then Dark Magician Girl attacks—then Yugi wins!" Jonouchi contorted his face dramatically.
At that moment, Kisaragi's voice cut in—cool and crisp.
"I activate the Trap Card Absorbing Shield!"
A green barrier snapped into existence, stopping Dark Paladin's strike cold.
"What?!" Dark Yugi blurted.
"By Absorbing Shield's effect, your attack is negated—and I recover Life Points equal to Dark Paladin's ATK, 6400!"

"She used Yugi's attack to restore a huge amount of Life Points…!" Mai gasped.
"Heh heh heh… anyone who sees the dawn of victory tends to overlook the traps lying in the dark. Yugi-boy—looks like even you aren't an exception," Pegasus said smugly.
"I got careless… I didn't pay attention to her face-downs at all," Dark Yugi muttered, brow furrowed.
"Other me, don't rush," Yugi said inside their shared mind. "Dark Paladin's still at 6400 ATK—even for her, taking it down won't be easy."
"I know, aibo… I can't even picture this monster being defeated," Dark Yugi replied.
"I switch Dark Magician Girl to Defense Position. Turn end." (Cards in hand: 1)

"My turn—draw!"
Kisaragi's lips curved upward when she saw her draw. Dark Yugi's heart felt like it was being squeezed in a fist.
What did she just draw…?
"I activate the Spell Card Burst Stream of Destruction! The cost is that my Blue-Eyes White Dragon can't attack this turn—but in exchange, I destroy all monsters you control!"
"What?!" Dark Yugi immediately threw the only card in his hand into the Graveyard.
"Then I discard one card to activate Dark Paladin's effect—negate and destroy the activation of that Spell!"
The Burst Stream shattered before it could fire.
"Perfect! Her comeback got cut off!" Jonouchi said, relieved.
"No… something's off," Dark Yugi said sharply. "She doesn't look bothered at all. It's like this was exactly what she expected."
"So now you have no cards in hand," Kisaragi said calmly.
"Don't tell me… you used Burst Stream just to drain my hand?!" Dark Yugi demanded, incredulous.
"Exactly. This is my real trump card."
She placed her final hand card onto the field.
"I activate the Spell Card Pot of Avarice! I return five cards from my Graveyard to the Deck, shuffle, then draw two."
"Then that means—" Jonouchi started.
"Right," Bakura answered. "If she returns five Dragon monsters, Dark Paladin's ATK drops by 500 per Dragon removed from field/grave totals."
"Yugi, I return these five cards to my Deck: Lancer Dragonute, The White Stone of Legend, Genesis Dragon Knight, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Pot of Greed. Shuffle—then I draw two!"
"That makes your Dark Paladin's ATK drop by 2000."

"Huh? Why are there still two Dragons left in her Graveyard?" Anzu asked.
Dark Yugi felt the same confusion.
"Yugi, are you wondering why I didn't return five monsters?" Kisaragi smiled.
Before he could answer, she continued.
"I activate the effect of The White Stone of Ancients in my Graveyard. I banish it to add one 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Graveyard to my hand."
"Of course—I choose Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
"And now my Graveyard has two fewer Dragons… so Dark Paladin's ATK drops by another 1000!"

"Even so, my monster still has 3400 ATK," Yugi said steadily.
"I Normal Summon Maiden with Eyes of Blue in Attack Position!"

"An ATK 0 monster… in Attack Position?" Jonouchi blinked.
"And she kinda looks like Kisaragi," Anzu whispered.
"Next, I activate the effect of Sage with Eyes of Blue from my hand: I target Maiden with Eyes of Blue, send Sage to the Graveyard, and send that targeted Maiden to the Graveyard—then I Special Summon a 'Blue-Eyes' monster from my Deck."
"But at that moment," Kisaragi added, "Maiden with Eyes of Blue also activates: when she becomes the target of an effect, I can Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand, Deck, or Graveyard!"
Two Blue-Eyes White Dragons appeared on Kisaragi's field in a flash of white light.
"I gathered three Blue-Eyes at once…!" Dark Yugi exclaimed, then forced himself calm.

"But you added another Dragon to the field," Dark Yugi countered. "My monster's ATK rises by 500 more!"

"Kisaragi finally lowered Dark Paladin's ATK… so why does she keep summoning Dragons?" Jonouchi asked, baffled.
"Yugi," Kisaragi said, eyes sharp, "I'll use this monster to defeat your Dark Paladin!"
