"I am telling you! The Estate is more safer!" Raphael barked.
Doctor Pryde dragged a hand through his bright blue hair, the strands falling messily back into place as he rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue with open annoyance.
"No, it's not… it's a cage."
The words hung sharply in the sitting room.
Morning light spilled through the tall windows of the North Wing, illuminating the polished marble floor and the heavy furniture arranged in careful order. The room itself was beautiful in the way expensive things often were, but Alex had begun to notice that beauty did very little to reduce the suffocating feeling that came with never being allowed beyond its walls.
