"Baka," Kisaragi's mocking voice rang out.
"What?!"
"You really think I put Madame Verre in Attack Position—while knowing her ATK is low—for no reason?" Kisaragi sneered. "That trap is so painfully obvious… and you still jumped right into it."
"Impossible! You don't even have any face-down cards!" Pandora barked.
"Idiot. I activate Witchcrafter Madame Verre's effect."
"During damage calculation when my Spellcaster battles an opponent's monster, I can reveal any number of different-named Spells in my hand. That monster's ATK/DEF increases by 1000 × the number revealed, until the end of the turn."
Kisaragi flipped three cards in her hand for everyone to see:

"What?!"
"So my Madame Verre gains 3000 ATK/DEF!"

"Her ATK… jumped to 4000 in an instant…!" Pandora stared, pale.
"So that's why she kept recycling Spells from the Graveyard—this was the finishing blow," Grandpa Mutou said, impressed. "No wonder my grandson lost to her."
"Counterattack—Madame Verre, destroy Dark Magician!"
Madame Verre raised her staff. Dark Magician was sealed inside a glasswork prison—
Crack!
The glass shattered. Dark Magician broke apart, and the flying shards streaked toward Pandora like blades.
"N-no… AAH!"

"Awesome! Kisaragi-oneechan won!" Mokuba cheered.
Kaiba, meanwhile, just smiled like it had been inevitable.
"I lost… I actually lost…!" Pandora stumbled, then suddenly dashed behind a curtain.
"Caterina! Caterina!"
He clutched a doll tightly through the curtain, babbling.
"Caterina… I'm sorry I hurt you… I don't need money or fame anymore… Let's go back to France and start over…!"
"That guy is… disgusting," Téa said, shivering.
Even though Kisaragi had seen this in the anime, it felt far worse in person—everything about it was wrong, uncanny.
Then—
A golden Eye of Horus appeared on Pandora's forehead.
He released the doll, straightened up, and looked at them.
"It seems… I underestimated you."
Kisaragi narrowed her eyes. "You're… Marik?"
"What?! He's Pandora!" Kaiba snapped.
"This is our first meeting, Seto Kaiba," the voice said. "I used the Millennium Rod to implant my memories into this man's mind. That's why I can control him at will."
Kaiba's brows furrowed—thinking of Pegasus' Millennium Eye.
"Tch. More supernatural junk." He stepped in front of Kisaragi, facing Marik head-on.
"Seto Kaiba," Marik continued, "your purpose for holding this tournament is to draw out the two God Cards I possess—correct? But I have the same objective. The final God Card—Obelisk the Tormentor—is in your hands, isn't it?"
"Hmph. That's right," Kaiba replied coldly. "If you want it, come to me in the finals."
"Heh heh heh… I will. But first, I need to confirm something else." Marik's gaze slid to Kisaragi.
"Kisaragi Aoi… I admit you're exceptional. Aside from me, no one can defeat you. But don't get cocky. After I settle the Ishtar family's thousand-year grudge… you're next."
With that, the presence vanished.
Pandora collapsed—unconscious.
"Confirm something else…? A thousand-year grudge…?" Kaiba frowned.
"It's Yugi," Kisaragi said. "That man has hatred spanning millennia. He'll definitely go after Yugi."
"Could it be that mural…?" Téa blurted out.
"You saw it too?" Kisaragi asked.
"Yes. I once passed a museum with Yugi… There was an Egyptian mural from three thousand years ago. It had Yugi's face… and the other person was—" Téa trailed off, glancing at Kaiba.
"How boring," Kaiba cut in. "Historical debris. I have zero interest in the past."
He grabbed Kisaragi by the wrist and started pulling her out.
"Kaiba—slow down! I can't keep up!"
Before leaving, Kisaragi turned back and warned Téa:
"Be careful. You're connected to Yugi."
As Kaiba hauled her out—
"Are we… being targeted by the Rare Hunters?" Téa whispered.
"I think so," Grandpa Mutou said grimly. "They'll do anything. Tell Jounouchi and the others to be careful too."
Outside the shop—
"Kaiba," Kisaragi said, "we're going to find Yugi. You can do that, right?"
"I can," Kaiba replied, staring at her. "But why?"
"Marik said he has someone to 'settle.' It's Yugi. And if we move now, we might even see the second God Card. Isn't that the perfect chance to learn more about them?"
"…I see." Kaiba's expression eased, and he laughed. "Hah. I thought you were going to say something else."
"Like what?"
"Nothing." He turned to Mokuba. "Mokuba—contact Control. Get me Mutou Yugi's location."
"Got it!"
Mokuba muttered to himself:
"Seriously… the only person who can make my brother obey this easily is Kisaragi-oneechan. If I ever need a favor… I should just ask her to tell him."
On a crowded street, a crowd gathered around a doll on display.
Suddenly, the doll—something that shouldn't be able to move—formed an Eye of Horus on its forehead… and then bolted toward somewhere in the city.
Someone reaching for the doll screamed and fell backward.
"What the hell…?"
The crowd stared, confused.
Inside the doll's mind, a single command repeated—cold and relentless:
