The two forces collided, kicking up a wall of smoke.
When the dust finally cleared…
Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon was still standing—perfectly intact.
Meanwhile, Dark Paladin's body began to fade away like scattered ash.
"Why?! Why is my monster disappearing?!" Dark Yugi roared.
Everyone watching was stunned.
"Yeah! Kisaragi's monster has lower ATK—the one that should vanish is hers!" Jonouchi protested.
Kisaragi's eyes narrowed. "Heh. Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon can't be destroyed by battle. And when it attacks, if that battle doesn't destroy the opponent's monster—it banishes that monster instead."
"So your Dark Paladin is banished."
"But I still take the battle damage."

"I didn't expect a monster with an effect that insane…" Dark Yugi muttered, shaken.
Kisaragi didn't let him breathe.
"Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, attack Dark Magician Girl!"

A flash of white annihilation tore across the field.

Dark Yugi threw his arms up as the blast hit him head-on.

Pegasus let out a low chuckle.
"What an astonishing duel… both possess power far beyond the norm. But at the moment… it seems Yugi-boy is a step behind."

Without hesitation, Dark Yugi slapped the card down.
"I activate the Spell Card Card of Sanctity! By its effect, both players draw until they have six cards in hand!"
"Tch—always draw this when I'm empty-handed," Kisaragi muttered.
Dark Yugi continued immediately.
"I activate the Ritual Spell Super Soldier Synthesis! I tribute Beginning Knight from my hand—and Evening Twilight Knight from my Deck!"
"Ritual Summon—come forth! Super Soldier Chaos Soldier!"
Super Soldier Chaos Soldier (3000/2500)
"Tch… what a troublesome monster," Kisaragi hissed, visibly displeased.
"By using Beginning Knight and Evening Twilight Knight as materials for the Ritual Summon, Chaos Soldier gains additional effects!"
"Beginning Knight grants it: once per turn, banish one of your opponent's monsters, and if it destroys a monster by battle, it can make one extra attack."
"Evening Twilight Knight grants it: once per turn, banish one of your opponent's monsters, and also randomly banish one card from your opponent's hand face-down until the end of their next End Phase!"
"Therefore—Chaos Soldier's effect activates! I randomly banish one card from your hand face-down!"
Kisaragi shuffled her hand, then placed one card—face-down—into the banished zone.
"Next—Chaos Soldier's effect! I banish your Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon!"
A pillar of light wrapped around Twin Burst. It let out a pained roar—then vanished.
"Battle! Chaos Soldier, attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
"Huh? Yugi could've banished Blue-Eyes too and gone straight for a direct attack—why didn't he?" Honda blurted.
"Because he wants the additional attack," Bakura replied evenly.
"But Chaos Soldier's ATK is the same as Blue-Eyes—wouldn't that be mutual destruction?!" Honda argued.
Before the words finished leaving his mouth, Dark Yugi pitched a card into the Graveyard.
"I activate the effect of Chaos Messenger—the card I just sent to the Graveyard! It increases the ATK of my 'Chaos Soldier' by 1500!"
Super Soldier Chaos Soldier (4500/2500)
With a single decisive slash, Chaos Soldier cut Blue-Eyes White Dragon down.
Kisaragi Aoi LP: 8500 → 7000
"And now Chaos Soldier's own effect triggers! When it destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard, you take damage equal to that monster's original ATK!"
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon's original ATK is 3000—so take 3000 damage!"

"Incredible… Kisaragi had over ten thousand Life Points, and Yugi still burned through that much!" Jonouchi gasped.
"And it's not over," Mai said tensely. "Chaos Soldier still has one more attack. If this hits, Yugi wins!"
Pegasus smiled, already convinced.
"Heh heh heh… as expected. A Millennium Item duelist truly is different. What a shame I won't get to duel Miss Kisaragi—now I'll prepare for my duel with Yugi-boy."
"This is the final attack! Chaos Soldier, direct attack!"
The blade was about to reach Kisaragi—
And she calmly flipped a card.
