Yugi and the others shouted her name—they all knew that if Pegasus' direct attack landed, she would lose on the spot.
"Pegasus," Kisaragi said evenly, "it looks like you've lost your ability to judge the situation."
"What?!"
"I activate the Trap Card 'Mirror Force'! By its effect, Pegasus—all of your 'Toon' monsters are destroyed!"
A rainbow-colored barrier flared into existence in front of Kisaragi. The Black Flare slammed into it—then rebounded violently back across the field. Pegasus' Toon monsters tried to hop away in exaggerated cartoon panic, but they were too late; one after another, they were obliterated.
"No!!!"
"Unbelievable! M-my beloved monsters!"
"This is a nightmare—bad dream!"
"No! This could never happen in the real world!"
In that instant, Pegasus' certainty collapsed. In his mind, Toon monsters were invincible—something no one could ever truly erase.
"Wonderful!" Dark Yugi said, exhaling hard. "Kisaragi destroyed the Toon world!"
"I told you—Kisaragi's got this!" Jonouchi grinned.
"End… my turn…" Pegasus forced out, humiliation dripping from every syllable.
"Pegasus has no monsters!" Mai's eyes lit up. "This is the perfect chance!"
"My turn. Draw!"
"I activate the Spell 'Monster Reborn'. I Special Summon 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' from my Graveyard!"
"Come forth—Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

"Then I Normal Summon 'Lancer Dragonute'!"

"There it is—Kisaragi's Blue-Eyes!" Jonouchi yelled, throwing on an absurd face.
"And she's got another monster too—if her attack connects, she wins!" Mai said, practically bouncing.
"Battle! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, direct attack—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
"Heh heh heh—you're too naive," Pegasus said smoothly. "I activate the Counter Trap 'Negate Attack'! That attack is negated, and the Battle Phase is forcibly ended!"
"Ah… so close…" Anzu whispered.
"But Pegasus has no hand, and nothing on the field," Dark Yugi said, eyes narrowed. "Kisaragi's odds are extremely high now."
"End my turn." (Cards in hand: 4)
Pegasus' Millennium Eye gleamed.
"Heh heh heh… Kisaragi—our Life Points may be equal, but I've never been pushed this far by another Duelist." His smile sharpened into something cold. "This duel is over."
The Millennium Eye erupted with light—then the entire arena was swallowed by darkness.
"This is—a Dark Game!" Dark Yugi blurted.
Everyone watched as Kisaragi's figure was engulfed by the blackness.
"Hey, Yugi," Jonouchi demanded, "what the hell is a Dark Game?!"
"A Dark Game is a game initiated by a Millennium Item's wielder," Dark Yugi said grimly. "Once you're inside, you can't escape until the duel ends. And if you lose in a Dark Game… the price is enormous—sometimes even your life."
"And for ordinary people," he continued, "their mind and body are drained rapidly. Most can't even endure the duel to the end."
"Then isn't Kisaragi in danger?!" Anzu cried.
Dark Yugi shook his head—he had seen Kisaragi face a Dark Game before.
"She has the spirit of Blue-Eyes White Dragon inside her. At the very least, she won't be worn down by the Dark Game's corruption. She should be fine."
"…All we can do now," he finished, "is believe in her."
Inside the Dark Space
"So this is a Dark Game…" Kisaragi murmured.
"My turn. Draw!" Pegasus' voice echoed unnaturally in the void.
"I activate the Spell 'Card of Sanctity'. By its effect, both players draw until they have six cards in hand."
He placed another card down.
"I activate the Ritual Spell 'Black Illusion Ritual'. I Tribute this monster from my hand to Ritual Summon—'Relinquished'!"

"And then I activate 'Polymerization'! I fuse 'Relinquished' with 'Thousand-Eyes Idol' in my hand—Fusion Summon, 'Thousand-Eyes Restrict'!"
Relinquished's body rippled like boiling water as countless eyes burst open across its flesh.

"So disgusting," Kisaragi thought, visibly unimpressed.
"Heh heh heh, Miss Kisaragi," Pegasus purred. "Thousand-Eyes Restrict can equip one monster you control to itself—and gain that monster's Attack."
"Of course… I choose 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon.'"
Thousand-Eyes Restrict opened its maw and sucked Blue-Eyes into its body. Its wings flared—and the silhouette of Blue-Eyes appeared spread across its back like a grotesque trophy.

"Battle! Thousand-Eyes Restrict attacks Lancer Dragonute—Burst Stream of Destruction!"
The Blue-Eyes image on its wings fired a white blast. Lancer Dragonute shattered instantly.

Pegasus watched her closely—and realized she wasn't being eroded by the darkness.
"Looks like that spirit inside you protects you well," he sneered. "But if you lose this duel… your spirit won't be able to save you."
"I set one card. End my turn." (Cards in hand: 0)
Kisaragi's gaze didn't waver.
"You don't need to worry about that," she said, drawing a card. "You're the one who's destined to lose."
"My turn. Draw!"
"Pegasus—thanks for your Card of Sanctity. Now I have everything I need to defeat you."
"What?!"
"I activate the Spell 'Hurricane'! By its effect, all Spell and Trap Cards on the field return to their owners' hands—including Blue-Eyes White Dragon, since it's being treated as an Equip Card."
A massive cyclone tore through the dark space. Blue-Eyes was ripped free from Thousand-Eyes Restrict and torn away.

"Next, I activate 'Pot of Benevolence'. I return two cards from my hand to my Deck. I choose 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' and 'The White Stone of Legend.'"
Pegasus' brow furrowed.
"What is she doing? She finally got Blue-Eyes back—and now she's putting it into the Deck?"
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Forbidden Chalice.' I target Thousand-Eyes Restrict—it gains 400 ATK, but its effects are negated!"

"And finally—this is the last step."
Kisaragi raised a card, her voice sharp as ice.
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Blue-Eyes' Advent.' By banishing all cards from my hand, field, and Graveyard face-down—including this card—I Special Summon up to three'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' from my Deck!"
"What?!" Pegasus' eyes went wide. "Summoning three Blue-Eyes White Dragons at once?!"
